Awesome diner! Fresh and tasty food. In business for over 75 years and it shows by their hospitality. Interior a bit small but there’s a large patio. Conveniently located near I95.
In town visiting and this popped up on our GPS. Having been in business since 1927 we figured they had to know what they were doing! Casual friendly atmosphere indoor or outdoor seating and dog friendly! Lisa took care of us on day 1 and Marie on day 2. We didn't bother looking for another place because everything was just as expected. We even met the owner on our 2nd trip there and as someone who runs a restaurant it's important to see the operators on premise. Appreciate the hospitality and good food! Pictured is the very delicious Strawberry Crunch cake.
Just like the old Highlandtown days! Excellent Coney Island hot dogs with chili and delicious gravy fries. Service is top-notch in this cozy little place. I'm so happy you survived all of these years and elated that you have found a new home!
Visited G&As new White Marsh location for the first time
The staff was wonderful! Our waitress was very nice, and the service was quick. The food was exactly what I had expected; delicious. My wife ordered the southwest salad, and I ordered a coney island hotdog (comes with chili, Mustard, and onions), Mac cheese and fries with gravy. All very good!
Seating is limited inside, but they have covered seating outside, and the tables seem to turn quickly. I waited for about a minute before a table was available.
Glad to see a restaurant serving the Baltimore community for decades thriving in their new location. Definitely give them a try
Everything on the menu does not disappoint!!!
Service is fantastic and you are treated like family.
Owner is super friendly takes time to talk to you and make sure everything as you want it.
Portions are huge. Highly recommend!!!
Crab soup is true to Baltimore.
Crab cakes are packed with Crab.
The Cuban is loaded with marinated pork.
Almost forgot TRY THE PIE!!!
Coconut custard pie and rice pudding just perfect.
The food was delicious! I had the crab cake sandwich, huge pieces of crab. Everything that my family ordered was great. We had the NY Strip steak, Bbq brisket sandwich, and a bacon cheeseburger. All with the French fries with gravy. We loved it. Rice pudding was also thick and creamy. We would definitely eat there again!
Absolutely loved it! I’ve been going to the original location ever since I was a kid. I was sad when they moved, but the new location was fantastic. Andy and the crew were all there and the food was exactly the same! Thank you for keeping it going and we will definitely be back very soon!
Love this place. Me and my fiance come here all the time. The owner is awesome and very attentive. The food combinations he comes up with are phenomenal you must try the prime rib is available. Also, the crab cakes are very good
. I have to add my favorite is the chicken orzo soup.
This restaurant is located in a small strip of stores. We visited here in a large group. Lisa was our waitress and she was very friendly and attentive. We all had breakfast and the bacon was amazing! My eggs were cooked exactly the way I asked them to be. The home fries were good. The manager even came out and checked on us after our meal was served which I always appreciate an attentive manager. The only negative I had was that we were seated outside and it was very hot. I would suggest if possible to have fans outside on hot days.
I love the old diners, so when I read that this one was moving after 94 years at it's current location, I had to give it a try. Boy, am I glad I did!!! The Coney Island hot dog was terrific. The crab soup was excellent, as was the bbq brisket sandwich. The fries with gravy are a must!!! The gravy was delicious. Had a nice chat with the owner, who is a very likeable fellow. I wish them all the best in their soon to be new location. I highly recommend giving them a try.
If you haven’t visited the new location, you better get to it!! Breakfast served all day, appetizers and meal was delish!! Thanks you so much Lisa, for your wonderful service. Doug Kottraba State Farm team members APPROVED!!
Saw it in Triple D and decided to try it out. When we first arrived, there was difficulty finding parking, but decided to take a chance at the lot across the street. There is on street metered parking along the street. But, Baltimore parking is what it is. We entered and were instantly greeted with all of the warmth of true family. My husband had the Cheeseburger with Fries and GRAVY. The fries were amazing as I stole most of his. He enjoyed the burger as well. I had the Maryland Crab Soup that reminded me of the flavor of streamed crabs with the bay leaves used in the prep. SO GOOD! I also had their famous Polish Hot Dog, which was also extremely good. Can't wait to try the crabcakes that looked amazing on my next visit.
Good (but too much BBQ sauce) and tender brisket with very good french fries mostly stolen by my wife. Many items breaded and cooked on site. Busy inside (too hot outside) with a constant traffic flow. Will look forward to coming back! Wish: make a good Chicken Fried Steak.
Best place to go to eat in the White Marsh area. The food is amazing. The owner and chef is amazing. The staff is amazing. It’s the only place that I have felt safe in two years outside of my home.
G&A is a Baltimore classic. Chef Andy & his crew have created the perfect “You are Home HERE!” Environment!
The servers & kitchen crew have given my family a place to just sit and enjoy.
Chef Andy is a true wizard of the kitchen … he is never ending in his magical works with amazing dishes. You want comfort foods … you want soul … you want “in my nobody opinion” the BEST Crabcakes in Baltimore … from Burgers, Hot Dogs, Chicken and the cleanest fresh Turkey …
Yes … I am bias towards my hometown … we all have ours … it is the attitude & atmosphere that made this my personal favorite place!
You see … the last two years have been battling stage 4 Melanoma Cancer. It would happen G&A moved from Highlandtown to White Marsh … crossing magically between my treatment location & home. One stop quickly became weekly … which became 2 to 3 times during the heavier treatments. We would go in … grab our usual table … and just be adventurous travels of the menu … jokes & snarks … chats about cats … all along Chef Andy creating … each dish is different but always the same at its heart … and all along not once did I feel like the “cancer patient”!
So … taken what you will from this rambling thread … just know if you are open to the possibility … Chef Andy in his Black Puma T Shirt has created a Baltimore Gem … stop in & tell them “that guy who doodles on the checks” sent me in “I heard the Crabcake platter was the end all be all …”
Food was absolutely delicious! The service was great too! It was our first time there and we will definitely be going back.
I had the pleasure of enjoying a cheesesteak at this fine establishment. I can say without a doubt that it was the best cheesesteak I’ve had in my life and I’ve been to Philadelphia before!
