Extremely friendly & helpful staff serving authentic, delicious, Vietnamese cuisine. The grilled pork fresh spring rolls and grilled pork vermicelli bowl were incredible. Highly recommended!
I really love the food. The atmosphere is not the most inviting, but the staff is very polite and willing to help guests sample Vietnamese food for the first time,
I often use reviews but never write them...... until now. I've seen Dang's high marks and good reviews and been curious but the place isn't in the best location so I opted for other places. Today I decided to try them and I can kick myself for not doing so earlier. The place was nice and clean. It smelled as good as the food turned out to be. Our waitress (and everyone else) was very pleasant and helpful.
Best pho ever!!! Service is very good too. I've been a few times and everyone is always so polite. Very laid back atmosphere. Gotta try their iced coffee, so sweet and delicious.
Omg one of the best places to get Vietnamese food and a good friendly vibe. I literally eat there ALOT when I get the chance. I bring many people who come from out of town there for lunch that it can become a easy routine.
Wonderful crispy duck noodle soup! The duck is served separately so stays crispy; broth flavorful even before adding usual vegs, line etc.
Roast pork bahn mi will melt in your mouth. Bread crispy outside (more po boy like) with tasty crispy strips of pork. Add hoisin and it's heaven.
Best Vietnamese in town. Quality and quantity. We moved from Texas about 3 years ago and one of the things that we miss is good Pho. Well this isn't just good, it's great. This is one of the best pho places I've been to.. The menu is full of variety and can I say inexpensive! From the spring rolls to the huge servings of pho. This place is so confident with its broth they give you a serving when you order non-pho dishes. The pho broth is fresh And full of flavor. We have been to every Viet restaurant in Baton Rouge, LA and this place is the best. On a side note, I like that they give you big glasses for beverages instead of the small ones.
Pho-tastic. So, I've eaten at EVERY Vietnamese place in BR, and Dang's has the best pho. It isn't even really a competition. They win by a mile. Their viet. subs are really tasty too. They also have great customer service. Highly recommend.
Was visiting LA and was looking for a "worth the drive food" and we found it! Food was amazing! A must try when you happen to be in Baton Rouge. Service was excellent as well.
They have the best kinds of noodles in town. Pork noodles, beef noodles, seafood noodles. Dry or with broth. Equally breathstaking. You will be tempted to eat all then ask some more for togo. They have new stuff EVERY WEEKEND!! They're open all 7 days now, great for those who want a fresh quick delicious lunch with colleagues like me or my husband. This restaurant is also family-friendly. We can eat while our kids go watch the gold fish in their tank, pretty amazing.
Don't be fooled by the humble deco or appearance of the place. Their great food and awesome service are the answers to all.
Enjoy!
Picked up an order last week. Great food, I will be back!!!
A hidden gem. Excellent food! Fast, friendly, informative service. My fav Vietnamese in BR
The Discriminating Palate
+4.5
My Favorite Vietnamese in BR. Dang's is my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Baton Rouge. For years I was kinda scared to try it, because it's in an intimidating run-down looking strip mall, and in the past the owners didn't speak English. However, since the new owners/management took over, I feel much more comfortable going there, and the food has improved immensely. A lot of people come for the pho, but the real star here are the banh mi (Vietnamese poboy, which is a steal at just $3) and the bun bo hue (spicy beef soup with a fabulous broth) which are absolutely delicious. I eat the banh mi and bun bo hue as a sort of "Vietnamese combo meal" and it makes for a terrific meal.
Happy I finally tried it!. After so many times walking past it on the way to the market in the same strip mall, I decided to try it out. The pho tai was absolutely delicious, and I loved the spring rolls. My boyfriend had the bun, and I want to buy a bottle of their sauce that came with it. It was fantastic, and I have had zero luck in trying to reproduce it at home.
It definitely is a hole in the wall place, but definitely a hidden gem if you are looking for delicious Vietnamese food in Baton Rouge.
