Tiny deli, so there is no seating. You walk in, place your order, and go out and wait by the benches. After 5 minutes or so, they bring your order out. We had a tuna wrap and two BLT sandwiches, and they were delicious! Heaps of fresh and washed lettuce with lots of tuna/bacon. Price was fairly reasonable, considering it is on a busy tourist street. It is nice to get a break from lobster or fried food. Friendly and easygoing attitude with a smile makes the whole experience even better. Give them a try when you don't know what you want to eat.

The clam cowder is veryyy good and has good flavor.
We took the big potatoe, which was ok, but the lobster stew... something like i never had and very very very good.
And for the people working there...multumim frumos!!!
I was not sure how this lobster roll would be since it looked small but it had a lot of meat and the warm butter roll was good. Not too many places offer the lobster roll warm in bar harbor.
The hot drawn butter lobster roll tasted good and felt like the right amount given the cost. The chicken avocado wrap wasn't worth it; I'd try something different if I went back. It was pretty dry and there was a lot of tortilla compared to filling. Same with the baked potato; could've used more butter and cheese. The idea of doing bagged lunches for hikers and cruisers is fantastic and seems like a niche for the area.
The thanksgiving sandwich was amazing. I saw ladies in the park eating them, and had to know where they got theirs. I picked up my own the next day and was so glad I did!!
If you're coming here, you're getting the lobster roll.

Excellent deli. Great menu selections, quick friendly service. And they have Pepsi products, my favorite. We had the chicken bacon ranch wrap, it was excellent, very large portion. Benches right out front to sit and eat under a shade tree. There are also lobster rolls, public parking right near by. You are close to the water so you can take your lunch down on the lawn and watch the boats in the harbor.
This turned out to be our go-to place for breakfast when the big breakfast restaurants were full. You can easily pick up a bagel or a lunch sandwich there it was very convenient and the attitude is great. They were very helpful. My group got bagels and breakfast sandwiches it was good enough that we went back several days.
We picked this place a bit at random to grab some lunch to take to Sieur de Monts and eat before hiking. The line out onto the sidewalk was a good sign. The folks inside were friendly and the service was surprisingly quick. My wife got a Tarragon lobster roll and I got a Reuben (my go-to sandwich). The Reuben was piled high and delicious, one of the best I’ve had. Since we’ve been in New England, I’ve had a couple of lobster rolls, and frankly didn’t see what the big deal was. That’s why I got a Reuben instead. When we sat down to eat, my wife gave me a bite of her lobster roll. That’s when I understood the big deal about GOOD lobster rolls. If you’re never had a lobster roll, and if you’re anywhere around Bar Harbor ME, make Downeast Deli the place you go. And grab a piece their blueberry pie for dessert. [Note: The 3 stars for Atmosphere is not a put-down. This isn’t a place you go to looking for atmosphere; it’s a place you go to for good food.]
Our favorite lunch spot in Bar Harbor. We got sandwiches to go for a hike one day and came back the next for the lobster roll, chowder, and pie special. Great food and friendly staff! Even with a long line, it goes fast.
Came here and got the clam chowder, lobster roll and blueberry pie lunch set for $35. Clam chowder was delicious. Lots of clams and creamy but not too heavy. Lobster roll was okay. Blueberry pie was good. We also got the lobster stew. It had at least 6 pieces of whole lobster claws in it. But the stew itself was too oily for our taste so probably wouldn't get it again. Overall, service was friendly and efficient. Pricing was market priced so I guess fair. Would return to try their other sandwiches as they did look pretty good.
Lobster roll was quite small, but good. Staff was super nice and helpful. It's a small order and go place so not much of an atmosphere. Worth a quick bite if you have a hard time elsewhere.
Got the lobster roll (hot with butter). So good!!! Super crowded on a mild October day. Plenty of lobster on the sandwich. It's a small place with no where to sit, take out only, so we walked to the nearby park on the harbor to eat and check out the views.

Got through the line quickly, and ordered the “Downeast deli delite”. The roll was good. Wasn’t the best lobster roll I’ve ever had but it’ll do. Considering spots next door charging $35 a roll. (Geddys). You also get a clam chowder & and piece of yummy blueberry pie. The chowder & pie makes the deli delite worth the money. So delicious. The employees are nice and kind. Giving a 5 star review for handling the lunch crowd and serving outstanding blueberry pie.
Delicious reuben with amazing bread and a generous heap of corned beef. No line, super friendly. Treats and water bowl if u have a dog. And no weird pressuring to tip when paying by credit card. Excellent place for carry-out deli sandwiches! Park in 15-minute spots in front of the post office.
Excellent sandwiches and great service. Grabbed an Italian bag lunch to take on the whale watching tour and enjoyed it while on the ride out to the whales. Highly suggest doing the same if you're taking the cruise
This is THE place to go in Bar Harbor for an amazing lobster roll. Grab a boxed lunch and go check out Acadia or grab a roll and take it down to the water front. Fast, friendly, fantastic. Definitely go here!

Up to me, I would like to have a little more salad inside to better match a lobster with bread.
Overall, just satisfied! They provide a super fast service and workers are welcoming and pleasant!
