I must heartily recommend Tango's Subs and Empanadas on Orchard, south of Emerald. The dining area is clean and well-kept, the service is friendly, and the food is to die for. They have all kinds of empanadas, with or without meat. I went in a week ago and had the Cordoba empanada: mushrooms and onions sauteed in red wine sauce with mozzarella. It was so good I ordered it again tonight! So everybody go eat there, and give them so much business they'll have to extend their hours!
Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in the valley! The owners are tremendously nice and happy people. It's a great experience every time. I've never had anything less than 5 star service or food at Tangos.
Delicious! The Gaucho and Carmelo were fantastic. My spouse has severe dietary restrictions and was able to get a wonderful vegetarian and gluten-free meal as well.
Every time we visit a location (either Boise or Nampa) we are always warmly greeted. The food is wonderful, yes, and a great value for the price, but what sets Tango's apart is the family atmosphere. Love this place. I highly recommend it.
Highly recommend Tango’s! Such a large variety of empanadas, we will have to return several times to eventually try everything and determine our favorites. Priced right, impeccable service and accommodating to special requests as well! Top notch establishment!
Super nice owner always friendly. Empanadas are amazing and I'm trying the samba sub today pretty amazing as well love this place I would recommend to anyone
Love this place! I took my boys and they were all able to get something they liked. Honestly think the mango empanada is the best thing I have ever eaten! So good!
Amazing food with fantastic service. Great little gem in the heart of Boise. Family owned restaurant that never disappoints. Love the Goucho Empanada!
Affordable. I went here for the first time today and am really glad I did. I ordered a La Boca (Pretty much a pizza pocket) and a Caramelo (Filled with dulce de leche) to go. From the time I entered the store to the time I left was about 15 minutes.
When I got back to work to eat them I was pleasantly surprised to find that the crusts were still crisp and flaky, they weren't soggy or greasy at all. Both of the empanadas were delicious and I would highly recommend giving this place a try.
LOCAL GEM!. I tend to travel a lot in my line of work and the first thing I do when getting to my destination is find local eateries, not food chains or the same old boring restaurants that you can find in every town you visit but a place that the locals consider to be their gem and Tango's is what I consider to be a score! Everything at Tango's is what it should be, the atmosphere, the wonderful people, and excellent food. If I make my way back to Boise the first place that I will be going is Tango's! If your new in town or just visiting I highly recommend that you stop in and have an Empanada or 2 with the locals, you will be glad you did!
This place feels like a warm hug. Exceptional service and a great, affordable lunch. I always think I can eat 2 empanadas but 1 with fries is the perfect meal.
Ah-mazing. We stopped in while in town from SLC and oh my gosh, I'll keep coming to Boise just for this. So many awesome flavors- we tried 7 kinds and loved them all, even if we were incredibly full afterwards. We loved the breakfast one and the chicken mole but we liked all of them were delicious and ate every bite! Service was super friendly too and the weather was perfect for us to sit outside and take our sweet time. I already can't wait to go back!
Can't be beat! So amazing and really nice people. Get the gaucho !! Cheap delicious unique amazing. One of boises best!
This place is a hidden treasure. I highly recommend the empanadas. They are amazing (have tired and enjoyed just about all of them). The sandwich was okay but keep returning for the empanadas. Colleague of mine went back 3 times the following week after trying it. STOP BY AND GIVE IT A TRY!!!!!
Go here, no questions asked.. I initially wandered into Tango's when looking for a new place to eat. The parking situation was a bit awkward and the restaurant itself was a bit small, so I was a bit leery when going initially. Thankfully, I reserved judgement until I tried the food!
This place is a solid place to eat. The food is good, cheap, interesting, and the portions are more than you expect for the price. The owners are amazingly friendly, you really feel like they appreciate your business. I have only gotten the empanadas myself so I can only comment on that portion of the menu, but I have never been disappointed in my decision to try something new. Go here, get cramped at a table, and enjoy a delicious lunch.
Some of the friendliest service around. Wonderful establishment for the over populated corporate chain city of Boise. Delicious food at a great price with fantastic service, a must go!
Not Disappointed. I had been looking forward to eating there. I was not disappointed. I was warmly greeted by the man behind the counter. He was genuinely happy to see me come in, and thanked me when I left. After looking at the menu and getting his input, I ordered the Elpuerco Empanada, and the Lomito Sub with chimichurri. I got some green salsa to go with my meal. Both items were great. I greatly enjoyed the pastry and the filling of the empanada. The salsa added to it even more. The sub was delicious. All the ingredients were great, and even better as a whole. I really liked it, and can not wait to go back.
Awesome owners, very good subs, excellent empanadas, and the dessert ones are viciously awesome! Super super cheap "mate" (kinda like tea) as well.
If you've never had an empanada you are missing out on one of life's best comfort foods. Every time I take a bite it takes me back to south america. Once you have tried all of their 30 plus flavors of empanadas then it is time to start on the subs. The Friday only lomita is worth the once a week wait. Once you tried Tangos you'll be hooked. Besides the great food the owners Luis and Monica are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. Provecho!
Hot little pockets of reasonably-priced goodness. Their subs are good too, but the empanadas are where it's at. Not the healthiest food ever, but if you're going to "eat bad", at least you don't have to eat badly.
INCREDIBLE!. Hands down best empanadas that I have ever eaten. The variety of empanada available makes it impossible for me to eat less than four. The pork empanada is my favorite, shredded pork and potatoes in a tangy green sauce. The dessert empanadas are fantastic if you still have room!
¡Empanadas deliciosas!. Tango's empanadas are dangerously good. At $2.25 apiece, these flaky, filled and fried pastries are almost irresistible, and it's tough to limit myself to just 2 or 3 per visit. There are lots of varieties to choose from - savory meal types with meat/egg/cheese/veggies/beans and sweet dessert types with fruit/chocolate/cream. The proprietors - an Argentinean/Mexican couple - are about the friendliest folks you'll ever meet.
I’m ready for something different at lunch and Tango’s Subs and Empanadas certainly delivers on all fronts—originality, taste and affordability. It’s an Argentinian joint, so I opt for a couple of empanadas, which come out hot and fast.
I really loved Tango's, and will be eager to eat there again. Wife was slightly less impressed, giving more weight to the Moleh empanada we liked least than to the amazing Rafi, but we both agreed that really, Tango's is great to have around as just another option, and I'm glad to add empanadas to the list of things I can eat when I don't want to cook but a burger (or pizza!) just isn't cutting it.
The Lomito is basically Argentina's version of a steak sandwich (though the same name will get you a different type of sandwich in Chile), and Tango's makes them only on Fridays until they run out. They're stuffed full of meat, with a little vegetable matter for good measure and chimichurri sauce. So yeah, limited availability meat sandwich...sometime's it's just too easy to get me into a place.
