If you have never tried this place, make the time. Amazing home-style cooking, Fried chicken Wed and fish Fryday. Bring cash, no cards. It's really good stuff. I've been coming here since before I could walk. Hasn't changed much since then, in the best way possible. Best sweet corn bread and mustard greens I've ever eaten.

Awesome food, with a great group of people. Mrs Evelyn cooks the best food you’ll ever want to eat. Glen, Tonja, Kelly, Margie, Jenn, Brooke, and all the rest of the people in the back will treat you like family. My family has been eating there for many years. People!!!!!! Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to lunch. You won’t be disappointed!!!!

Best home-cooked food around... Best fried chicken I've ever had! The people who run it are fantastic - Mr. Glen treats everyone like family. Haven't had anything I didn't love yet! Crawfish etouffee is great, beef tips are fall apart tender.

Today was my first time visiting here. I follow them on Facebook and share the menu daily. I watch Mr Glenn and his daughter Tonya draw for the free lunch on Fridays. The video wasn't up yet when I got on Facebook this morning so I forgot about it today. My sister and I decided to go eat here today and try it out. While eating our lunch we were talking to Tonya and she was looking at the Facebook page and asked me if I know Donna Doucet. I said hey that's me. She says no kidding? Well you won today! What's the chances of that....the one day I miss the morning video I win!!! The food was amazing and the staff and owners are awesome! Don't forget to like and share!

I travel all over the world with my job. Every now and then you run across a little gem of a place to have a good, southern home cooked meal. Here it is! Probably one of the top three cafes in the county imho. All of their food is absolutely amazing. Everyone treats you like family, and you almost feel like you’re at your grandma’s house for Sunday dinner. All puns and jokes aside, this place is as good as you will find anywhere in the country. Oh, if the name puzzles you, don’t let it. It’s part of an actual stockyard.

Rasta, H.I.M. loves the Stockyard Cafe when I and I am in the mood for a working guy's home cooked hot lunch. This place is the real thing Country, trucks, cattle, and a friendly Deep South vibrations. Respectfully One Love Smitty

Stopped in after hearing how good the food was.. I got lasagna, jams and green beans with a second plate of jambalaya, yams and cabbage.. the food was okay.. the line gets long during lunch time and if your eating in it's kinda tight in there so be prepared to move your chir out the way of traffic sometimes.. it's definitely worth trying.. didn't take to long to get food and prices range from 8 to 13 bucks for dinner.. portions are nice and dinner comes with tea.

Country food at it's best. Some may say it's excellent soul food. A full meal and always good.

Fine Plate Lunches. For my first meal here, I enjoyed the White Beans and Sausage, Greens, and Fried Okra. Delicious to the last bite and the cornbread muffin was on point as well. A Really good sweet tea was built into the price. You would have no clue looking from the outside that this place even existed. The cars outside and The line inside said otherwise. Highly recommended to me and I will pass that recommendation forward. Go here!

You can call in your order or fine in, i think the have hamburgers, to. Always eat the buffet. Buffet with about 6 meats to choose from and 6 veggies, sometimes more, you get 3 on your plate. The food is good. If you have to stand in line, unless your early you will, you won't wait long. Tonya runs the place with a smile on her face. You won't be sorry

My family and I from Virginia met up with my Dad's school pal and his wife from Simmesport, La. It was decided to meet and the Stockyard for lunch. Wow, we were so impressed by the friendliness of the staff, Tonja, Jed and the food was good ole southern cooking! And no, we did not leave there hungry. It was delicious! Tonja brought everyone in my party a side dish of Jambalaya on the house. Thank you for a most pleasant meal!
