I hadn't been there for many years. I moved back to Boise and have waited 3 years to go back to my past. I enjoyed it so much. It is a1000x better. It was clean, nice customers and the bartender was really nice. I'll be going back there.

McCleary's is a neighborhood dive bar with (usually) friendly locals. It has two pool tables, darts, shuffleboard, jukebox and some other miscellaneous bar games. It also has a nice outside seating/smoking area out back where you can have your drinks. It's usually ran by 1 bartender at a time but I have never felt ignored or like there was a long wait for service. It would get 5 stars but some of the locals who frequent McCleary's can get a bit too drunk and slightly agressive. All and all though if you go there wanting to have a couple drinks with friends or to play some bar games with a good attitude you'll have a good night.

ST Patty's day party was legendary! They had corned beef and cabbage with all the fixings. Green beer! Live band Funhouse Boise which were great and they cover set they played rocked the scene. There was also live bagpipes and a parade that came through! This was the place to go for St Patty's day will definitely go next year!

It's a neighborhood bar. It may look a bit rough on the outside, but I assure you the interior is warm with an aesthetically pleasing decor. Don't let the exterior prevent you from enjoying a pleasant evening. There's a few video poker machines, two or three pool tables, and a pinball machine. While I was there, the music ranged from Metallica & Lynyrd Skynyrd to the Black Eyed Peas and Van Morrison. My whisky sour was very affordable and nice and stiff: no watered down drinks here, boys. The prices certainly beat the downtown Boise bar scene. I can also say that the regulars here are friendly and seemed interested in seeing a new face. There's a nice little patio that allows for smoking. Most importantly, however: the bar keep was polite and knew his stuff. My only gripe is that the parking area isn't lined, which causes people to park in odd patterns. This means that somebody is always gonna be parked to close to something. Other than that, I recommend you give McCleary's Pub a try.

Great little pub that doesn't really advertise. Kind of obscure in a small strip mall. Very clean. Great staff. Even the bartender was new, she was great!! Great selection of beer, wine and of course whiskey. Will be back soon!! Five stars!!
