Very tasty! Most authentic Japanese restaurant we've been to since we moved here. Only has dine in Friday, Saturday, and Sunday but can do take out the rest of the week (according to the sign). Fantastic portions for the price. The noise level was perfect. Small sushi bar so if that's your vibe and it's busy you might have to wait.
We will definitely be coming back!

Such a cute place for date night!!
Colors are so vibrant yet the place is so low key and cute they are so nice and attentive. The service is a bit slow do to the master piece they come out with. The dishes are so well put together they don't just throw the sushi on a plate and call it a day the presentation is key and they are so good at that. Now let's talk about the dishes...
They are so delicious! The fish is so fresh so vibrant, the taste is like no other the portions are big, we usually order alot because sushi sizes can be so small but in here they are big portions so hopefully you have a huge appetite. I love sushi and have gone to so many places but I find the small businesses to be more worth the money and they are definitely worth it . Drinks and dinner with my love was so romantic in this place after a hard day at work we came to unwind and that's exactly what it felt like in here..
It's perfect for families,date night or just for a couple of friends out for drinks and great food..

There were three of us in our party. There were no other tables in the restaurant occupied. And yet it still took over an hour for us to complete our meal. The soup and salads that went with the main courses were brought out before the appetizers. And the main course was very slow in coming. I will definitely go back to try again but this is not a place to go if you want to move your meal right along.
Sagano is definitely underrated 😑 my fiancé and i came here for hours birthday. It was very low key and there were only 2 other tables in the restaurant that had people at them.... This place definitely deserves a lot more credit. The service was very respectful and helpful when suggesting dishes and drinks. Once we got our food we were definitely surprised by the portion size as they were quite big. The food was so good and tasted fresh. We will definitely be back ☺️
The sushi was very fresh. The portions were large. Appetizers were delicious. Uni and spicy scallop sushi were amazing !
Hands down the best sushi I have ever had. No other restaurant in any city can compare. Service is slow when they are busy, but that is the price you pay for sushi this good.
This is my go-to sushi place in Barrington (lots of sushi options here). The quality compared to price for their standard rolls can't be beat. You pay more for the speciality rolls, but their standard rolls are cheaper then their nearby competitors, and they are so good/substantial that I never feel like I need a specialty roll.
Consistently excellent food and service in an interesting, friendly, creative and intimate atmosphere. Literally the best sushi period, created by a top chef who I believe has owned the restaurant the whole time.
I’ve been coming here for decades and have always been completely satisfied and amazed at how good it is.
I always highly recommend Sagano.
