Haven't been in the NorthEast Market (Baltimore) for many years. Reason is that I no longer live i that area. But during the 1940s and 1950s may parents lived close to this market. They would shop there frequently for fresh poultry and fish. At one point I saw smoked eels hanging at one of the vendors stands. They looked similar to a snake but had a wonderful smokey aroma which I liked. My Mom bought one of the eels. I have loved that flavor ever since. Problem is that it is difficult to locate a retail source for smoked eels. Does anyone here know if there are vendors in the NorthEast market or perhaps Lexington Market which sell smoked eels. Not the canned smoked fish.

My grandparents sold flowers there. As I got older I worked for them. H. Zimmerman and Sons Florist. I worked selling fresh grated horseradish and coconut. It was hard work. Long cold days. I love to have them back.

This Is Where You Go To For All And Any Type Of Food! It's Another Lexington Market But Better Since Lexington Market Has Changed Over To New. Northeast Market Has Everything You Would Want! The Entire Family Can Go There With Different Appetites For Food And Come Out With Everything They Want. 💯👍

Smaller and more intimate than Lexington market, this place has really awesome spots for hoagies, fried chicken, smoothies and raw meats fresh vegetables. Great sandwiches too, try belly busters!!!!

First time going to the Northeast Market on Wednesday. I've never heard of this place. I'm glad I went there, because the food was on point. Nothing like good ole chicken wings and potato wedges to fill me up

I love Northeast Market. "BBQ & More" is located in the center and has the best fried catfish at an unbeatable price. All fish is cooked to order. I get my chicken from the spot on the corner near Monument street. The wings and fries are fresh.
