Wow, just wow. With the diners and the take out orders, this place is hopping. We were seated quickly and the food came out fast. My wife enjoyed the bagel and lox so much I swear she was licking the plate.. Our little one really enjoyed the chocolate chip pancakes. I couldn't pass up a crab cake even though it was breakfast time. My expectations were greatly exceeded.
Awesome breakfast! I called ahead and spoke with Theresa and she informed me that it was approximately a 15 minute wait and it is first come first serve…no reservations. I told Theresa that our group of 5 were staying at the Courtyard by Marriott at McHenry Row. Theresa gave excellent directions to the restaurant and we arrived and checked in. Incredibly our group of 5 was seated in less than 15 minutes. That’s when Jaimie took over and provided us with excellent service. We all had great breakfasts that were served up quick and hot just the way I like breakfast…but who doesn’t! I definitely recommend Southside Diner. They have incredible staff and provide an excellent meal that is reasonably priced. I had the crab omelette with house potatoes and it was delicious!
Service was fast food was delicious love this place for breakfast. Wife got spinach pie and I got the breakfast Pipeline with over easy eggs atop a mix of hash browns sausage cheese bacon.
Next I got chipped beef gravy breakfast with scrapple. The scrapple was excellent. Good place to try it if you've never had it. I did not like the chipped beef gravy, it was home cut lunch meats I think and the gravy was just okay.
Like a diner they have butter at the table which is good so that it's soft when you need it. Recommend you put the eggs right on top.
My experience is a little different than these other reviews. I’m a full time server here and adore each and every one of my amazing, loyal customers. The owners are TOP OF THE LINE amazing, staff is impeccable. We all work together as a team to make sure everyone has a great experience and we hope you all enjoy coming as much as we love serving South Baltimore and all the awesome visitors from all over! The food was great. Our server was attentive to us. I ordered chicken and Waffles with scrambled eggs. The chicken was nice and tender. I love Belgian waffles and our perfect, nice and fluffy, light. The eggs were good. Looking forward to my next visit. It's a small casual place but they also offer outdoor seating, which is great on the really nice days where it's not too hot or cold or windy. Children friendly as well. Good for small groups. I definitely highly recommend.
I don't know why I haven't visited Southside Diner sooner!
Even with the place being absolutely mobbed, the kitchen was crazy fast with our food & the front of house peeps were super friendly.
My husband and I both ordered Tillman Towers. I was so, so satisfied bc everything was perfectly seasoned, eggs were perfectly easy, and the home fries (chunky style, not shredded) had a perfectly crispy texture even after being buried in a mountain of chipped beef cream.
Also, the portion size was crazy big given the price. Only ding I could give is the coffee which was lackluster, but whatever, it's a diner! With how good the food was, I didn't care too much. 😆
Southside Diner was a diamond in the rough that I'll be excited to return to! 👌
This place really has the classic American diner feel: huge menu, booth seating and cheap prices! If you're looking for high end American food, then this place isn't for you. Came her after a night of drinking for brunch and it really hit the spot 👌
Only this is, their "home fries" are like hash browns with onions. BUT THEY HAVE SIRACHA HOT SAUCE SO THAT MAKES UP FOR EVERYTHING!!
Best breakfast in Baltimore. Last visit I got the corned beef hash. Delicious. This is my favorite. Its difficult to get a seat on the weekend. I try to go when I have a day off.
The place was very busy but got seated and waited on very fast. The food was right off the grill. I had the food faster then I could drink my coffee.
Enjoyed a late lunch on a weekday. Like other diners it's awesome to be able to get breakfast whenever you want. Sunny side or "dip eggs" were absolutely perfect and kind of wanted to order more so I could smother every bite of my waffle in yoke. My brothers side of gravy for the french fries was drool worthy.
It's in the Southside Marketplace (shopping center) center back left corner. They have outside seating which is nice but the parking lot is not much to view. I enjoyed eating inside because of the televisions and ambience. The staff is SO nice and patient which is great because I can be an indecisive eater.

I really enjoy Southside Diner. This has become my go-to for breakfasts. I strongly recommend trying the French toast ( not in picture), and the bacon! I always get extra-it’s that good. The staff is amazing, welcoming and work great together.

This was my first time stopping at the Southside Diner. Love the seating, love the layout, love the style of the business. I was seated instantly, a waitress was there almost immediately and got my order going. Before I knew it this huge omelette was delivered. I'm a big breakfast eater, and I can barely finish it. Plenty of ham Swiss and mushrooms on it, as much as I would possibly expect. It was delightful. The hash browns were good the white toast was way bigger than normal which was nice. All in all this was an absolutely terrific breakfast. Don't know what else to say. It was $10, but it was worth every cent. Absolutely worth the trip, two thumbs up.
The iteams my husband and I had are not listed. A ruben sandwich, the Rachel, fries with Gravy, Fish-and-chips, Meat loaf, Open face Turkey Sandwich and sweet tea (three different visits) food was excellent each time.😋 !!!!!

Ugh, I just love this place. Mike is exceptional when it comes to service. He remembers you by name and the staff are always pleasant. My company orders from here quite often so I do as well. they never get an order wrong! I just wish they'd cut the celery smaller for the tuna salad. lol other than that you cant go wrong with ANYTHING here. So stop by soon! Delicious Greek Salad with chicken.
