The food here was amazing. I strongly suggest the Hungarian mushroom soup and the Mediterranean salad. I had a bst, bacon, spinach and tomato. I love fresh spinach and have never thought about using it that way. Delicious. Our server was extremely nice and friendly. Would recommend this place to everyone.

Absolutely delicious! I had soup and half a sandwich. The soup was a rich Hungarian Mushroom and the sandwich was chicken, grape and walnut salad on a croissant �
William Woodford had red beans and rice and a half of a tuna fish. The tea was pure perfection, they make a great Arnold Palmer. We tried this place last year and came back this summer. I sooo loved this place!
When time allows, I make a point to dine at The Veranda in Black Mtn. The menu is a wonderful selection of soups and sandwiches that tantalize the taste buds! I absolutely love the Hungarian Mushroom Soup, and enjoyed the Melted Brie and Turkey Panini with Raspberry Chutney! Fun gift shop area, as you wait for your table, come early, stays very busy during tourist season! Support the local businesses...wonderful town to find all kinds of great gifts and such!
My wife, Candace, and I enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Veranda. Creative, delicious food. Excellent service. Very friendly toward those with food allergies. Ask a question, you get a prompt and friendly answer. Pretty place in great location. In a three-day mountain trip, this place provided one of our very best experiences. If you can, go.
I chose a three piece salad plate of mixed greens, chicken salad and pimento cheese salad...it was wonderful.

Yum! This quaint cafe offers excellent service and DELICIOUS lunch options! I had a taste of my friend's Hungarian Mushroom Soup and had to order a bowl to go! It was FANTASTIC! I had a hard time choosing from the delicious menu options and decided on the special of day, the Meatloaf Panini and it did not disappoint! My friends and I had a wonderful time and shared desert at the end of our delightful meal! Everything tastes of love and made from scratch goodness!
Had the turkey sandwich and it was awesome. The wicked weed blonde beer was great also. Nice friendly staff and great service. We will be back

This is one of our favorite restaurants! The Hungarian mushroom soup is excellent – I always get it with chicken salad on a croissant. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!
All the food here is exceptionally high quality. Some of the tastiest soups I've ever had, served by very friendly and accommodating staff. One of my all-time favorite places for lunch; great teas and deserts, wonderful sandwiches.

Our favorite cafe anywhere! My husband and I live in Charlotte, but plan trips to the Black Mountain area a few times a year, the highlight being lunch at Veranda Cafe. They have the best flavored iced teas I've ever had. My absolute favorite menu item is the Turkey Berry Brie, but I have thoroughly enjoyed every salad, soup, sandwich, and dessert I've tried. Yesterday I had the Pesto Turkey Ciabatta which was absolutely delicious. My husband and I love that the food is so fresh, and creatively prepared. The array of daily soups and desserts is fabulous. I like that they often have a cold soup option in the hot summer months. The side choices are exceptional as well; my favorite is the Southern Caviar, and my husband's is the Indian Summer Salad. The service is outstanding, the atmosphere cheerful and comfortable. It is just a wonderful, homey, happy place! We will continue to visit whenever we can. It is also a great place to purchase gifts and take home items such as local honey, tea, cards, and books. And make sure you get a big cookie for later when you check out.
Was standing outside reading the menu when a lady walking in said"everything will be Good". She was right. I had chicken salad sandwich. Hubby had a roast beef sandwich. Place was busy but we were seated shortly and got our time in an appropriate time

For sure one of the best restaurant experiences I've ever had! We were greeted and seated right away, it was reasonably busy near lunch time. Our server Renee was awesome, shout-out to her! As far as the food, both meat-eaters and vegetarians found awesome soups, salads, and sandwiches. The elderberry lemonade is a delicious treat, and the hidden gem was the pita bread! I definitely recommend it as a side, it was so delicious and flavorful. We couldn't stay for dessert but I wish we could have. I hope to visit black mountain again so I can come back!!
He Veranda has been our favorite place for lunch in Black Mountain for over 10 years. Consistently good food! It has been under new owners for a few years and we were thrilled to see it still has amazing lunches if homemade soups, salads, sandwiches and desserts. On this visit I had the tasty Kay Salad topped with their delicious homemade chicken salad and homemade bread. My husband was delighted with the Meatloaf panini. Terrific!
My visit to Veranda Café and Gift was amazing. Their service was very fast, the people serving us were very welcoming, helpful, and accommodating. I got to try the elderberry lemonade, which wasn’t my favorite, but it was very fun to try anyway. Their menu is very diverse and you’re sure to find something that fits the whole family. This is the cutest little restaurant in Black Mountain!
The meatloaf panini at Veranda Cafe is a must-try! The meatloaf is juicy and flavorful, and the bread is perfectly toasted. I highly recommend it!.

Been going on and off for years. We love it. We wanted their mushroom soup but they were out. I think I'm one of the last ones to have the recipe on a postcard they used to sell. Delicious. We shared a club sandwich. Very good. Love Black Mountain!!💕
The food here was absolutely delicious. We stopped her for lunch while we were on vacation in Lake Lure and it's a quiet little place above a pizza parlor. The food was better than what I expected and the service was exceptional. FYI the warm Apple Pie and scoop of vanilla ice cream was absolutely the best hands down. I would highly recommend stopping here for lunch as you won't be disappointed.
This is our favorite restaurant in Black Mountain NC. Always great food and good service. There are daily specials, soups,flavored teas and desserts that change regularly.
My wife had a cup of soup and a half sandwich with hibiscus blueberry tea. I had a full sandwich with potato chips. Both were wonderful, and we were too full to try the desserts. We were tempted to get some to take home, but we wisely refrained after thinking about how full we were.
After eating we took a stroll around town and visited some of the nearby shops. You can’t find a better way to enjoy the day!
Veranda is must whenever I’m in town - at least once! The people are friendly and food and teas delicious. You cannot go wrong here 🩷🩷🩷
Nice little restaurant with good food, we were looking forwrd to the mushroom soup but it's sold out when we get there. The tomato soup is good too. Love the sandwich, tasty.
