I went on Thanksgiving Eve, hoping it wouldn't be overly crowded and it wasn't. I was with my wife and her parents.
We were seated quickly and then the server arrived within 5-10 minutes. Teaira was very attentive and pleasant. Her service was great.
The atmosphere was nice (we sat on the Tavern side, but they also have a Dining side). The refreshed building was intriguing and the restrooms were easy to locate.
Unfortunately it took an hour for our food to arrive. Others came and went, but for some reason ours took much longer for the kitchen to prepare. My MIL ordered the tacos w/fries, my FIL ordered a burger, my wife ordered the Tavern Steak, and I ordered the Maryland Grilled Cheese. The food was delicious and visually tasty too.
Aside from the delay of the food coming out, the experience was a delight and we'll be back. 😊
I heard great things about this place and it definitely lives up to the hype. I took pictures of the Tavern Steak(16oz NY strip) and the Chesapeake Rockfish. The rockfish looked soo tasty.🤤 I started to dive in before taking a picture. 🤠It was delicious!
I ate here after a meeting I had nearby. It's one of the few restaurants open at 4 pm on a weekday. I had crab cakes and $1 oysters. The oysters were good (not amazing, but good). The crab cakes were salty and were absolutely not worth the $42 (a price they don't show you in the menu, so don't assume they're priced like the other entrees!). The server was nice, but was also the bartender and was busy because of this.
This was one of the best dining experiences I have had in a really long time. We went in on the second Saturday in December at 8pm and we're promptly seated. Our drinks and first course arrived quickly and we're great. The truffle fries were perfectly crispy but a bit lacking of "truffle" flavor when compared with others I have enjoyed. I had the rockfish entree which was completely delicious. I literally cleaned the plate! My partner had the prime rib quesadilla and was very happy with his choice. I can't wait to go back and work our way through more of the menu!
I've been coming to this place for decades and really enjoy it. It's good for group events and has a great layout from formal dining to bar snacking. The only knock I have is lately the services has been consistently average at best. Over the past few visits, I haven't felt welcome after I passed the hostess stand. That being said, it's hard to find good help so hopefully that's an outlier and you have an excellent experience. Regardless, the food and spirits are great, and it's such a cute area to meander.
I was apart of a Christmas party at this location. The food was delicious and thel trays stayed full. The bartenders knew how to make my favorite drink and Old fashion. Top shelf liquor
The Drunken Mussels were delicious and very garlic-y . The Truffle Fries paired with the mussels (as recommend by the bartender) were great also. I washed it all down with a refreshing Tito's Orange Crush.
First time back here in a while and it didn’t disappoint. My friend and I came in on a Saturday night for some food and drinks at the main bar downstairs. We shared the spicy mussels. They were incredible. I would drive here just for these. I had the steak sandwich, and it was very good. My friend was also very pleased with his fried oyster tacos. The bartender was very nice and the service was fair.
One thing that caught my eye while sitting at the bar was the condition of the front beer coolers. They were in dire need of cleaning. I don’t want to drag an otherwise nice place, but I want to be honest.
Anyway, definitely go down for a meal or meet friends here for happy hour, or whenever you please, haha. This place is a staple of Baltimore!
The peach old fashioned was amazing. The appetizers were good, and the service was awesome. I wish I knew her name. The short African American woman with the Santa hat. She was amazing!
The food, service, and atmosphere was very nice. If you're there for brunch, I highly recommend the donuts. The pretzels were good and the crab dip was amazing. The hot honey glaze on the crispy fried chicken sandwich was the perfect amount of spice for me (which is not too spicy). The restroom was also very clean. A great restaurant all around.
The food was great. The atmosphere is love highly recommend I think this is my new weekly spot. Oh and they are not selfish with Shrimp on the Shrimp roll.
Local spot that always finds a way to keep their menu elevated (yet grounded) in approachable Maryland cuisine. Menu is easy to navigate but has something for almost everyone. Crazy good drink and food specials throughout the week and exemplary service to boot. There’s an awful lot of reasons it’s a requisite for locals and visitors.
Met friends for happy hour and we had the truffle fries, roasted oysters Rockefeller, blackened rockfish and rockfish with lemon and capers sauce and all were great. Will definitely come back.
