While visiting Memphis, some friends invited us to Las Palmitas. The tortilla chips, salsa, guacamole, and queso were all excellent - freshly made and very flavorful. Thr fish tacos were awesome (I could've done without the cabbage, but I still inhaled them). I highly recommend Las Palmitas if you're in the Memphis area and you're looking for good Mexican!
The fish tacos are so good, we drive out to Bartlett from downtown Memphis for them.
Best Mexican food in Bartlett! Lupé (owner) makes everything fresh, even cuts the steak, chicken, etc. himself. If you want something that isn't on the menu, just let him know and he will make it for you. The salsa is the best I've ever had. Give it a try. It will be your new favorite place. Enjoy!
The food is great and the people that work here are great people. Its a must try.
My friend, Sacirani Roy, and I had dinner at Las Palmitas on Sunday night and it was so delicious. I had grilled Shrimp salad that was beautifully assembled and Saci had the potato and cabbage taco (vegetarian). Really superb food and great, friendly service.
So authentic and fresh! Love that it's a family owned business and love the family too! Everyone we have told about this yummy place has raved over it.
Chips and salsa made in house, so good you will be eating the crumbs. Shrimp tacos and a chicken fajita burrito for the main course. Both were very good. For desert we ate their version of cheesecake, wrapped and lightly deep fried. Forgot to get a picture of that though. Wonderful. Will be back again and again. I went to this place for my older brother birthday on 06/25/2022. You get to seat yourself which is pretty cool. My waitress quickly bought some chip and salsa over to the table. The chip was good as it was without the salsa. I decided to try the fajita nachos with steak on it. The steak was cooked like I wanted it. The grilled bell peppers connect well with the meal. My waitress was really sweet with serving me and my family.
Definitely a good place to check out. My wife and I went for lunch and she got the fajitas and I got a horchata and a fajita burrito. Everything tasted great and for $36, it's hard to beat. It is a smaller place and started getting busy as we were leaving. I could see times where there might be a wait to get in but I'd say it's worth it.
Service was good. Ordered a queso burger and a chicken Philly. The queso burger was just a cheese burger. It wasn't a special burger or anything. Tasted ok. The chicken Philly was more of a chicken sandwich. I
The chicken wasnt cut like Philly meat but the taste was decent. Everything was decent and it's worth a visit.
Homemade chips & salsa. The chips are somewhat thick. The salsa is more like a sauce. It has the consistency of tomato juice. It's tastes good, but the mouthfeel is not that of salsa. Chips & salsa are the first impression of Mexican restaurants and can be a make it or break it food for their guests, which is why I deducted 1 star.
The fish tacos were great. The sauce was excellent and the homemade guacamole put them over the top.
I tried a chicken street taco & it wasn't too my liking. It was grilled chicken, copied onion & cilantro on a corn Tortilla, that's it. It was dry & I prefer my tacos with salsa or hot sauce, lettuce, guac or sour cream.
My companion had a chimichanga & raved about it. The food was freshly prepared with what tasted like quality ingredients. I'll go back to try more.
Food was excellent. Went for Taco Tuesday. They chips and salsa are in house made and they swell. The items are not cheap but then this isnt Taco Bell. Small and not alot of atmosphere but your going for the food right.
Excellent service, good guacamole and super fresh homemade chips! Steak street tacos were delicious as well! Great local/family vibes.
I love the food here. Every time I've been the food is made by the owner. The torta cubana and enchiladas are my favorite. I highly recommend this little gem.
