This was the best pho i have had in a ng time. I have eaten this all over the country and have never had oxtail pho. Unbelievable beef flavor.
Loved this place! Everything we ordered was wonderfully spiced and perfectly cooked. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves Vietnamese cuisine.
My wife recently got elected to the board of the Louisiana Library Association so we were in Baton Rouge for induction. We always like to eat Vietnamese (If you go to Alexandria, La. try Pho U). We decided to try Saigon Noodles. Place was packed for lunch. We got the Vietnamese egg rolls, delicious with traditional flavors, definitely not Chinese, Saigon Quails 3 pcs. cooked in a yummy sweetish sauce, for our main courses I had seafood stir-fried noodles & vegetables that was so good, and my wife had the beef stew w/toasted French bread (don't expect a thick American style or flavor) she absolutely adored. All in all a great meal with lotsa flavors. Service was okay but the place was packed and the wait staff was doing the best they could and they were still friendly. The restrooms and dining area are a little worn and could use some work but it is clean and the food great. I usually get a banh mi at Vietnamese places but they didn't have it (that's a Vietnamese poboy). If you like to cook Asian food as I do, there is an Asian Market only a couple of doors down with a wide selection of products.
We have to go back in a month or so, we will be back.
Hands down, this is the best vietnamese food currently in baton rouge.
I've eaten there several times and have enjoyed it. The place is always clean. We always have good service. And we eat the white meat chicken pho and the autumn spring roll. Both are excellent. My only complaint is that they use wooden chopsticks. I hate wooden chopsticks!!
Decor is great. We had prompt service when we arrived & while ordering, but it took about 15 minutes to get a tea refill. Even though there were 2 noodle dishes that allow you to get tofu instead of meat, I doubt the sauce is vegetarian. There are delicious winter rolls that are labelled as vegetarian, but you're out of luck besides that. I'd love to go back if they had more choices for me. My husband raved about the pho he ordered.
Perfect lunch break away from work.. Love this place! I eat here often for lunch because it is quick, cheap, and very tasty. It also helps that the place is so darn cute on the inside. Makes it a nice break from work. I am never disappointed by their food and have tried many menu items. I have only received poor service, but the waitress did seem new to the trade. It wont keep me from going back.
Ate here tonight for the first time. We've tried all the other Vietnamese restaurants in town, and we are regulars at a number of them. The Pho at Saigon noodles is the best in town, in my opinion. Also had the spicy beef soup, which was also incredibly rich. For appetizer we had the spring rolls, which were decent, and the sugar cane shrimp, which I didn't care for at all. Previous reviewers complained about the service, but during our visit the waiter was polite and very attentive to the end, even though the restaurant was full. Overall great dining experience, we definitely will be returning!
Love the foods !!! How could you not like that bowl of soup !!! I ate everything in that bowl.
My husband and I was in the mood for something different for dinner last night. So, a friend highly recommended Saigon Noodles. When we first walked in, we were greeted by a nice young gentlemen. Being its our first time there, we asked for some recommendations. He was very patient and walked us thru the whole menu. I had the grilled pork with vermicelli and my husband had the oxtail pho. Everything tasted AMAZING!!! AWESOME FOOD PLUS AWESOME SERVICE!!! We can't wait to go back!
Current favorite Vietnamese in town. The spring rolls here are amazing! The Autumn and Summer are a must-try! The main dishes are also delicious covering the basic pho, bun and rice combination dishes. Their menu has pictures and good write-ups for each type of Vietnamese dish making this the place to bring Vietnamese newbies.
