Where do I begin? If you want an absolute pleasant eating experience, eat at Casa Lola Kitchen, in Cornelius Oregon. To start our meal off we ordered the Topas de Mole. Nice thick, home fried tortilla chips covered in a luxurious mole sauce, topped off with Mexican cream and queso fresco. This was my first time trying mole, and I was not disappointed. For her entree, my wife ordered the Filete de Pescado al Tequila. Red snapper with a butter tequila sauce and served with rice. The fish was tender, moist, not too fishy, and oh so flaky. The sauce was a delicious compliment to the lovely filet. I can safely and confidently say that this was the most delicious fish dish I have eaten and it's incredibly simple. For my entree, I went with the Fajita Nachos and I added steak. These nachos used the same tortilla chips as our appetizer, and they were perfect. The bell peppers and onions added a delicious garden fresh taste to the dish. They were also charred to perfection which added a hint of smoky sweetness with every bite. The jalapenos were spicy, charred, and an incredible addition as well. The melted cheese was mixed in with more of their delicious mole sauce and to top it off, was a lovely drizzle of Mexican queso fresco, which added an element of creaminess to the meal. The amount of food was perfect for our little family of three. We shared our food with our little one instead of ordering her a meal, which still left us all full and satisfied. To finish off our lovely evening, we ordered the horchata to go, and had the chance to taste the Arroz con Leche. A delicious, cold rice pudding. The rice was perfectly cooked and the flavor was wonderful. My Puerto Rican wife has never been able to find a rice pudding as good as her family's, until now. Overall, this meal was amazing. The ambiance was perfect, the food was stellar, and the service was incredible. 10/10

Firstly, I believe service is paramount, above all else. We tried Casa Lola for the first time a couple of nights ago and had a fairly negative initial experience. Following that visit, I left a negative review and noted that I would update it if the restaurant contacted me to remedy the situation. Carlos and Karla both took very proactive measures to try to resolve the errors, even noting that they were having an impromptu staff meeting to address the issues that came into play. I have to say that it was likely the most positive customer service experience that I've had in years. The ownership here actually cares about your experience. And where we were resolved on not returning, Carlos and Karla have convinced us to give them another try. In a world where service really seems to have suffered, having a response from someone who really cares about service was a breath of fresh air, truly. Mistakes do get made, but fixing them is a real litmus test. Casa Lola stands out where service matters. We'll look forward to a second try and update the review after.

Ordered the pork shank and was really happy with it. Great flavors and serving size was large. I wish the dish was served with tortillas, that would have me the dish perfect. Service was a bit meh. We weren't checked on often, and the server couldn't suggest or give an opinion on a margarita.

First time, came on a strong recommendation so we had high expectations. This place can cook! The Filete de Pescado al Tequila was uniquely flavorful..delicious. One of the best fish dishes I've had in the Northwest. The Taquitos de Papa were perfectly cooked, and the potato filling came through nicely. This place echoes the ambience and flavors of a fine restaurant in Mexico City. My only critique was our service, had some delays.

Service was excellent! Food was excellent! Atmosphere was excellent too! It's been a few months since we visited, looks like they expanded their menu since our last visit. Today (Saturday) they had their brunch menu out and it had many great items to choose from, however, the Wife and I ended up ordering off the main menu; she had menudo, and I had chicken mole enchiladas. Both of our meals were delicious. (I'm not a fan of menudo, so I'll take her word for it)

Tasty entrees never ending chips and salsa, nice quiet dine in experience and friendly staff, plenty of parking space. Need any more reasons?

Pozole Where: @casalolapdx First impressions about the place: It is a small restaurant and bar on Scholls ferry road in beaverton. Approximately 15 minutes drive for Hillsboro residents and 30 minutes drive from Portland. If you go on a weekday, place is neither too crowded nor too empty. What did I order: Before you get main course, they give you complimentary fresh chips and salsa Pozole. As per the restaurants description, it is a Guajillo broth with pork shoulder and hominy corn and topped with cabbage , radish, onions and crispy corn tortilla on the side. Broth has a hearty tone to it with strong sour notes. Spice level was mild to medium. This was my first time having hominy corn and I would definitely love having more of this ingredient. The corn was a great addition to the broth. Pork was soft and well seasoned. The only thing which seemed slightly out of place was the crispy corn tortilla. A side of rice would probably pair better however this is just my personal choice. The verdict: place has interesting Mexican dishes. Wouldn't mind going there once in a while for a change.
