Favorite place during my whole time in Boston!!!! I was absolutely impressed how they were able to provide such a health conscious meal! The steamed scrod and vegetables were so great! Super impressed! We sat inside- a bit of a "dive" but 100 worth it (and I'm a tough one to get past the looks of a place)
Really enjoyed the meal and the pint. Very tasty, really hit the spot after a long day of walking and sightseeing. The outdoor seating ambience under the great Fenuil Hall with the lively activity of a Friday evening all about us made it all the more enjoyable. Our server Dave was very attentive and friendly. Definitely recommend this place
Since immigrating to the Boston area this is my go-to seafood place when I am in the downtown area. Family owned is what makes it even better. Good food good service

Kaylah was amazing!! She was very awesome with our baby! We had a great time and the food was very yummy!! We got the pick three fried seafood plate!
Food delicious! The service at the beginning was very good, then the server without asking if we want the check, brought it. I asked her why , and she said: - well, I asked you if you wanted something else and you said no( we still have some beer left) . So, I asked for 3 more beers and her attitude was terrible! But, overall good, very good food
Went here on Labor Day weekend. It was a beautiful day and we sat outside. We were seated quickly considering it was crowded. Meal was delicious had fisherman’s platter, fish and chips and Calamari. Fish was not heavily breaded which made fish taste good. Definitely got a large portion for fisherman’s platter. Service was okay but again it was extremely busy. We will be back again when we visit Boston.
I really liked this place. It was mostly outdoor seating which was perfect for the weather.
There was practically no line as it’s a bit hidden. The service was amazing and fast.

I found myself in Boston for a few days and stumbled upon this gem. I had a fish sandwich and I was very impressed - excellent flavor, the texture just melted in the mouth, best tartar sauce I’ve ever had, just amazing. There was a busker in the area next to the seating, playing and singing for a couple hours. Combine all those elements together and sprinkle in a fall afternoon = just magic. Highly recommend.
Ate outside for lunch, had the Fishermans Platter which was plenty of food and very good. It was not too busy on a Monday afternoon, but service was a bit lacking, my water was left empty for much of my time there, and when I needed more tartar sauce they brought a tiny teaspoons worth more to the table, which was quite a negligible amount extra to serve. But the atmosphere of the outside seating was nice with nearby street performers.
Sat indoors at the bar since it was a bit chilly, but there were plenty of people at the outside bar. Walked in with no reservation and got seated instantly. Ordered 3 oysters which were shucked right in-front of us. Condiments were simple and basic but that’s the way I like it. The lobster roll was served on a burger bun and I really enjoyed it. The pieces were nice and thick and the butter was warm.

The oysters were local, fresh and fabulous. The stuffed Quahog was buttery and good sized! The lobster roll could not have been any better! Tasted like it was caught today. Extremely fresh tasty and comes with fries!

Get the fresh seafood bake with the red beans and rice. This is the most delicious seafood bake I’ve ever had in my life. Seriously please do yourself a favour and get it.
I always love to have an Oyster Po' Boy here every time I go to Boston.
Chowder was a very large portion and delicious. The oysters were fresh and yummy. Waitress was prompt and pleasant. I liked the house beer. Light, fresh and clean. Great for a sunny fall day on the patio.
Overall vibe was great! Nice outdoor seating with nice views around. The place was pretty busy for a Thursday afternoon which made the wait for a table a little long. Food and service were wonderful. Salmon was delish!
My daughter and I got the new England clam chowder and the fish and chip plate..
The fish and chips were nice the fish was cooked perfectly and the chips were cooked well too the clam chowder was nice and creamy.
Great time food was so fresh loved the lobsters 🦞 roll also clam chowder and oysters!!!! I love the atmosphere server was great, music around was so beautiful and soothing!! A must try if u have not came here yet!!! Wicked good !!!👏👏👏
Went to the Salty Dog on Saturday for an evening meal with my girlfriend. We were expertly met by our waitress for the night Aine G. The service was first class and all of the requests were met. She was very friendly and even laughed at one of my stupid dad jokes, with a hearty giggle. Thanks Aine for helping us have a memorable night with lovely food. I'd recommend the fish and chips :)
Vibe was overall nice. We got there around 1215 and got a table just in time because it got crazy busy. Good luck getting a table if there are not any open already.
I ordered the fish and chips plate and was happy with it. Add the beer and tip, it was about 40 bucks.
Probably won’t go back but glad the experience was overall positive.
I am very picky about calm chowder, and the Salty Dog did not disappoint. Absolutely delicious. A cup of that, a round of oysters, and some of the excellent fried calamari, and i was a very happy visitor. There are plenty of places to get good chowder in Boston, but i will be coming back here.
