My partner and I had a great time here. The service was excellent, the food was great, and the outdoor seating is dog friendly. We haven’t had time to go on dates, so we did a lot of research and glad we chose to eat here. We happened to arrive during happy hour, and got the Duck Fat Fries and Salmon Sliders which were amazing and well seasoned, with the salmon being allowed to shine. We ordered the roast duck breast as an entree to share which was packed with flavor, especially the deeply roasted bits. We closed out with the beignets where were not too sweet and perfectly cooked. We got all the sauces with it, the chocolate and caramel which are made in-house and it was perfect balance of sweet and bitter. We plan on coming back often.
Service was phenomenal. Beer selection will accommodate many tastes. The menu appears simple but has lots of varying opitions. Food was perpared very well, delicious, well presented. Tends to get busy after 615p. Can grow very loud once filled with patrons. Service remained excellent when packed.

My husband Joe, daughter and I went to Barrel and Crow yesterday evening 5/2, for happy hour. The service by Michelle was outstanding. She went over the dinner specials and made sure we had the happy hour food and drink menus. She was pleasant, funny, efficient, and took care of every request. Michelle could not have been more helpful or more pleasant.
Sat at the bar. Bottomless mimosas are a must! The crab cake balls were good I don't think that's the name of the dish but I would order it again.
I went with my husband and daughter. We sat in the patio area!
Our server was amazing but I forgot to get his name. He spoke Spanish and explained some of the most popular brunch items on the menu to my husband. We ordered 2 of the things he recommended and we loved it. I ordered hanger steak and eggs and my husband had the cheeseburger. My husband also had a beer our server recommended and we both loved it. Would definitely recommend.
No wait (reserved on Open Table). Food was terrific! Hanger Steak, Duck Fat Fries, and Ravioli were to die for.
My friend and I enjoyed a fabulous dinner here on a cold winter Saturday evening. The salads, roasted beet and mixed green, were bright green with lots of tasty bite-size veggie additions. My smoked duck breast was done to perfection. My friend 's rockfish was exquisite. The almond cake dessert special hit grace note of sweet without sticky, and made a fitting end to a memorable meal.
Very good experience. The lady who took the order for us was professional. I believe she is the manager. Actually all staffs were nice. The food was good in general. Only thing is the water, a little weird taste. But I guess it is not their problem, it is the area.
Came here for dinner Sunday—service was a bit slow, but overall the food was good! Top favorites were the Lamb Bolognese and Spiced Shrimp and Frits—both dishes were well flavored and decent portion. Duck Fat Fries was a good side, and we tried their Steamed Mussels special—it was okay, a bit bland for my taste.
Stumbled upon this gem and was not disappointed. Surprisingly empty for a Saturday evening, but business seemed to pick up as the evening wore on. Ordered four appetizers and 2 desserts to split between two people. Plates are on the smaller side, but prices are moderate, ingredients are fresh, and everything was absolutely delightful. The crab beignets and ahi tuna tacos were favorites, but the wild mushroom gnocchi and fried green tomatoes were also very tasty. Looking forward to trying an entree next time - the shrimp and grits or rockfish sounded fantastic!
This was my third time visiting this restaurant and the food is consistently good, disappointed the Calamari Old bay was way very salty, fried green tomatoes is a must and other appetizers were good, i had the pork chop over mashed potatoes which was perfectly cooked, not a big fan of the mashed potatoes style though, the hanger steak was perfectly cooked, tender and tasted great with the fries, wine selection was great and pricing per bottle is quiet reasonable
Great selection of beers! I would highly recommend the place for a nice dinner or just for grabbing a beer with friends.
Food is actually out of this world! Really good portions! You must come with a great appetite because the portions are big
New to the neighborhood so I have been exploring the local offerings. I loved everything about Barrel & Crow. Nice ambiance, friendly and appropriately attentive service, interesting menu, varied beer selection. For my first visit, I had a nice double IPA and some of the best calamari I've ever eaten (and I spend my summers in the Aegean). Definitely will be back.
We stopped here for some small plates and some delicious drinks. We sat outside in the nice weather and stayed a lot longer than expected but the wait staff stayed for us and brought us delicious spiked coffee drinks.
We visited this restaurant after a show at the Roundhouse theatre. Everything from our server Danny to the drinks, appetizers, and dinner was amazing. We had the calamari, crab balls, mussels, rockfish, duck and lamb pasta... all was magnificent!!! Highly recommended.
Really enjoyed my time. Food and service was top notch. Sat at the bar and the bartenders were really helpful with menu options. Will be back soon!
I really love this restaurant. My husband and I had an appointment in Bethesda and decided to have dinner. We read reviews and decided to try Barrel and crow. So glad we did! We both had the salmon burger. It was delicious. The side salad was great. I don't remember the cocktail I had (bourbon was the liquor and there was a blood orange slice) It was so good. The beignets weren't my favorite, but they took me back to Nawlins'. Service was outstanding. It felt like family. Def will go back.
Delicious food! We loved that most of the ingredients are local. We had lamb from Shenandoah and locally produced beer.
