Super place with great food. Very nice variety on the menu and some great specials. We ate upstairs And had plenty of room ( place doesn't jamb in as many table as they can squeeze in). Not loud, nose place homey with a bunch of friends. Give it a try.
We've become sort of regulars and have never had a bad meal. Seriously great but not stuffy. Our waiter Zach takes great care of us and chef Steve makes everything special.
Absolutely adored this place. My mom and I went here a couple weeks ago and just fell in love. Everything from the atmosphere down to the delicious food just oozed quality. Highly highly recommend.

Fried chicken makes an excellent breakfast meat, pay the slight up charge, you won't be disappointed. Oh and that's a big ass cup of coffee, you guys serve, fresh pressed, top notch
My girlfriend and I ate there last night....the food was amazing. The service was a tad slow towards the end of the meal but the waitress was sweet and the food more than made up for it. Cool atmosphere as well. I highly recommend this place!
Huge shout out to Justin, the manager, for personally bringing some forgotten food from an order up delivery this past weekend. Not only did he bring it himself he gave us a gift card for the inconvenience. Cardinal has always been high on my list, as I think the chicken is amazing and the food is creative and always on point, but tons of kudos for this kind act on a busy Friday night.
A nice bar to hang out in with a kitchen that is anything but your typical bar kitchen. If you like a casual bar atmosphere but also want food that's better than anything you're likely to find in a typical bar or even any casual restaurant then this is the place for you. Will definitely stop back in whenever I'm in the area.
Best chicken and biscuits in town.. Plus the best brunch? What more could you ask for?? Wonderful owners who care about their customers and great staff (shout out to Mike and Lexi!) to boot! So glad to have them in my neighborhood!!

We had the steak wontons, steamed shrimp, fried chicken & mac n cheese. Everything was absolutely delicious. We were happy to find a highchair and kids menu. The Maple Bacon Manhattan was AMAZING.
Was a lil mixup with food but staff handled it very professional. Will definitely be returning soon. ���

Great customer service and their spicy margarita is bomb!! I wasn't too hungry so I just got fries with their chili ketchup. That chili ketchup was finger licking good!
Solid wings. The munion dip is a must too.
I will say, service can be incredibly slow at times.
We love this place! The outdoor seating was a perfect addition for the temperate climes! Food is prepared with care, great attention to detail and delicious-never disappointed. Fantastic craft beer selection and well crafted cocktails. Immaculately clean as well!
Cardinal Tavern is a fantastic relaxing experience at the corner of Hudson and Clinton with exterior and interior tables and seats galore at the bar.
The food is great.
The ambiance is cool.
The music is whatever you choose.
The staff are kind and professional.
During our visits we have been so well treated, that we hate leaving the tavern.
The owner doesn't realize how special she and the Cardinal Tavern are. What a treat for her customers !

I’ve been here several times and the food has always been great, the people are always friendly. It’s a great local spot if you’re looking to entertain family and friends from out of town. Or if you’re looking to have an event for work they have a great space upstairs. The owner is very easy to get along with and will work with you and the staff to make sure your event goes off without a hitch.
I hosted a client event at the Cardinal and it was excellent! The food was set up upstairs and was delicious. Anytime something was running low it was immediately replaced. The drinks were cold and the atmosphere was just what I wanted for a client event. Overall great experience! Thanks Alice and staff!
