For some it might be a small thing, but one of my first favorites about this place is the fact that they serve genuine queso Blanco!
Cover a couple chicken burritos in that and I'm in heaven!

There weren't many reviews but most were positve, was looking for a Mexican place that would have my favorite dessert "Soppapila" did I spell that correct? Anyway, did a search on all the Mexican place & decided to give this a go, it was south of the city in "Brooklyn" didn't seem too good an area. THe place seemed like it was in an old "food chain" type building. Atmosphere & service was good, food was average but the "presentation" was below average...
By far the best, most authentic Mexican restaurant I've ever been to! I had the Tacos ElSalto with Chorizo and chicken. The Chorizo is absolutely awesome. Highly recommend.

I go at least twice a week. Great service, amazing food. I'm just not a fan of their salsa, its usually served cold. Other then that if you haven't had El Salto yet you're missing out
A Family Favorite. My family has been going to El Salto for over a decade and have enjoyed each visit. I highly recommend that you start out with a big bowl of queso to dip your freshly made chips into. Then venture into any of their authentic Mexican dishes with inexpensive combos that will leave you full and satisfied. Most of my family goes for the fajitas or the especial la casa, both of which are an experience. The homemade margaritas are on point and you'll find a wide variety of speciality drinks not offered at most places.

I do not understand "tdodsons" review. I eat here with my family at least once a week, sometimes more often. The food is very good. I have never been disapointed. Good food at good prices. Give it a shot.....

Prices aren't that bad. Make sure you come hungry because the portions are huge! I recommend the chimichanga or the "burrito California"!
My husband and I were in Glen Burnie for an event and decided to try El Salto. It was a wonderful decision. The staff were all happy and upbeat. It felt so friendly, like you were visiting home. The food was incredible, portions were large and the service was fast. I really only review places that are exceptionally good or bad. This was so good that I had to let other people know that it's worth a visit.

Locals have been telling me to go since I've moved here. I'll be honest, it was pretty good. Full disclosure: I used to live in Oklahoma and was spoiled with authentic and amazing Mexican and TexMex, so my bar is somewhat high.
I went during off peak hours, around 3pm. As a result, I was literally the only table there until I was about to leave. The service was great, and the building was clean. As for what you're really interested in, the food, it was good.. but I guess the things people had told me set my expectations much too high. I got the "stuffed jalapenos" which I was expecting would be like fresh stuffed jalapenos but were actually just frozen and fried jalapeno poppers. The complimentary chips and salsa was good - chips were fresh and crunchy and the salsa tasted very fresh. I also got the combination fajitas - chicken and steak. It came out on a sizzling platter and the presentation was good. It came with three tortillas, and a side of guac, sour cream, lettuce, and refried beans. No pico, which was unexpected. The sides were fresh and tasty. The meat and veggies were good as well, though a little overcooked.
And finally, I got a jalapeno margarita. I'm not going to lie.. it was the star of the show and couldn't have really been any better. It was amazing and included fresh sliced jalapenos.
I don't mean for this all to sound so negative, it was really good all around. As I mentioned before, I came in with the wrong expectations. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone if you're looking for fresh, delicious, tex mex that hits the spot. Just keep in mind this is more chain type food rather than authentic.
had a great experience, the staff was more than accommodating to pur largish party and the waitress was extra attentive and helpful. the food was made super fast and quite tasty. priced fair and very clean. would definitely go again. thanks El Salto for making our celebration so festive and fun.
If you walk here hungry somethings wrong. Eat here all the time. Today was first time my daughter came with me she loves it.
I know the outside doesn’t look to appealing. But trust me, the food is great. Standard Mexican restaurant, with great service. I always stop to eat here when I’m in town.
Very delicious and the service was excellent! Only thing I didn’t care for was the jalapeño poppers because it was filled with nacho cheese instead of cream cheese. Delicious salsa
We like el Salto. They have consistently good food and we frequent them a lot. I find them over priced in a lot of ways but there are few exceptional Mexican restaurants in town.
The food here is excellent, I got the carne asada this time but have had their burritos and street tacos previously. The service is good. The atmosphere is family friendly but nice enough for a casual date. Prices are very reasonable and the margarita was the size of my head.
The food here is always good, we have been coming for over 20 years. This is singularly my family's favorite restaurant. I would go as far as to say we are regulars. We have done many birthdays and special events here. The last birthday we did here was my sons and it was actually a few months ago. Tonight when we came in one of the waitresses came up to my son and ask him if he forgot something when he was here for his birthday party. She pulled out a birthday card that he had left at the restaurant with money in it. The fact that it still had the money in it and they remembered him. Was incredibly heartwarming. I cannot say enough good things about this place the food is amazing and so are the people!
While passing by Glen Burnie today we decided to stop at this restaurant, it was very easy to locate it. El Salto has it's own parking lot which makes it more convenient for customers.
We were seated directly and we got a high chair so quickly.
Our server was very friendly, welcoming and spent enough time to chat and take our order.
We ordered Nachos ElSalto and Corne Azada and both were really good.

Amazing food and amazing service the waitress was very friendly we took forever to make our order waiting on others and indecisive lol she never once rushed us she was awesome.
The food was delicious. So glad i finally visited this place. I always ride by it since it’s in the same location as my grandkids daycare. Will be going back.
