This place is awesome! We ended up going 3 nights in a row. My girlfriend has a dairy allergy and has never had soft serve, other than the typical Dole whip. They have oatmilk soft serve which is a real game changer. She got a twist and had it in a sugar cone, a waffle cone, and as a sundae. I stuck with the regular chocolate soft serve in a waffle cone. The waffle cones are homemade, a little softer than what you usually expect, but a much richer flavor. I had it 3 nights in a row so that's how I felt about it. The place was packed with a line out the door each night, but we were never in line for more than 10 minutes. The staff was polite, friendly, and efficient. If we had gone there sooner we probably would have gone every night of our vacation. Overall this is a great place for anyone looking for ice cream, but especially mixed groups of vegans/non-vegans or people with dairy allergies.
We have been living in the area for over 2 years now and always drove passed Skipper Dipper but never tried it until last night when I was looking up vegan ice cream flavors and they have oat milk based vanilla and chocolate soft serve. When we got there, there was parking in the lot also on the street. There was a line which is totally expected but they have their system down pat that you’re barely waiting for long. They come to you for you to try flavors and order what you want which makes their serving system very effective. Everyone was super friendly despite the place being packed and my fiancé is like die hard hard ice cream fan and he loved the Elvis ice cream and peanut butter pie together! I’m so happy I was able to find a delicious dairy gluten free ice cream shop on island with excellent service! We will be back!
They also have gluten free cones too!
My daughter and I with my grand children. Visit as often as we can. Excellent customer service! The oat soft serve tastes delicious compared with some other places. Good serving sizes. I really enjoy skipper dipper. They have the lines down when it’s super busy. Love that as well
Best ice cream on the entire island! I usually get the milkshakes because they're outstanding but I got a banana split this time and holy cow it's awesome!!
Voted #1 on the island and in our book they deserve it! Our soft serve ice cream was larger than our heads. There were an incredible amount of choices! It overwhelmed us at first! When we got there and saw the line we thought we would be there for an hour but it took less than 10 minutes. Their system of taking orders is flawless! Our server was incredible! Death by chocolate was amazingly delicious! Definitely a must do if you are in LBI.
First time here to enjoy its ice cream. Its parking lots are convenient for the customers. It has outdoor seating for you to enjoy your ice cream. Price is reasonable and it tastes great. I had the peanut butter chocolate Kiddie cup... It pretty big and delicious... Staffs also came out to serve you wet hand wipes... Very nice...
The Skipper Dipper is absolutely phenomenal!!! It is so difficult finding a place to accommodate allergies and this place was just amazing! Their allergen menu is fantastic and they have a wonderful variety. There is no doubt we will be spending every last night of our vacation enjoying their delicious ice cream! I haven't been to Skipper Dipper in 22 years and it was still as I remember. Been there 2 nights in a row reliving my childhood memories with my son. He loved it. My nephew has many allergies and his parents were super happy that he could enjoy ice cream as well.
Amazing ice cream parlor. Had literally everything you could possibly want plus lots of extras you never knew existed. My son was pumped to have an ice cream cone literally made out of a chocolate chip cookie. I was happy with a cherry dip cone as nobody carries cherry anymore. Hard and soft ice cream available. Line was loooooong, but staff works through it with impressive efficiency. We ordered and received our ice cream before our portion of the line even reached the entrance to the building.
As always so courteous, so professional and pristine on the cleanliness level. There's a reason this great ice cream shop is always busy. Families can count on them for great tasting flavors and great pricing!!!
