Good Mexican food, Mariachis singing and quick service. This is a good place to hangout. A little hard to see from the main road, but there are a bunch of stores to visit around the restaurant.
This has to be the most authentic Mexican restaurant I have eaten at. We went there because of the reviews. Mine food was fantastic! I will definitely be back:)
Delicious authentic Mexican dishes. Al a carte favorites include; Sopes (AL pastor) , ceviche tostado (both fish and shrimp varieties are great), and tacos always hit the spot. Huevos Ranchero is a tasty and very filling platter. Ask for the salsa Verde with avacodo and their spicier red salsa in addition to the regular red variety.
Last night I was talking to a friend about not having found a great Mexican restaurant here yet. She recommend this establishment, so here we are tonight. The waitress was excellent and the food was also. We all cleared our plates (including my 9 and 11 year old). The last time I had Mexican food this good was when I actually IN Mexico. The only possible negativ things to say is the music was a bit too loud and I ate entirely too much!!!

As good as Mexican gets in Hoover. I love the street tacos, which are on the "100% Mexican" part of the menu, along with the tamales (these were new last time I went). The latter surpass all others in town. Everyone else I've ever been with has liked everything they've gotten on the menu, especially the fajitas. The sauces are spicy hot and tasty, not the typical factory fare. The margaritas, as someone said here, are not overly sweet. The prices are high, it's true, but it costs a lot of money to stay in business and to offer quality food. I highly recommend!
This place is a regular for lunch...has delicious tacos, best chicken quesadillas in Hoover. Ask for the house made "sauces", very good

Behind Pizza Hut
I stopped by recently one evening after work for dinner. It's behind the Pizza Hut on Lorna rd near the galleria. The parking was plentiful and the place only had a few customers but it was a Wednesday evening. Service was very friendly and the margaritas were strong. The food service was quick and the staff was distributed, helping the other servers when food or drink was ready. The bartender was quick and drinks obviously had a good pour. I had the queso and chips and salsa, both were delicious. Blanca served me well and was quick on refills and food service.
I had the street tacos of which they have about six or seven varieties. It's such a simple but fulfilling meal. Flour tortilla and three different sauces all fresh made in the house. I had three different tacos, pork, al pastor and carnita. All were tasty and served with the prerequisite onions and cilantro. Yum! I will be going back here!

The "Mexican" menu has great tacos-carne asada, tacos de tinga, pastor and so on. Great authentic salsas too.
All New. Taqueria Mexico has been around for many years. Here recently they close there doors down and reopean with a whole new look and feel to this small but great authentic mexican cuisine..The service has improved so much and they have changed the Margarita and add a full bar...They have also start to have have live entertainment on friday and sunday...Talking to the establishment manger he let me know that it was a lil iguana grill bit much more authentic. I love it and I will be back at least 3x a month.
Great accidental find!. Stumbled across this while looking for another popular Mexican restaurant in Hoover. Service was A+++ (very attentive waitress without being bothersome), the prices were impressively low, and the food was spectacular.
We were provided with guacamole even before our dinner came out. The salsa seemed store bought (Pace, I believe) but I like Pace, so it worked for me. Cheese dip is only $2.50 (it's usually $4 to even $8 elsewhere) which was a big, big, big plus for us.
This will definitely become a new regular spot for us.

Awesome food!! This place is the real deal. It is where all of the locals eat for real Mexican food. Great service has always been part of it as well. This place is in the small village shopping center across from Best Buy in Hoover.
Great food...it wasn't the Best!! But good... the place seemed empty.. but ratings are high and seems clean all staff wears masks the whole time..
It might be that I'm from Cali and know better but...tacos are on corn tortillas not flour..and ceviche is fish and shrimp not just shrimp with no lime..cilantro or tomatoes..now the staff was awesome. They took well care of us..that is the only reason I gave it a 5..They had mariachi music play which made my 9month old granddaughter shake her tail feather on the table..sooo my experience was a love hate..
Ordered chorizo tacos and a chicken quesadilla. Love that they have real authentic Mexican cooking. Got in and out in 20 minutes. Great food and a nice staff. Will definitely be back!
What a great little spot to enjoy authentic food. The staff was attentive, accommodating, funny and the food was fantastic. The bowl of chips was huge. I have to say I have never had a stein of sweet tea before but it was exactly what I needed. They have a nice bottled beer list and a well stocked bar along with great Wednesday specials on margaritas.
I love this restaurant!! I am definitely a foodie and this is my favorite Mexican place....the best fajitas nachos omg!!! I cannot rave about this place enough!!!
