No food here, but you can bring your own. If you visit Baltimore this should be the place you stop!! Amazing food, music was great, and everything was cheap. Love, Love, Love this place.

A SUPERIOR DIVE BAR! If you are looking for a classic dimly lit saloon with locals, this is the place. Seriously, a great place to hang and have a serious night of drinking.
I honestly haven’t tried the food. But all staff and awesome! Everyone is welcoming and that has obviously attracted a great crowd!
I asked for a non-alcoholic beverage and they made a great tasting mocktail for me. Definitely dragging the friends with next time!
It's an interesting place with interesting artwork on the walls. It's nothing fancy, it's a pub. Cash only
Sometimes, it smells funny 🤷🏾♀️The bartenders are awesome and the drinks are strong and inexpensive. That's all that matters. I'll be back again and again and again...
Cloe is the best! Place has been around for a long time. And the ceiling is blessed by God!
MRT has always been a cool spot but I prefer to go during the day, at night the atmosphere changes and I enjoy the place much better during the earlier hours. Cheap, drinks, friendly staff and patrons.
Baltimore, Maryland ---
The "Mount Royal Tavern" is a unique neighborhood bar, complete with unique bar flair, a unique selection on a DVD juke box & unique bar characters that all know each other.
The ceiling was painted like the Cystine Chapel by a patron in return for a lifetime bar tab. Ironically, this artist stopped drinking 2 months after completion.
Parking can be a real challenge in the evening hours.
The bartenders are as one-of-a-kind, as is this bar.
If you like the dive-bar atmosphere, this is a "Run-A-Way Bill" recommended experience.
"Run-A-Way Bill" was here! (& will return)

Chloe is the BEST and the other bartenders ROCK

Very comfortable not a lot of places to sit but the atmosphere is amazing. The bartenders are very nice and attentive even when it's packed. And surprisingly the bouncers that be in there are very friendly too just the overall nice establishment to go to to have a couple drinks and watch the game or just chill and hang out.
A real neighborhood dive bar. A dying breed that makes it that much more special. Eclectic crowd. Interesting staff. You can strike up a conversation or sit alone with your thoughts. Reasonable drink prices. The occasional slow cooker with complementary snack food (a while back — before the pandemic— there were some excellent sloppy joes, but not sure if they are returning). A Baltimore treasure for those looking off the beaten path.
It’s not a night out, but a religious experience. Welcome to The Dirt Church, Mecca of all dive bars, ambience and vibes that you cannot buy or cultivate in a hurry. Singlehandedly keeping the last Golden Tee Machine Alive. Home to such famous patrons as “Baltimore lean” “hey I’m gonna need to run a tab” and people that don’t ask for their pour to be heavy (bc it just is). CASH ONLY (and don’t you want it that way? not a place for credit cards to be whipped out for many reasons). Bar manager and bartender Chloe is a life story of tattoos, jokes, and roasts (if you dare to cross her). Drinks have been invented and consumed in this place that you will never see the likes of anywhere else. If at any point in your evening you need a sign, or doubt your higher purpose or existence, just look up and see God. Prices are too reasonable for the amount of people watching and whimsy you will download. Expect to make some lifelong friends as long as they accept you (be cool but without trying). It’s not fancy but it is sophisticated in its way; the height of dive bar culture lives here and I urge you to take part in its mystique before the neighborhood Americana ritual of sitting on a stool drinking alcohol and getting your problems off your chest (without a corporate logo up charging you) disappears forever. Note : some of the bartenders dance and sing. For FREE.
Would have been a 5 star rating. Unfortunately, a primitive thinking, middle aged, white male with glasses and a horrible shape, charged us FAR over the price that we pay in the evening for the same drinks. He started yelling at our group immediately when I made him aware of this. He then proceeded to take shots of tequila with his associates at the opposite end of the bar and make frequent bathroom visits. He was highly unsanitary with never washing his hands at all. Doesn't seem remotely interested in a safe environment. On the flip side, the evening staff (black and white) are incredible !!!!!!
Best hole in the wall dive in baltimore. Has been since the 80s.

Extremely friendly bartenders, and even more extremely affordable drinks that are extremely strong. If it’s good, they take it to the extreme here extremely recommend dropping in. Felt extremely welcome extremely quickly.
I asked for a dive; 1st time in this city and cheap beer and a good shot is what I got!
This place has been around for years, it's so nice and laid back, you'll enjoy the people who hang out here, the atmosphere is good.
