I love having Rice Inn right around the Corner! Their food is delicious, and always fresh! It is so convenient to call in my order, after work and pick it up on my way home! If your looking for the best Chinese in the South Hills, look no more.

This was my first visit to Rice Inn. Located in a former Pizza Hut, I was surprised at how modern and clean the inside was. I ordered Hot Tea ($1.75), and chose the Green Curry Tofu ($7.00) from the Thai Lunch Specials, which also came with an egg roll, and I chose steamed rice (fried rice was the other option). The service was fast and pleasant, and the food was pretty good (Not as good as some Thai places, but good) and the veggies were very fresh, especially the crisp green beans. I would like to come back sometime and try it again!

We were so happy with our dinner this evening! This was our first time at the Rice Inn. My green curry was perfect! This dish was full of flavor. I have been to several thai restaurants and always order a curry dish. This was better than all of the rest! I can't wait to return for this dish! Our server was very friendly.

Very Impressed. The wife and I were in the mood for Chinese food. I have always passed this place since we live in Bethel Park but I have never stopped here probably because I was a little skeptical it used to be a Pizza Hut converted in a Chinese restaurant.. Well tonight we decided to give it a try, I called and got a nice girl on the phone who spoke very good English and even repeated my order back to me to make sure it was correct. I was going to opt for pick up but she said they had delivery so being it is ZERO degrees outside today I said to deliver it and she said it would be 45 minutes. The delivery was even a little early, they made it in about 35 minutes. The delivery lady was friendly and I signed my credit card slip and gave her a cash tip. When I opened up the badgeverything was packaged very nicely and even double bagged. Getting into the food I had the general tso;s an egg roll and we split the won ton soup. My wife had the healthy platter option with the chicken and vegetables. We both enjoyed our food a lot. The quality of my general tso's was excellent, the chicken was real pieces of white meat chicken and not like the crap dark chicken you get at other places. The sauce was excellent. I might ask them to make it a little hotter next time. The egg rolls were also a good size and tasted excellent. This place really surprised me in a good way for never being there before and getting delivery for the first time from them. I will definitely be ordering from here again if not stopping in. The food portions were also a good size. I have plenty to take to lunch tomorrow. If you pass this place on the way home in Bethel give it a shot I really recommend it.

I'm a fan. I've dined in at the Rice inn just once. But i've ordered take out & gotten delivery a few times now. I love that they offer sushi for delivery. So great. I'm a BIG fan of their miso soup, and the vegetable lomein. Every time we get food from there is always so fresh & hot, which with delivery isn’t always the case other places. We had a great experience when we dinned in. All the food came quickly, was delicious, and everyone was very polite. They sold us, so we will continue to give them our business.

Not Baaaaad. Been to Rice Inn twice. 1st time was rough, cold day, heater was being worked on...but the food was decent. Gave it another try. The crispy green beans are very good. I've not had a problem with the sushi, tastes good to me.
I ordered the Pad thai as well. Ive never had Pad thai...and admittedly, it smelled...off. I thought maybe it was an exotic spice or something...so I worked through it, and it tasted good.
Other than the cold day being cold, the service seemed very attentive, and timely. I like the place, its quiet, and décor is calm, the best an old pizza hut can get. The menu is vast, sooo skip the pad thai and get a Chinese dish or sushi.

Just what I was hoping for!. I have a simple litmus test for Chinese restaurants, and it comes as a result of my 30 years of experience of eating at Chinese restaurants all over the U.S. (mainly California) and in mainland China. My test? "Kung Pao Chicken." It's always the first thing I try at a Chinese restaurant, because I have experienced Kung Pao Nirvana, and I have had way too many disappointments. A disappointing Kung Pao experience usually leads to "no second chance" from me because there are choices one can make.

When I saw the "grand opening" signs for Rice Inn at the old Pizza Hut location next to Walmart in Bethel Park, I didn't want to get my hopes up. I actually waited until I saw a couple of Yelp and Urbanspoon reviews before I decided to get my dining partner to join me for a meal there. (you can't be too careful these days...) My first impression was, "HEY, they've actually dressed up this old Pizza Hut pretty well!" They even managed to do something with those weird trapezoid Pizza Hut windows that we all know and love. The place was simply decorated, and was very inviting to the first-time guest. (maybe the odd familiarity added to that?) Comfortable seating, low noise level, attentive hostess (who turned out to be the manager) and an eager young waiter all made us feel good about our choice to try Rice Inn from the very start.

The first thing we noticed on the menu were the letters "BYOB." We immediately sent our young accomplice to the nearby Giant Eagle to procure some bottles for us. I simply love the whole BYOB concept, especially when there is no "corkage" fee. Upon opening the menu, I was impressed with the depth that it contained, and since I had read that this new restaurant had good sushi, I ordered the "Baked Alaska Roll" as an appetizer. I am unable to resist any roll that has smoked salmon on it, and this one did not disappoint. It was expertly prepared, very well presented, and the ingredients seemed fresh and tasted delicious. The only bad part was that it was cut into 8 pieces and there were 3 of us, so I had to graciously (and reluctantly) deny myself a third piece! This was an odd roll, because as the name implied, it was served warm. But I really, really liked it, and so did my compatriots. (who got 3 pieces, unlike me...)

