Great Local Sushi Place. We love this place. The service is super friendly. The quality of the sushi is great, beautifully prepared and always fresh. Prices are very reasonable too. We typically do sushi, but have brought friends who have opted for non-sushi items on the menu and they were quite happy as well.
Good quality, fresh sushi and Japanese grill. Friendly staff. Kid friendly.
I was struggling while writing this review, I'm in between 3 stars or 4 stars and can't decide which one to go with. My first image of this restaurant is very good, I like the decoration when I step in, it's very typical Japanese decoration and I feel they should have delicious food. However, I was kind of disappointed with the food itself. My major concern is two things: 1) the sashimi is warm, I never got such temperature of fish previously in a premium Sushi place (I count average cost per person $40+ as a premium place), the fish should be stored in a cold place and keep the temperature low. 2) Sushi rice is not meet my expectation, it's a little bit hard than it should be and not in a good balance of sweet/sour, a good Sushi rice should be in a good balance of soft&hard, and taste kind of sweet with a little bit sour. Well, there is still something good about the food, they offer more amount of fish than other Sushi places, the Sashimi and Sushi are much bigger than normal. So, after struggling for a long time, I decided to rate this place as 4 stars, since I believe the negative side could be improved in the future, and I like the decoration.
Very friendly staff. High quality sushi at affordable price range. Highly recommended if you want something decent maybe once a month or so. This was my second time, and I really enjoyed it.
Grew up in Bellevue and never knew of this great restaurant. Found it tonight, and absolutely recommend. Exactly what I was looking for... solid sushi and japanese food. Not trying to be too fancy, just very good flavors. Much better than I Love Sushi... cleaner and better quality. Now my go to in Bellevue for sushi and japanese food.
Found Sushi In Joy during our vacation. The service was excellent and the food was amazing. We tried a mix of the hot foods and sushi. The highlight of our meal was the salmon poki. It has the Hawaiian spices and tastes just like the poki we had in Hawaii! Their sushi was very fresh. The ramen was excellent - we tried both the dry and soup based ramen. All the dishes had great portions sizes. We were stuffed! Hubby said this was the best sushi dinner on our trip so far! We highly recommend Sushi In Joy if you are in town!
What a great little Sushi place! We got all this food pictured in the kitchen bento box for dinner. The waitress/host was probably the sweetest waitress I've met in months. I might deduct a star because the bento box came with these sushis and I don't really like sushi... Next time I'll try the salmon sashimi as that's the only sushi I really like. The table felt so private though I felt like I was at a really nice place (despite just being in the middle of suburban set of shops). The mixed tempura had two shrimps and it was so good and well done.
Sushi in Joy is my favorite restaurant in Bellevue! The friendly and helpful staff is there every time I visit, greeting me with a kind smile each time. The food is delicious and everything I have tried has far surpassed my expectations. Most certainly worth visiting!
