This place is amazing. The tequila selection is top notch as is the food. You won't be disappointed. And the staff here is super friendly and knowledgeable.
Awesome! I could end this review right there, and have every category covered... But I'll go more in depth. Best happy hour in Baltimore, hands down! Margaritas were fabulous. I got the spicy margarita. It was strong, balanced and well prepared. After the complementary chips and salsa we tried three dif types of tacos. The steak, avocado, and shrimp tacos. Each one exploding with flavor.
As far as the bar staff went. Wow they were on point. My girlfriend and I were served by Nikki and Larry at the bar. Not only were they Fast and attentive, but entertaining as well.
As we moved to a high top table we also had a great waitress continue our night. He talked us through the vast tequila selection and found a shot that was just perfect. It was the Milagro select anejo. I think his name was pablo.
All and all a perfect visit to a federal hill institution.
I’ve been here quite a few times. Atmosphere is great, all of the staff seems to always be in a wonderful mood. They are friendly and welcoming. Spicy Guavaritas are delightful and at a great price during Happy Hour. Everything I’ve ordered from their menu has been nothing but delicious food. Love this place.
Great selection of tequila and very nice food (huge number of choices). Christian, our server, was great - attentive, informative, and efficient. A very nice guy. The lamb flautas were delicious, as was the guacamole. Highly recommended.
Great food, the menu is a perfect mix of authentic and innovative! The guacamole is served in these little molcajete looking dishes...so cool! I think between me and my girlfriend we have tried every different kind of margarita and they're all AMAZING, especially the el jefe and the red pepper (she liked the pommagranite and a special drink they had called a Paloma). Dinner was amazing I had the lamb birria and she had the hibiscus enchiladas because she's a vegetarian and we both were extremely impressed. Finished up with some classic Mexican churros, simple but effective! Service was perfect, attentive but not overbearing, friendly and actually suggested the lamb in the first place, which along with not dropping out of school to become a circus performer, was one of the greatest decisions of my life. Decor was a 10/10 I felt like I was in a romantic comedy where all the restaurants are super cool and the music was great! At one point the owner came over and asked how everything was, which made us feel great because it was a very busy Friday night! We will definitely be going back again, and again, and again.
Absolutely a wonderful experience. I saw such positive reviews for this resturant, I had to give a try. One of my friends was celebrating a birthday, so I decided to make reservations. Everyone that I interacted with was great. I had balloons and a cake, and the two hostess worked with me to get the balloons to the table before the Birthday Lady was able to see. And get the cake to the back to bring out later. The bartender we had while waiting for the rest of our party at the bar was super busy, but you would have never known. She was awesome!!! And what can I say about our waitress, Kristin. Such a delete, sweet, and fabulous waitress. There were about 10 of us but you would have never known. Very attentive, personable, and a delight the entire night. You MUST go visit this place... the food and drinks were . Flight 8 was my favorite!!! I'll definitely be back!!!

I love Mexican food!! I've eaten Mexican in restaurants all over the country and Blue Agave is one of the best! The Queso Fundito is a cheesy buttery meal in itself and the Pollo Tacos were delicious with very generous portions! The building is historic and has large windows that open out onto the sidewalk-I'm so glad we found this unique restaurant our first day in Baltimore!
The 3 sauces that came with the tortilla chips were tasty and unquie. I had ropa ieja tacos so delicious. Our server was friendly and attentive. Atmosphere was fun, funky. Definitely would eat here again
Ended up here with my husband my one son and his wife and another with his girlfriend after we were unable to get into another local restaurant. The wait staff was friendly, the food delicious all around. Great neighborhood feel and definitely worth a second visit at some point. Great way to spend an evening. My pomegranate margarita was delish!
The best steak burrito in this quadrant of the Milky Way. (Our galaxy, not the candy bar for you millennial's)
Amazing creviche!
Awesome place if you love Mexican food. Great ambiance as well. I highly recommend it!
The pulled chicken tacos were awesome. Great margaritas. Excellent place to sit by one of the windows open to the sidewalk and savor the sultry heat on the July Fourth holiday.
Great food & drinks !! The happy hour is a great deal - well worth it !!
Had a few moments and decided to stop in for a sangria. Very nice atmosphere. Great music
Nice staff. Loved my window seat.
Wow, all i can say is that I loved it. Great food great atmosphere and I was satisfied
I’ve been here so much, they know me by name. If you want to go to a restaurant where the food and drinks are always of great portions and full of flavor, then here you are.
