The cake slices are huge and soo good! I tried a variety of them and each one was great! I would go weekly as a tray to myself and the snickerdoodle cookies are good too! Hands down better then any grocery store bakery

Ive been ordering from Berger’s throughout the year’s my oldest is 17. They’ve always delivered, and the cakes are delicious. Bae loves their coconut cakes. I love the glazed donuts and snickerdoodle cookies too. Every time I go to the market, I stop and get something!!!
My sister always gets her kids birthday cakes from this place and they have always been the best tasting birthday cakes ever. I decided to do the same every year for my kids and I live about 30 minutes away. It's well worth the trip. The designs are always on point and the cakes are very, very moist. Best birthday cakes I've ever had!

Okay Berger's cookies, great cakes, mediocre customer service.
It was a rainy Saturday afternoon, so the entire Lexington Market was less crowded than usual. At Berger's Bakery, though, there were about 10-15 customers trying to get helped. I was being courteous and started standing behind what looked like the end of a line, waiting to get helped, only to find that two customers who arrived later than I (and stood behind me) got helped before I did because they yelled out their orders when one of the staff members became available. Okay, guess I will have to be aggressive to get what I want. When it was my turn, being a cake person, I got a slice each of the carrot cake, and butter pound cake; also got 1/4 lbs of their well-known Berger's cookies.
I would like to echo some of the previous reviews - their signature cookies are so-so, not that impressive. The chocolate icing took up about 1/2 of the entire thing and tasted like store-bought factory-made icing. The cookie was frankly quite bland, a little pillowy and crumbly.
Their cake slices were quite good though. The carrot cake itself was moist, substantial, full of spices and texture. The icing on top tasted home-made, just sweet and smooth enough to compliment the cake. The butter pound cake was also moist, fluffy, delicately sweet like a homemade pound cake.
I will be back for their cakes and maybe their cookies other than the Berger's cookies

I love this place!!!! I've been ordering cakes for my children's parties for 10 years now and they always deliver!!! Their buttercream is the best in the market and the staff will work with you to get the perfect theme and colors!!!
The owners are outstanding. We get a birthday cake every year for our son and daughter. Never had a problem. The market needs to get renovated so good businesses like these get known and recognized.
This place is tucked away in an indoor food market that consists of tons of vendors. It a sketchy area but once inside it was very cool. Everything is homemade! The donuts I purchased were very good! I will be back!
