Food good, chicken and hot and sour soup was delicious, lo mein fair to good, rice about average. Portions could be a little bigger. They forgot to put in the condiments on the next order a few days later, as well as the fortune cookie, and when mentioned on the next visit they just acted like whoops too bad you lose.
May have to check out other Chinese restaurants in the area. We'll see.
When I first moved to the area I was on the hunt for good Chinese food. Imagine my fortune with one being so close to my house! I now eat it at least once a month.
China sea is your standard east coast fare Chinese food. The portion sizes are average and the value is pretty dang good. The egg rolls are crispy and just greasy enough. General Taos is super saucy, but tasty.
The only thing that’s overpriced, IMO, is the crab Rangoon. I won’t order those again. Everything else has been super fantastic!
They have the most well prepared General Tso’s that I have ever had. So many restaurants make a great dish but by the time you get your takeout home or the delivery arrives the breading/batter has gotten soft. That is not the case with China Sea. This chicken was very crunchy and delicious when it was delivered and it is still not soggy the next day, even after being reheated in thw microwave. The broccoli is a bit under cooked for my liking, but that’s ok. They also do very good fried rice.
I’ve had their food several times now and it’s always good, but of course you don’t think to leave a review until something very good or very bad happens! I went there today and didn’t realize they had a cc minimum, it was my first time picking it up inside, but the person at the register was very kind and accommodating. Might seem minor, but I had a long day at work so this could have broken me lol. Just the fact that she let it slide this time solidified me wanting to return. And I’m not kidding when I say it’s in my top 2 Chinese restaurants in Pgh. Very pleased to live nearby this place.
I been going for years! At least 15years and the taste of the food haven't changed. China Sea is the only place I eat Chinese from and my children as well. No matter where I live or have lived I travel to get China Sea! Lol
Got a big order from here the other day. It was my first time eating here. All of our food was hot, crispy, delicious, vegetables cooked perfectly. Szechuan Shrimp was exactly how I like it. Perfect amount of sauce, thickness of sauce appropriately coated the shrimp and vegetables and was a nice sized portion. I moved to the north hills 9 years ago and I never found any place that made Szechuan Shrimp as good as the place where I used to live until I ordered from here. I will definitely recommend to order from here.
Delivery person had rescue dog with her! I’m so grateful that u protect ur workers by allowing a protective factor, in this case a doggo 🥰. She’s so good, friendly & I’ll order again soon if she brings my food
A typical Chinese take out place with some booth seating in front. All of your Chinese favorites are available. Decent prices, decent food. Doesn’t get too crowded. $10 minimum for credit card purchases. Located on busy Lincoln Avenue
