The food was great! The sandwiches were all quite different (my personal fave - spinach artichoke in phyllo dough) and the baked goods!! Phenomenal. The scones were great, too. Probably some of the best scones I’ve had. The tea was great, and I really enjoyed the company of the owner! She sat and chatted with us for a bit - you can tell she puts a lot of heart and soul into her food.
Came to Maryland with my girlfriend on a much needed vacation. We stopped in while shopping through Berlin. Sherry (I don't know if I spelled this right) accommodated us despite us not having a reservation. She actually opened the door for us when it was locked and she was still prepping.
She then described all our options in full detail and to my surprise she hand makes every item on the menu. She took the time to describe how she makes the items and was literally hand whipping cream still when we arrived.
The experience was truly incredible. The sandwiches were perfect, each its own flavor and profile. The sweets couldn't have been more incredible. She has a special way she makes everything which would impress any executive chef.
Tea was flavorful and she was very proud of everything. There was eccentric artwork which was also fun to learn about. We spent a good 20 minutes pacing and looking at the walls.. Just ask her and she is happy to tell you all about all of it.
If you come here, you should expect to take your time and do things her way. You will be glad you did anyhow. You cannot do justice to the experience by describing, it must be experienced yourself.
Friendly,(Sherrie the owner), variety of teas. Make reservations, she usually doesn't take walk-ins, since she does all the cooking, serving etc. Personal attention