I was feeling great about this place almost immediately because we got to watch the sushi chef prepare our roll, and we got to drink exactly the beer that we wanted (Yakima Glory) instead of settling for the usual run-of-the-mill Chinese restaurant offering. We decided to try a nice cross-section from the menu to find out where the strengths and weakness might be.

We ordered a seafood soup for two, an order of Kung Pao chicken with fried rice (only 75 cents to upgrade from the steamed rice) and an order of Pad Thai, of which we are huge fans.

In a word, the Kung Pao chicken was "perfect." This is the dish that always lights me up when it is done correctly, and the kitchen at RICE INN nailed this one. Tender, perfectly cooked chicken, crispy texture in the vegetables and nuts, and a sauce that was exactly what I was hoping for. A++ and the best I've had in the South Hills of Pittsburgh. The seafood soup got a B minus. Everything was in there as advertised, and nothing in the soup was overdone or tough. Obviously the kitchen used fresh ingredients. But personally, I thought that the soup itself was somewhat lacking in seasoning and overall seafood taste. This may be a personal taste thing, but I wasn't that excited about the soup. My friends, however, enjoyed it more than I. As for the Pad Thai, it was not what I was expecting. I have had a lot of GREAT Pad Thai lately because this is one of the major strengths of one of my favorite restaurants located a few miles up the road on 88. This Pad Thai needed to go back to the drawing board, in my opinion. The shrimp was tender enough, and the rice noodles were just about right, but the seasoning of this dish just didn't do justice to the Pad Thai tradition. After offering some feedback to our young and enthusiastic waiter, "Morgan," I wouldn't be surprised if the chef made some adjustments on this particular menu offering. It's hard to do EVERYTHING well, and since this place has only been in business for a month, I'll expect some improvements on this one.

My overall impression could be summed up in these words: "Do you have any TO-GO menus?" I will definitely be coming back to RICE INN to explore the menu further and find out what other offerings on the menu are "in their wheelhouse." It will not surprise me to find out that they do a lot of things well, based on this first visit.

I'd also like to make mention of the fact that the hostess who turned out to be the manager listened to the feedback we gave our young waiter on the food we were served, and she unhesitatingly removed the cost of the Pad Thai from our bill without any suggestion from us. I really respect this desire to please!

The sushi here is SUBLIME. On par with Little Tokyo, even. I got the rainbow roll (my usual) and I just couldn't believe it. Sushi lovers have got to check this place out.

Wonderful Food and Service. Stopped on a Saturday evening for dinner. Chicken egg rolls were delicious. nicely crisp on the outside with a good amount of filling. Chicken with cashew nuts was delicious with a nice surprise of more types vegetables than other restaurants versions. chicken with broccoli and shrimp and walnuts were also wonderful. Try the red bean ice cream. It is deliciously different. Nicely decorated. Good service. They also serve sushi and Thai food. Great family dining spot.

Decided to give this place a try as I was stranded in the area waiting for my car to get fixed. So glad I tried Rice Inn. First, they have done a commendable job turning the old Pizza Hut into a welcoming, fresh restaurant with clean and modern decor. Don't expect ambiance, but very clean. The hot and sour soup was just that - A nice blend of hot and sour full of pork, sh rooms and tofu. I opted for the lunch portion of PadThai with chicken which turned out to be much more than any one person should eat for lunch. The noodles were nicely done with peanuts, fresh cilantro, bean sprouts, scallions and just enough sauce to add flavor but not lost the other flavors. Nicley done overall. I will definitely be back with the kids to try something else.

The food was amazing. Since moving to this part of Pittsburgh, we've been looking for a great sushi place. We finally found it. Everything tasted fresh and was excellent. We definitely will be back for more! The rolls were large for the price and were worth every penny! I rarely give five stars but this place deserves it.

Rice Inn is a great spot to go to for sushi! Their rolls are always fresh and delicious. My favorite is the Rice Inn Roll. It’s a must try! Tonight we got sushi to go and it was packed neatly with an ice pack to keep it fresh. Highly recommended!

We have had take-out and today was the first time we dined in. Never disappoints. We have an Asian place closer to home but this is definitely worth the drive.

Updated review 2021: We came here for dinner this past weekend. We were the only guests that time so it was quiet. The appetizer came in five minutes and the entrees came in another 10 minutes. The food was very good like I remembered it. We got green curry with eggplant and Singapore rice noodles. I was most impressive when a staff member came to our table with boxes and put the food in the boxes for us! Bonus points for that woman because I had a long day and I was very tired so I appreciate the kind gesture. Original review 2018: I have been here twice. The food here is great. We tried pad thai and general tso's chicken. It's a huge serving at an affordable price. They speak Cantonese here, if you are curious. :)

Big fan of the sushi rolls. I usually will grab a couple on my way to work for swing shift as they are cheap at that time. The food selection is huge and fresh, and never have had food in the 5 years of going here.
