The atmosphere of this place is really lovely, the fireplace and the warmth here is so cozy. I love how there are cow pictures everywhere hence the name of the restaurant! It's cute and fun. I've been coming to Big Rapids my whole life surprised to see a restaurant like this made it here! The food and service were nice! I loved my kale Cesar salad. Yummmmmmm

Was recommended this place by my father who frequents the area. He said I wouldn't be disappointed and he was absolutely right! The food options are plenty and diverse, there really is something special for everyone's taste. High quality ingredients, out-of-the-box combinations and interesting mixes, but all extremely appetizing. I have the Cold Water Atlantic Salmon and the girlfriend had the Lamb Gyro. Both we incredibly tasty, fresh, well seasoned, cooked to perfection and serve at a fast rate. Prices are pub/tavern cheap but the food reflects the higher quality and there wasn't one thing on the menu I thought was overpriced. Dessert was another favorite as well, Bananas Foster with a flambee presentation at your table. Rum and Tahitian Vanilla Gelato with melty bananas put us into a mild food coma (but it was very much welcomed). Atmosphere is what I'd call "Dual Luxury". You have the interior which feels like a rustic Italian wine tasting cellar tucked away in a beautiful hill sides overlooking Naples. It's a bit dark inside, but I'd imagine it's mainly used for night time dining instead of day time dining like what we did outside on their terrace. It juts into the sidewalk quite a bit and offers great views of the downtown area while being fenced off from people passing by. Server Collin was a joy and really went above and beyond for us, attentive, fast, and funny. Great ambassador for the restaurant/brand. 5/5 Stars, and no doubt we'll be back for more when in the area again.

Excellent food, service, and atmosphere - very fine & enjoyable dining! The prices are higher than a reasonable expectation, though, plus extra to add a side bread or salad. Excellent and enjoyable; very likely to return but not often.

The food and atmosphere were excellent! The service was not great.. it took over 35 minutes to get a glass of wine, and we waited over an hour and a half for our food. Our waitress blamed it on a bartender not showing up for work, but we were there for a total of three hours, and she checked on our table, maybe five times. This was after she told us we were her only table, of which there were nine of us. We would go back though, as the food was excellent, once we got it.

Great atmosphere very friendly staff. The fish dip appetizer was very creamy and delicious. The main dish was a very perfectly cooked Chicago black and blue tenderloin. Over all very happy with the food and enjoyed the great environment and atmosphere.

We had a group of four and all were very impressed with the entire night! Madi, our server, was wonderful. The drinks were great- wonderful Quilt Cab, Smoked Old Fashions, and amazing Chocolate Martinis!! The food was wonderful- steaks were the best we have had at a restaurant(and we Love steak!) , the mussel appetizer (very garlicky) and smoked fish dip, potatoes gratin, jambalaya, and the crème brûlée dessert were all amazing! Seriously nothing bad to say- everything was GREAT!!! Can’t wait to go back! Great job BLUE COW!

Tonight we visited the Blue Cow from out of town and had great service. Jack was a great server, knew the menu, excellent recommendations, friendly, engaged in conversation and made us feel welcomed even though we came in near closing time. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Easily best place in Big Rapids. We had the white fish and Mediterranean pasta with Smokey chicken.

The wait staff was excellent. The food was very tasty. Tried the Escargot and enjoyed the light flavor of garlic. The Honey goat cheese crostini was enjoyable but would have preferred the bread slightly less toasted. Husband tried the French Onion soup and said it was good but just a little sweet for his taste. Perhaps the type of onion used. It was still good. We both had the Champagne Chicken which was awesome. I went with the petite portion and he had the full size which is two chicken breasts. Would recommend this place to family and friends.

Realize that this was my experience. Unfortunatly my mistake was that I chose this restaurant for lunch while travelling. This was a timing mistake as we could not partake in the true potential of this restaurant. The Blue Cow in my opinion, would be best if you were staying in town, went for dinner, appetizers and hopefully wine, And you were not in a rush to get on the road. The Sunday afternoon after Thanksgiving, our Host/Waiter Tyler was extremely courteous and did his best to make our experience rememberable. He made me some fresh coffee that he said was good, and he was absolutely right. The food was mostly innovative, creative and spot on. The Champagne chicken was great, the risotto was perfect, the whitefish was enjoyed by all as was the vegetable puree. If I had to make a suggestion, it would be to remake and rename the "Jambalaya dish." Although I did not order this dish, I did taste it. The suggestion is based on the addition of the strongly italian herb sauce is skip the rice, drop the creole part of the name, add penne pasta, reduce the amount of sauce, add a proper amount of cheese/ cracked pepper and name it "Sicilian Style Jambalaya." If I ever find myself nearby, I would be happy to enjoy more of the menu, and some of the daily chef creations.

Excellent meal. Ordered sauteed Whitefish and the Champagne Chicken. Both were served with mixed vegetables and Parmesan Risotto which were excellent. The staff was friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend and will visit again when in the area.

Was staying overnight in Big Rapids and wanted something other than fast food or causal restaurant. Happen to find Blue Cow on google and looked decent. We ordered the ribeye, champagne chicken, penne and the French onion soup. Soup hit the spot since it was cold outside. The champagne chicken was ok, but felt too rich for us. Penne was cooked well and nice taste. The star of the meal was the ribeye. I’ve had steak across the world and also at very high end restaurants and the ribeye at Blue Cow could hold its own. Great flavour and very tender. Will definitely come back to Blue Cow!
