Cute!! What an adorable dinner stop! Our waitress was super friendly and fast. The overall ambiance of the place is so cozy and quaint. Dinner was great- who doesn’t love country ham and cornbread? From the decor of the dining rooms, to the hardwood floors, to the wooden tables and chairs, to the fresh flowers on every table, all the small details were clearly doted on with the dining experience in mind. The owner is also very friendly and stoped by our table to say hi.

My family and I visited here for the first time over July 4th weekend. Incredible!! The host was the owner himself. The waitress was fabulous and worked with us since we had one person of the party was my autistic niece. The waitress did great to ask what she could do to help us and was very attentive. The food was delicious! We did the family style with 2 meats and took food home. Will definitely go again next time we are in town.

Had a delightful meal on a lovely Blacksburg evening. The quaint structure is the oldest home from the original “16 squares” of downtown Blacksburg. We were warmly greeted by the owner when we walked in the door and were immediately seated. An adequate bar with good bourbon choices. I had the signature fried chicken that took me back to childhood days at my grandmother’s house. Can’t wait to go back and try the other entrees that are all good southern comfort food classics. Bottom line—a good home style southern meal in a unique setting!

My husband and I choose this place for my birthday dinner and it was the best decision. The moment we walked in, it felt like a home. The owner is wonderful, he takes his guest seriously and so are the staffs. Our server was so nice. I would say menu is limited. For us who only eat chicken, we only had one option but I must tell you their signature buttermilk marinated chicken is a lit. We had hot cherry pie with ice cream for dessert and uncle don/Aunty gini for drink and they were lit too. Overall great experience.

Blacksburg Tavern is delicious. I don't normally get excited about fried chicken, but theirs is exemplary. The biscuits are also excellent. As a small criticism, I'd say their other proteins are far outshone by the chicken and some of their sides (particularly the vegetables) can be bland. But it is still well worth a visit.

Truly appreciate the history of the home and to support local venues. This was our first time here. We enjoyed our dinner on the porch. It was relaxing and felt homey. The food was good quality, hot, and service was great. Highly recommend.

Visiting from Iowa. Loved the Blacksburg Tavern’s historical ambiance. We were greeted by Dan, the owner, who shared the history of the tavern. The food was a delicious tribute to southern family style cooking. The wait staff was attentive and pleasant. We ended the evening with an impressive flight of Virginia bourbons. Our only regret was not trying the cobbler. A great evening.

What a wonderful and kind experience. First they gave us the best table with the view of the downtown . Then brook served us kind and very efficiently. The food was delicious and very fairly priced. Then Dave, the owner, came and introduced himself and welcomed us. All together, wonderful experience.