If you are looking for a bar that has great tequila and good food, here you are again.
The wings are by far THE BEST WINGS and I know some wings. They are fried, grilled and then tossed in a tangy bbq sauce and served with chipotle ranch. I always get two orders. I have to.
The next best thing would have to be the tacos. Small and flavorful. The salsa they offer with the chips is what I put on mine(brown one is the best).
I haven’t had a bad experience yet. I’ve been going there for 5 years and will continue to go there for many more!!
Haven't been there for dinner but continually come here for brunch and have never been disappointed. Food is great and the mixed drinks on the brunch menu are by far appropriate for the time of day and for the cuisine provided. The Mexican coffee is a big seller in my experience. A+ for brunch
Awesome!. New ownership = amazing Mexican food! WIll definitely go back. I am super picky and this may have been the best Mexican I have ever had. Sangria was also great, usually not a huge Sangria fan.
SO GOOD!!!. Unbelievably delicious veggie burrito. I believe they marinate the vegetables before grilling them and rolling them up in the tortilla. The guacamole is FRESH, FRESH, FRESH and chunky, not that nasty, runny, metallic-tasting canned crap you get elsewhere. My man loved his fish tacos, too.
Our check for the two entrees plus a total of four drinks came to $84; we thought it was fair, all things considered. The only negative was the music: a little LOUD for a weeknight, but the yummy food and pleasant service easily made up for that. Very friendly and knowledgeable wait staff. Two thumbs up! We will go back the next time we visit B-more.
Best Mexican I've ever had. Hands down. Carne asada enchiladas and shrimp quesadillas are to die for. Above my normal price point but so worth it!
Mexican in Baltimore. Excellent Saturday evening dining. Good wait staff. Best chile relleno appetizer we have ever had! Superb carnetas with pickled veggies on the side that made it almost like North Carolina barbecue. This was our first time there. We will be back. Oh yes and the margaritas are phenomenal!
Great tequila list and margaritas with fresh lime juice! Food is good but not amazing.
Fine Dining Mex!. Everytime I come here it's a great experience. Great service, Great margaritas (kick ass 3+ shots), Great food! I've tried the Burrito de Carne Asada, the steak is so tender and spiced perfectly, the Carnitas better than the best pulled pork, nice and spicey corn cakes, and the Sopa de Elote is a great soup. I've never been disapointed.
As a Californian I have to say this is some of the best Mexican food I have had. Once you have one of their chilli rellanos all others will pale in comparison. Excellant service.
Good food & interesting ambiance. The mussels are a must!
Great Spanish Food. The atmosphere of this place is a little funky, but the food, drinks, and service is great if you like authentic Spanish food. Great date location.
At some point we were going to have to review a Mexican restaurant. We'd been avoiding it because of my newly diagnosed stomach issues which included such orders from the doctors as "no spicy foods" and "for the love of GOD no spicy foods" and "You should
I grew in a small town called Muncy in PA. There aren't many restaurants that weren't chains in the surrounding area- so when I asked my Mom what type of food she wanted to kick off her 60th birthday celebrations this was her reply "Mexican and somewhere
Blue Agave is an iconic Federal Hill hangout. 3 outside tables. Lots of inside seating. Bar and tables.
Service is excellent. Food is good. Price is more expensive than other Mexican places. Free nachos and salsa (mostly mild but you can add some hot sauce).
Street parking isn’t easy but isn’t impossible.
Highly recommend.
Came in since there was no wait and quite frankly completely empty but we are so glad we did. We ended up staying for about 3 hours with tequila specialist Hannah helping us out. She was fantastic. I had the best pancakes I’ve ever had in my life. Best brunch I’ve had in a long time! Will definitely be back!!
Blue Agave is a great neighborhood spot, especially during happy hour.
The complimentary chips are fantastic. The salsas definitely require you to doctor them up with lots of hot sauce, but they taste amazing after you do. Happy hour tacos are served on flour tortillas not corn, but the amount of meat filling is very generous, and there is plenty of freshness to make the first bite as good as the last. The margaritas here are very solid as well. The fact that they have Modelo Negra on draft is 🤌💋.
Very satisfied with the offerings as well as the vibe at the bar.
Four of us enjoyed dining at the Blue Agave Mexican Food on a Saturday night the second week of December. All got tacos that ranged from fried rock fish, fried avocado, mushroom and the house special. The three salsas that came with the freshly made tortilla chips were equally as good and our waitress refilled them twice without us even asking and she frequently checked on us.
