Wow. Everything is gluten free, a lot is dairy free and delicious.
It's a cute little place with with a homey environment. We walked in through the little yellow side door and were greated by a cute little bar. We decided to take a few steps up into the restaurant.
The restaurant was warm and inviting. Violent Fems was playing on the speakers and we found a table next to an outlet so we could do our homework.
I had already ate earlier so I ordered fries and a whiskey drink. Yum! The fries are dipped in a chickpea flour batter and fried. They were amazing.
They have this cute little bakery with gluten free and dairy free treats. We ordered treats "to go" along with soup. The treats and soup were amazing for a late night snack.
My friend thought the music was too loud and couldn't study very well otherwise I would have sat there all night! I wanted to try so much on the menu. It has all my favorites, chicken wings to fried tofu and a great Indian menu with gluten free naan!
I will be back for sure! They have a thanksgiving menu to go that is gluten free and dairy free, and comes with everything including a pie!
I'm not much into alcohol other than whiskey but they seem to have a great drink list with unique beers and wine too.
Went for birthday lunch. A celiac’s dream come true with an all GF menu. My vegetarian companion was equally happy. My large bowl of chicken in mild creamy curry sauce with wonderfully seasoned mashed sweet potatoes and sautéed garlic spinach was all delicious. Cupcake choices were dizzying! Friend had the spicy vegetable soup which was huge and very good plus a grilled vegetable sandwich. Snuck a few of my friend’s amazing chickpea battered French fries. I can’t wait to eat leftovers tomorrow!
Wait staff and chef or owner(?) were all friendly. A bit dark inside but they cranked up the heat for us on a cold windy slow-business weekday. Large portions were reasonably priced. We hope to return to try more of their menu.
A free extra cupcake! This team never disappoints. Reasonably priced and always a beautiful treat. Beats the competition.
I got a vegan chocolate raspberry dessert. It was rich, creamy, with a hint or raspberry. It was mildly sweet, which I loved. There were less vegan options than expected, but there were gluten free and regular desserts..and then a strange array of Indian food, actually more food than baked goods. 🤔 I also wasn't a fan of the packaging. I'm not sure what theme of the restaurant is...anyway, my dessert was good.
Lamb Vindaloo and the Mole wings made a perfect meal. The lamb was so tender and spices perfect!
Café/restaurant with great atmosphere just at the corner of an intersection. There is great outdoor seating with shade and string lights. There is also ample indoor seating. There are baked goods but they also have a menu of serviced restaurant food as well as a fridge of alcohol. Very easily walkable from R house or Remington row parking garage. Overall great vibe and service
So happy to find this 💯 gluten-free restaurant! The owner was so kind to also navigate around my latex fruit allergies and made a special dish for me. Just wonderful people, the server was so kind, and the owner went the extra mile.
Definitely eat here even with meat, vegetarian, and vegan options.
I crave the salted caramel cupcakes on a daily basis.
The restaurant is a great vibe too. A delicious variety of plates all very reasonably price - which is rare in bmore these days!
We had the orange tofu and ginger cilantro tofu
I've been patronizing Sweet 27 for over a decade. I used to live across the street and visited several times a week. Now I live in a different part of town so I'm not able to stop by as often as I would like to.
I recently got the fried tofu manchurian style and the fries with chickpea batter and it was excellent. Honestly I would recommend anything on their menu.
Edit 02/18/23: had dinner at the bar. The bartender as very friendly and attentive. I tried the Bombay tofu and to say it went perfectly with the mashed potatoes is an understatement.
Update: in bouncing up to a five star review after we were back again recently. Staff was spectacular. Food was great. The prices are out of this world. This the type of place baltimore keeps losing. Something that isn't spit polished and sanitized. Great food, at a great price in a great atmosphere. If you've never been it is worth a trip. Also there is something for every dietary restriction!
I had been here a couple time early when it opened. Unfortunately, I wasn't impressed. Went again recently, and was very pleasantly surprised. We sat at the bar, our bar tender was pleasant and attentive. Food was on point. Great veggie/vegan choices. The price points were also great. There is definitely something for everyone. I highly recommend this spot! (Especially if you're a vegetarian or vegan) We'll be be back.
The gluten free naan was amazing! The menu was delicious Indian and there was a fantastic array of gf cupcakes and baked goods.
This place has always been good, but it's done nothing but improve over time. They recently also have put more into the look and atmosphere of the place. The food is fantastic. 100% gluten-free. Indian Fusion entrees with a full gluten-free bakery.
Delicious food truly! Love this place. Dedicated gluten free fryer. Food just taste goooood. Not gluten-free good.
Absolutely delicious! I went to this place for a second time recently and actually managed to take pictures of most of the cupcakes before having any lol. The picture shows 2 cookies n cream, a Nutella, and something else delicious 🤷🏾♀️. There is a 5th vegan strawberry that was separate.
First time and the cashier was extremely helpful! I didn't gave enough cash with me and they worked with me to get an entree anyways. I think the atmosphere is very welcoming and I love the variety of food options. It's rare to see an all gluten free spot with a good mix of vegan and nonvegan options.
My only regret was not asking if the entree already came with rice!!! Plan on making my own. The chicken curry is excellent.
