Today we shared 3 Thai dishes for the 3 of us from the lunch menu: The Pad Eggplant (shrimps with Chinese eggplants in a spicy black bean basil sauce), The Pad Broccoli (shrimps sauteed with broccoli and garlic in a light garlic sauce) and The Pad Thai Veggies (mixed vegetables and fried tofu sauteed with egg, peanut, rice noodles, bean sprouts and scallions). All dishes were delicious! The portions were enormous (enough for lunch and dinner) and the service was exceptional. Personnel was very friendly and welcoming with big smiles. We will definitely come back for an additional positive experience. Thanks!
Went here 2 weeks ago with 2 other people, and was happy we tried it out! We went during the happy hour, so some entrees and appetizers were discounted. We tried the curry dumplings/samosas, and they were delicious! We all enjoyed our meals (whether curry, noodles, tofu or meat), did not have to wait long, and the server was friendly. I am giving the restaurant a 4 instead of 5 only because they asked us to pay specifically in cash because sometimes they don't have enough when closing up at the end of the night, and they currently are not selling alcohol (although it is in the menu). Otherwise, we were very satisfied and would like to try other items on the menu!
This place is awesome. I rarely ever reviews after the 1st visit (I write a review based on an average of 3 visits) but I felt this place needed a review right away. I ordered the Thai Red Vegetable Curry and Thai Iced Tea. I went in around 9pm and the place was pretty busy. There were about 15 people dining in but they had plenty of carry out orders. I waited for about 10 to 15 minutes before the I could get the staff's attention (they were really running around) and once they realized I wasn't waiting for a carry out order, the server comped my tea. I'm pretty patient when I know it's a busy time, so I wasn't put off by it, however that was very kind of him. They gave me my tea right away and I had a really hard time not drinking it down immidiately! Very good iced tea...the flavor was strong. The curry was amazing too, lots of veggies and not too spicy. I do prefer my tofu more on the firm side but the flavor was perfect so I really didn't mind. The atmosphere of the place was very much like a "hole in the wall", small, low light, quiet enough to hold a conversation but obviously a busy place. The decor was really cool too, especially the check holders. Be prepared for a bit of a wait, but understand that it's worth it. I would take someone here on a date or business lunch/dinner if I wanted to impress them, but I'd go during the least busy times for that.
My husband and I go here regularly and adore it! The staff is always friendly and quick to their tasks. The food is outstanding each time and we frequent this establishment weekly. I would give Stang 6 stars if I could. Thank you to Robb and his staff for the great date nights out and meeting spots for friends lunches. We will be returning soon!
3.5? Could be a 4.
I really recommend the tables next to the main windows or go towards the back. It's not too loud and you can gave a great time with friends here.
The Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles were Delicious. I always get the Pineapple fried rice here as well. sweet and savory packed inside a pineapple! There is nothing to complain about when it comes to food. If you live around Baltimore and you love thai, this place is a must try.
That being said, I don't remember the restaurant being very lively. I love the mood, it's very "authentic" with wooden menus and the glass bottle water cup glasses(?). But it seemed a little quiet and maybe even dull with some of the lights off. If you like a quiet place, get some good chatting with friends going, you might like this place as well.
Nevertheless, 4 stars, the food shines over all the other things.
The food is always good and the happy hours food specials make it a very affordable early evening meal, even better on warm nights when you can dine on the sidewalk outside.
The service - while unfailingly friendly - is consistently spotty. We cannot recall a meal there when we didn't have to walk back to the servers' station to ask for something that had been overlooked like silverware or the bill.
So we're sitting again in the dining room awaiting a to-go container. We've been waiting for quite a while for that...and the bill which will hopefully reflect not what we ordered but what was brought to the table. As usual, there's a disconnect between the two.
Really like this place. The staff is friendly and accommodating, and I've found the food itself to be generously portioned and richly seasoned. One thing to bear in mind is that they tend to go a little hard on the spice level, so if you're not sure how spicy you want it, aim a little lower and get your hot spices on the side.
Though Baltimore doesn't have great Thai food in general, this is the top of the pile. All the dishes I've had from here are good. All their dishes are quality, the service is generally polite and quick, and they work hard to make customers happy.
GREAT food and GREAT drinks - you get your money's worth on both accounts! Energetic environment; service was a little slow the night we went but that didn't impact our overall experience. I would recommend this place for a date with your man or with the girls. The entrees are so large two people can share one entree. We ordered the crab fried rice, the green curry dish and the pineapple rice (signature dish). I can't forget we started off with the calamari appetizer - everything was fresh, the green curry sauce dish was rich - perfect with white rice. We will go back.
Enjoy!
The best fried rice I've ever had in my life by far. It is always well seasoned and both the chicken and the pork are moist and flavorful. The lunch specials are affordable for high quality food. The staff is always very friendly as well.
Lovely place! Great menu and happy hour on weekends. Lychee mojito was amazing. Seafood sizzle was a nice dish, it continues to cook while being brought to your table. Staff is very polite and attentive, and dishes come out very quickly, even when the place is busy.
Excellent food ...when. they actually have the food listed on the menu. Most of our top selections were not available. This is a BYOB place if you choose to have alcohol but there is a decent place on the corner to pick up beer and wine if you forget to bring something. The service is good but the atmosphere way too noisy. I would not go back to eat in the restaurant but I would order the food to go...just too loud to enjoy a meal.
My wife and I came here three times after getting great deals on Groupon. The drunken noodles were one of the spiciest things I've ever eaten. I enjoyed them, but my tongue is still recovering. My wife loved the pad Thai. The location was BYOB when we went. Check it out when you're in Mount Vernon.
I got the drunken noodles (extra spicy) and It was very good! The lunch special is a great deal and the ambiance is nice. They also have a bar should one feel like having some liquid food :)
