I would give this place 10 stars if I could. The food was delicious and the staff super attentive. Very reasonable prices on food. Wine was a bit high but was very good and was recommended by staff. Description is fitting “low key”. Clean. Comfortable. Would eat there every time I’m in north end.

We were walking the Freedom Trail and decided to stop for lunch in the North end. The food was excellent and wish we didn't have to leave our leftovers behind. Anthony was very entertaining and made it a great experience.

You must have reservations or you’ll be turned away. I had clam linguine, it was good, needed more garlic. Service was good, allow 1 1/2 hours for dinner. Very small.

Bella Vista was recommended to us in 2013 by someone who had been there & loved it. We took our large family there then and have been back as a couple every trip since then. The food is delicious & the atmosphere is perfect. The chicken parmigiana and lasagna have been our favorites. The bread is sooo good. The service has been consistent from one trip to the next. This is a restaurant I now recommend to anyone who is looking for an excellent dining experience. I'm already looking forward to our next trip.

On business trip to Boston and thought that the price of food would be very expensive. Surprised how reasonable the price is for this restaurant! Food is quite big portion too. Feels like home cooked meal and food tasted good too. Food arrived quite quickly. May be we came on a busy night but would be nice if the server would smile a bit more.

We love this place. There's never a wait, the food is great, large portions (we always have leftovers), the staff is very kind and helpful (they even let us sneak in an ice cream cake as a surprise for a friend's birthday once). I always get the same thing, eggplant parm and it's wonderful.

Bella Vista is a quaint family Italian restaurant in the North End with good Italian food. Get on Open Table and get a reservation, because it can be hard to just drop in on a weekend evening. The food is authentic, fresh and delicious. Lots of foot traffic going by so it can be great people-watching. The service is quick and the people are nice. We sat near the window in the front and watched the crowds walk by as we ate. Nice atmosphere!

This review is a few years late but I brought my mom here and we had a wonderful time. The food was fantastic, however, I have to say the most memorable part was the service. Thank you to Tony for your recommendations and taking care of us!

After a traveling hiatus we returned to my favorite and the best italian restaurant anywhere. We had not been to Boston in over 5 yrs and were glad to return to see Tony still here running the show, imparting his wisdom to the "mortals" and turning out the finest Italian dishes. Nothing fancy - just simple basic dishes with great taste, great ingredients, great sauce in a quiet relaxed environment- and of course there is Tony. Been coming here for almost 20 years and can't wait to return on the next trip.

We had a wonderful meal at Bella Vista two days ago. Manager Tony served us and not only was the food delicious, ample and reasonably priced but Tony was the icing on the cake. He was attentive, polite and friendly and even entertaining after we spent a short time chatting with him. I would definitely recommend Bella Vista and if I'm ever in Boston again I will be back!

I literally never review anything. The food is absolutely amazing. This was the best meal I had on my trip, very authentic Italian food. The tiramisu is amazing and the owners are kind and friendly. Highly recommend if you’re looking for an authentic experience and to support a local business. I will definitely be back.

We found this small and cozy restaurant on Easter Sunday for our family lunch and my pre-Boston marathon good quality carb loading exercise. Our host Tony was very friendly and attentive and he gave us a lot of information and historical facts about Boston, its history, and the neighbourhood. Food was great and portions were generous. It was definitely one of the best meals we had during our week in Boston. Thank you Tony & the Team.

I just want to thank "Jason Statham" for restoring my faith in Hanover St dining. After a horrible experience at Nando the night before where we waited 90 minutes past our reservation time, hearing him say to incoming people, "Sorry Folks, we are fully Booked tonight" melted my heart. This was while seated at our cozy corner table where we were seated 3 minutes from our reservation time. He made us feel like family and waxed poetic about Melodramatics. Just amazing!

We came in with a party of four and the server asked if we had reservations. The place was maybe half full, so I don’t understand the relevance of that. Maybe that is why they placed us at a table in the back. That doesn’t really matter as the restaurant is not very big. Just an interesting way to start off the evening. Decent food. Nice service. My wife had the lasagna and it was fantastic. My daughter had the grilled chicken with potatoes and spinach. It was also good. I had the fettuccine bolognese which was quite good, but I made the mistake of having them cut up meatballs and placing it in the sauce. The meatballs were tangy. Overall a nice experience.

Wonderful family owned restaurant. Warm hospitality match by delicious and finely prepared foods. The fried calamari was absolutely scrumptious. This is a dish I enjoy but usually stay away from because it's typically over breaded, over fried and greasy. This was perfection. Lightly breaded, lightly fried and crisp. We have the sea bass. Frankly it wasn't just good, it was crazy good. Chicken parmesan was good and their house Chianti is a nice match for anything you would have a red wine with. If you have Lucia wait on you, tell her you read the review from the group of Texas at New York clowns. If your experience was anything like ours you won't be disappointed.

such a cute place! you'll definitely need reservations if you're going on a weekend but it's absolutely worth the planning. it is such a yummy restaurant, honestly everything was amazing and I know my way around some Italian food. I destroyed a huge pot of mussels there and everything else I tasted was delicious. super friendly people were working there too so it was a good time. it's definitely a good restaurant for having conversation or a romantic time.

Glad we stopped in for dinner at this gem of a restaurant. My wife and I were visiting from Tampa and decided to try Bella Vista. Superb service and excellent food. I had the chicken parmigiana and my wife had the cheese tortellini. Yum! Generous portions. And also had Hot! Fresh baked bread along with our meal. Will definitely come again if we are in Boston. Highly recommend Bella Vista. Enjoyed talking with Tony and his lovely Mother. 5 stars!