WOW!. This place has been here forever it seems and always leaves me saying wow.The Bon mi,Rare Beef Salad,Pho and anything you can imagine is some of the best food in this town.
Payment. They are now accepting all major credit cards!
I love this place. The Pho is the most consistent in Baton Rouge. Reasonably priced too. Beware, the service, despite improving over the last few months, is, well, not the most prompt but is typical of a Vietnamese restaurant and is acceptable based on the quality of the food. So, the Pho broth has a great savory beef flavor with the usual accents of herbs, spice and vegetables. I probably eat it 2-5 times a month. It's great and so is their combination Banh Mi. Can't be beat for the price.
Everything on their menu is good. Not only does this place have good pho, they have good com dish, vermicelli, spring rolls, you name it.
Price is reasonable, but the only drawback is service.
There's only one person serving the entire restaurant so he/she may forget to check by to see if you need some assistance.
The food comes out about 20-30 minutes after you order, but man... when it comes out, it is Good!
What I do is I call about 10 minutes before I arrive here to let them know what I want, and I only need to wait like 5 minutes when I get there to eat their heavenly pho.
Great food. Don't judge this place by it's looks. It have great Vietnamese food. Every time I've been there it's been filled with Vietnamese clientele and we've been the only Westener there. Great Pho. My brother swears by the bun.
Next door to Vin Phat supermarket. Shop there after eating.
Dang's Restaurant is a quaint little Vietnamese restaurant. It feels very rustic and peaceful inside. It's almost like being inside of an old house. The food is about average. But then again, my wife is Vietnamese. I'd say it's worth a visit if you want a peaceful place to eat good pho. The prices are also super cheap.
After months of being in the Caribbean we were DESPERATE for pho. On the drive from New Orleans to Houston I looked up best pho and Dangs popped up. I must say the broth was very satisfying, and really hot the spot in this little hole on the wall. My only knock is that I ordered the small and they charged me for a large. They said they actually gave me a large, thugh it looked more like a small. Anyway it was tasty, veggies were fresh and crisp. I got the beef combination and Mark got the pork combination.
Lovely staff! The food was PHENOMENAL!! We had the Pad Thai, delicious. The chicken curry with rice, my absolute favorite. The pork and chicken egg rolls with their house sauce. Absolutely the best in town. Finally, I decided to try duck for the first time, and it was honestly to die for. πππ 100/10 please please go here for a great eat.
Food was very good! We had the rice clay pot with beef, the seafood egg rolls, and chicken wings. Quick and friendly service.
Dang's is verifiably some of the best Vietnamese food in the greater Baton Rouge area. Their boba is addictive, their crispy duck is mouthwatering, and their phΓ² outshines any other restaurant I've been to. It's the perfect rainy day comfort food, our go-to celebratory dinner, and the warmest bowl of home. They load you up with sweet/salty bone broth, bright veggies, and loads of meat or seafood (your preference). Pair that with an iced Thai milk tea and I've yet to meet anyone who wasn't impressed. 10/10 we come here all the time and we love it. Cannot recommend it enough.
I've been going to Dang's for over 20 years through changes in ownership and menu alike. In recent years the menu has changed and become a bit slimmer with its offerings but the quality overall has improved somewhat. There isn't a huge amount of diversity in the items available but there is definitely more diversity and consistency here than elsewhere which is why I keep returning. The environment is cozy qnd comfortable, the staff are humble, patient, and attentive. If you enjoy Vietnamese cuisine you will very likely appreciate their food and their reasonable pricing to quantity for the majority of their menu.
Authentic and FAST! It's a bit out of our way for lunch but dang, it's worth the drive. One of the better noodle bowls I have had to date. Forget the hipster joints. Go where the food is real.
Food was served extremely quick. The staff was really nice and attentive. I was craving food from home and it really hit the spot! Would totally come again.
Dang' is a popular local Vietnamese joint in east Baton Rouge that's been there for a few years. Known for having some if the best Pho in the area. If you are in the mood for traditional Vietnamese fare, they have a huge menu full of yummy stuff. Don't think twice, just go there.
