Let me first begin by saying we did not make a reservation and although the restaurant seemed busy with multiple parties, we were seated within 5-10 minutes. This was our first time at the restaurant so we didn’t know what to expect. Our server, Silas, was very polite and attentive. Our food was served in a timely manner, plated perfectly, and was extremely flavorful. I had a pineapple infusion and blueberry mule- both were perfectly executed and arrived promptly. We also had the crab cakes (best we’ve ever had), salsa(superb) and queso, fish and tails, and a ribeye. Our steak and fish were cooked perfectly, and the grits were AMAZING! With the generous portions, we didn’t have room for desert. We will definitely be back again!
Wonderful night - we sat outside by the water fountains...our waitress was very attentive and our food was perfect. The banger shrimp appetizer was delicious. My husband had the steak with crabmeat on top and mashed potatoes and I had a cheeseburger with bacon and blue cheese crumbles. Both entrees were delicious
Came in on a Saturday around 3pm for a late lunch with an old friend! Cannot say enough great things. Our server Italy was amazing!! So friendly, attentive and enthusiastic! Our martinis- the spa and pineapple infusion were both great! We had the blackened fish tacos and the French dip which were both terrific too!!! We had a great experience and will be back!
Great Serice and great food!! Italy was our server and was so sweet and we loved her recommendations from apps to dessert!!
We live in New Orleans, have traveled all over the world and are definitely foodies. We always go into a new restaurant a little wary. We were so pleasantly surprised! I ordered the Catfish and Etouffee, and my husband had the Southwest Pasta. Now, we both thought the Catfish was very good, but the pasta was FANTASTIC! And surprising. I have never considered Chili Powder in pasta sauce! That plate was CLEAN by the end of the meal.
Our waiter was a very sweet young man who helped make the evening very enjoyable.
Definitely going back and bringing our family on our next trip to Baton Rouge.
Great service, amazing food and a unique atmosphere!! My husband and our family and friends had the private room for a small and intimate wedding dinner. We were late and came with double the party we expected yet we were met with nothing less than smiles and an eager waitstaff. They accommodated us very quickly. The manager is a gem! He had a special menu printed out just for us and placed at our for our guests. They also provided us with 2 bottles of champagne for toasting on the House. I’m so happy my friend recommended CCG for our special occasion. We will definitely be back!!
The service was impeccable. The gumbo is a must for an appitizer. The wait staff is incredibly knowledgeable on the wine list ad well as the entire menu. Great location. Must go if you want a classy meal for a reasonable price while still savoring Louisiana
Food was good relatively above average, didn't blow us out of our socks, but good for the price we paid. When in Baton Rouge again, We'd likely try another restaurant.
I've never eaten here and been disappointed by my order. The wait staff are always friendly and professional, while the food is outstanding. The steak salad or crawfish étouffée may be our favorites, but everything we've tried has been perfect. The manager of this location is top notch too. Always great to see him greeting guests and tables.
Excellent French dip and sweet potato fries! The Greek pasta salad lacked seasoning, but was ok. Our mouths were watering over the chicken fingers and banger shrimp plates we saw pass by and we're already planning our next trip!
Overall the food is good. We had the gumbo and seafod pasta. The gumbo was slightly undercooked and both were lacking on traditional/expected Cajun spices. As far as crawfish/shrimp to penne ratio on the pasta goes, I can say I'm very satisfied by the amount of seafood.
Loved it! We had the Spinach Queso, Sesame Salmon, and Southwest Pasta and they were all delicious! The Sesame Salmon on a bed of grits was uniquely special to the taste. I ordered it medium and it was slightly undercooked, but that's always better than over cooked. I made a happy plate!
Really enjoyed the food and the service was great! The crab cakes were very good, as was the fried catfish with étouffée. Our waiter, Robert, provided excellent service. Would recommend to anyone wanting a great meal
Good choice for downtown dining. Located across the street from the both the Hilton Hotel and Hotel Indigo in downtown Baton Rouge, the Capital City Grill offers a great dining option that is open for dinner and not just a bar. I found the food quality and overall value to be very good. An attentive and friendly waiter, a pleasant atmosphere, along with good food gave this place the thumbs up for me. I ordered the tilapia special topped with a pecan sauce, the shrimp and artichoke soup, and a salad.
We enjoy eating here. They may not always get it right the first time, but they will make sure it is taken care of. Good food at a good price. Nice atmosphere to dine or just have a drink.
Great food, underwhelming staff. I really enjoyed my CCG burger though the service was unprofessional. Our server was very kind but did not check on us in a timely fashion. The hostess was nowhere to be seen when we arrived and when we left and when she was around, she was gossiping with servers or on her phone at the hostess stand.
Good Stuff. Reasonable prices. Great portions. Very consistent. I like it.
Very Nice. Three of us went for dinner. We sat inside. Very pleasant and open atmosphere. My cohorts ordered the fish tacos which looked fantastic and they were very happy with them. I ordered the Greek salad. It is penne pasta with olives, artichoke hearts, tomatoes, and feta with vinagrette dressing. It was absulutely delicious. The menu had a pretty wide variety with burgers, seafood, sandwiches, pasta, and po boys. I would happily come here again.
Food was good, but service was incredibly slow, snotty, and somewhat rude.
This a great lunch place & should be on your short list when you're in the area or not. The pecan chicken salad was very flavorful and served over the house salad. The bread was FRESH & the staff ffriendly & efficient.
For when Tsunami is too crowded. Non offensive. Mainly for when Tsunami or Lucy's is too crowded.
This was a much better experince than the Chimes by LSU. The bacon swiss burger with blue cheese crumbles is awsome!!
Good food, great service.
Yummy!. They have a good variety of items to choose from and generous portions. I would recommend this resturant to anyone.

Casual dining with all the atmosphere of the French Quarter. A great variety of salads, sandwiches, seafood and steaks. Indoor and outdoor dining available at all locations. My favorite location is located in downtown in the first floor of The Shaw Center

One of downtown's nicer dining establishments is Capital City Grill's Shaw Center location. There you can find lunches and dinners served up daily in a business-casual atmosphere. Their menu has a Louisiana feel to it with crab claws and gumbo as starters
