A decent place to grab a cup of coffee and a gourmet sandwich. This restaurant has a great atmosphere and wonderful and helpful staff. Please be mindful that this restaurant tends to get busy during lunch time. So, be prepared to wait for a little. I tried their Soup and Pita Point deal; Highlandtown - Classic Gyro Meat with Chicken Stew. I really enjoyed both go them. Well done guys, I will be back!
Solid cafe with breakfast and lunch in downtown Baltimore. Casual atmosphere with friendly staff. Convenient place for breakfast or lunch meetings. Great selection of baked goods and sandwiches. Always generous portions. Breakfast sandwiches on a bagel are fantastic. Lunch sandwiches can come on bread, in pita or wraps. They have healthy and vegetarian options. They also have indulgent options. Coffee is solid. They often have fresh cut fruit in the teach-in along with Snapple and gourmet juices. All of this is reasonably priced for what you get. All-in lunch is less than $10 and you'll feel more than full.
Fabtastic place to gran some lunch. Their sandwiches and selection of soups are amazing.
Neat little place, decent coffee and relaxed atmosphere. The staff were friendly, although they forgot my order. They were very fast about fixing it, though, which was excellent. I ordered a dark roast coffee, which wasn't the best I've ever had but was definitely better than average. My friend ordered a peanut-butter frappe and said it was excellent.
One of my favorite local sandwich places anywhere. You probably wouldn't find this place without being a local, as it doesn't stand out from the street. But it has great sandwiches and soups. Sandwiches are named after Baltimore landmarks and the helpful staff are authentic Baltimore folks that are charming and fun.
We stopped by for a quick breakfast. The man who took our order was polite and kind. We got two breakfast sandwiches that were much larger than what you get with McD's or BK. They were tasty and fed both of us for about $9. There was local artwork being sold on the walls, and it felt good to support a local business.
Love this place. Wasnt even looking for somewhere to eat but this place caught my attention and im glad I stepped in to try it.
I've been going to Java Joe's for lunch for probably 15 years (and its longevity tells you a lot). They have a wide selection of lunchtime offerings -- sandwiches and wraps and soups -- that are original and creative. The portions are quite substantial (I'm often able to save half of my sandwich for another meal, especially if I'm working late), and the prices are reasonable. Moreover, they must treat their staff well because there is remarkably little staff turnover, which is extraordinary for a lunchtime café. When I go in, they know my name, and I know theirs. Its also fairly common to see people I know there from all around downtown. And it's always great to support a local institution on one of our city's oldest streets that has a proudly Baltimore vibe.
Very friendly staff and clean restaurant. I asked the server to give me his best sandwich. The order can back as BBQ style chicken salad with cheese and bacon,,, not sure of the name. AWESOME! Very fast service. I would go back when in the area.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. It's a awesome place that has a variety of food and anything you could be looking for. They are personable and have great customer service (which is hard to come by these days). They have reasonable prices and great coffee too. If you are in the Baltimore area this is a must, they even do catering so bring it to your office. Check them out on Facebook, they always post specials and soups of the days.
