Pierogi. Sophie's pierogis are just like those my grandmother made, especially the potato and the cheese pierogi. If you have a taste for them, this is the place to go. You can even take some home. Great bakery items, too. Delicate kolachki, yummy hammentaschen among many others. The 7 grain bread is great especially toasted with povidla (prune) jam.
Sophia's Place was a delight to have lunch at.
We loved everything we got - the pierogies, stuffed cabbage, sauerkraut, and liverwurst sandwich. I can definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area and want something solid and flavourful.
Really nice place to get polish products. They offer a small selection of traditional polish dishes and fantastic cakes!
Very good Polish food! I had the pierogi (potato and cheese/farmers cheese) with bacon and onions and the cauliflower soup; I would highly recommend the farmers cheese pierogi. Very cheap, and the women who run it are super nice!
Three weeks ago: That middle-age lady was not nice, someone needs to teach her how to smile. The younger one was nice and very helpful. Luckily the owner joyfully came around to correct the bad customer service from the older lady. Without the owner’s appearance it would have deserved a One star because the middle age woman is mad.
Delicious pierogies 😋😋
Pro tip: farmers cheese = cottage cheese
The farmers cheese ones are so good and rich
The mushroom and sauerkraut ones were also delicious
The paninis were so delicious, generous portions, the owner recommended a new panini he had just invented and made that fresh for us. Super nice guy, very friendly. Very relaxed atmosphere, street parking, a few blocks from the water. Looking forward to going back!
Had a wonderful lunch here. It was our first experience with Polish food, but the two ladies were so helpful and guided us to some delicious choices. So happy we tried it.
Amazing food, especially the perogies! Friendly service with comforting staff that make you feel at home!
What a fantastic hidden gem!!! Food is great, you have to try Pierogies with Farmers Cheese and Naleśniki.
Sophia's place is an excellent Little slice of Poland in the middle of baltimore. Specialty seems to be baked goods with pastries tops on the list. They do have some needs and cheeses, and they have a fair amount of imported jams and jellies. Sophia is a survivor from the previous building when they when they renovated it. One of the few vendors that they let continue in existence. Vicky's diner is one of the other vendors that they LED continued. I've been to both more times than I can count. Aside from having really good things to eat, they work on remembering your name and trying to greet you personally every time you come in. This is the old style of salesmanship that I respond very very well too. Really makes you want to come back. And when the food is as good as what they have well then for going sure you're going to come back. Best part is it's not really that expensive, and Vicky's is down right on the cheap side as far as the prices. Servings of everything on large and the food is always been tasty. Three thumbs up on this one.
Make sure you visit this place!!! New site, same great hospitality. I love this place. One if my favorite places in Baltimore. I just love it. Delicious food. Cheap. I highly recommend it. I love this place. I've been a customer for years.
Fresh , authentic polish food & European Deli, Sophia's place has been a popular lunch destination inside the Broadway Market in Fells Point for over 30 years. In addition to serving fresh, made to order food, You can also purchase frozen pierogi and fresh kielbasa & other meats to cook at home. Delicious variety of baked goods. Take your food to-go or dine inside.. During the warmer months there's dining outside available. Ms.Sophia & Paulina are very friendly and provide excellent service.
Super Excellent spot in the new Broadway market. The feast is my favorite! You get a sausage with fresh sauerkraut, perogies, and this huge cabbage wrapped roll of awesomeness. Their soups are rich and earthy warm goodness. It's a great deal and amazing flavor.
Great place to go for some delicious traditional Polish delicatessen with some Polish groceries to purchase as well. My biggest complaint is that it is a very small store and is cramped as it is a part of a long building with multiple restaurants and stores, due to that it is cramped and difficult to fully get comfort. But regardless the food is delicious and I try to go there every time I am in the Baltimore area.