This is a great place to have some Mexican food. I recommend the Carne Asada tacos were very good and so were the muscles. I didn’t care too much for the guacamole as it wasn’t chunky.
My only real issue with this place is the 19% gratuity automatically added to the bill even if they informed you verbally and in writing. I was going to tip more but decided not to because of this.
Blue Agave has become our favorite spot in fed hill. Every time we've come, the staff has been phenomenal and the food equally amazing. The staff are such hard workers and have the best customer service. We will come back again and again! Absolutely love it here and the guavarita is delicious. I love it here!
Went for happy hour and had a perfect taco Tuesday experience. The chicken and bean tacos were delicious but shrimp was our favorite. Our server, Julie, was so perfect - present just the right amount, super friendly and service was fast. I loved the sour margarita.
Went here for the first time on New Year's Eve 2023 with a couple of friends. I actually liked this place, but they weren't too crazy about it, and my friend said his fajita dish was dry and not seasoned properly. My Burrito was fresh and tasty, though it could've been a lot more food inside of the burrito, especially for how much they charge for it. $25 for a burrito is wild! Lol. But I did enjoy it, their service was good, and I really like the ambiance and setup. This place wouldn't be my first choice, but I would definitely come back here.
The food was the best I had in Baltimore. Blue Agave concluded my road trip perfectly. Try the food, stay and eat the food, pass out while getting taste overload with the food. Alyzae made sure we was taken care of, she was attentive and kind beyond words! Make sure you tip her well!! Thank you Blue...be back soon.
We had shrimp adobo fajitas for 2pp..they were tasty delicious also we had grilled corn on the cob prepared with mayo and cheese it was amazing
Took my parents for brunch and it was a decent spot. Our server was great and the manager was really nice making sure all tables were okay.
They have some of the best chilaquiles I’ve had in the area! Love their green sauce and they’re so tasty and not spicy. I had their tres leches pancakes and they were delicious! My parents told me their meals were great so I guess we’ll be coming back!
Been there twice, the food and service in excellent. I will definently be returning.
Went there for a random weekend and wanted mexican food. Google was very helpful to point me in the right direction. The quality of the food was perfect. The food was nice and hot and packing flavors. I also ordered the PAMA margarita 🍹 and it was made well. They were playing some music 🎶 and it made the ambient feel better. I definitely recommend this place overall.
Olivia was our waiter and she did a good job. Food was delicious, it just took awhile to come out. But worth the wait! The habanero wings crispy was to die for. Will definitely be back.
We had a lovely time at Blue Agave! I dont get out to this area very often so, this was my first time visiting. The dining room was roomy and well decorated. The traditional chips and salsa (!!) were there and tasted great. 3 really good options in the salsas. We ordered a pitcher of skinny margaritas and the first pitcher was really good, so we ordered a second. It was NOT as good... for some reason it was really bitter. But, ultimately, we did not return it or anything. Everyone really enjoyed their dinners. We went with some of the house favorites including the chile relleno and the Alambre burrito. I had the burrito and a side of the AMAZING mashed sweet potatoes. After a bit of rest, dessert for all. Two shared the flaming Sundae en Fuego and I had the smaller single serve fried ice cream. A really wonderful and filling meal. I hope to come back soon.
Dropped in on a late night tip and it surprised us bc we didn’t expect much from this bar. The tacos were good. The carne asada was just a little on the salty side but good. The soup was really good!! I love a thick tomato based soup. Came back for more of the soup the same week. This is a very straight forward Mexican food joint. Great food for what it’s worth.
Stumbled upon this place on a late Saturday night where most other places required a reservation, Blue Agave did not. The restaurant was full & the crowd was diverse.
The food was good & well prepared. The staff was friendly & made great recommendations. I would definitely come back to try other items on the menu.
It was Father's day dinner. We chose to sit outside as the weather was pleasant. Loved the prompt service of nachos and the dips came with those.
Our waitress was very nice and was patient with our orders. We tried Ceviche for the first time and loved it. Tamale and fajitas all were good except the beef one. The beef was chewy and did not taste good. Otherwise it was a beautiful experience.
I had only been here for drinks but we checked it out for dinner and it was delicious! It was a busy Friday night but we were accommodated quickly. Starter chips and salsa are great. A few delicious margaritas later I had a taco salad with blackened shrimp. Very flavorful and cooked to perfection.
