I haven't eaten here in over 3 years and I still crave the tastiest Himalayan food I've ever eaten. Please eat here for me so I can know their food is being enjoyed.

Delicious fried Momo and sauce. Wide variety of unique and regional dishes. Accurate and accommodating spice levels. Lots of dessert options. Excellent service. Large vegan menu section. Quiet and calm dining area which is very welcome compared to the usual hubbub at other places.

Wonderful place - lots of great vegan options, and the hosts are always so kind and warm. My family's been eating here for ages; they're a staple in the community, but I just realized I never reviewed them, so I'm correcting that now. Inside they play really pretty, relaxing music, and the interior's really clean and charmingly decorated. Having both Nepalese and Indian food makes for great variety in the dishes you can chose, and I've never had a dish I didn't like. I especially recommend their weekend buffet! They always have lots of vegan options (as well as a variety of other options) and it's all fresh and delicious. If you're not vegan, they have a milk chai tea and a bunch of desserts on top of the entrees. The only thing I wish is that they'd make a vegan dessert, or maybe vegan lassis! Then they'd definitely be my top restaurant in the neighborhood.

Amazing little bistro, portions were huge and prices were reasonable. We ordered a dinner for two, and received soup, samosas, raiti, naan, a kebab plate, two dishes, and a dessert! Way too much food for two of us, but always happy to have leftovers! The Tikka masala is fantastic, and the kebab plate and samosas we're amazing. Naan was buttery and soft to perfection. Definitely a great place to stop for dinner, but very laid back, so don't expect to be in and out quickly.

I love this restaurant. Their food is delicious. My family especially loves their momos — the lamb and chicken momos with soup were the only food I wanted to eat for my birthday this year. We also love their chaats and chow mein. The restaurant is welcoming, with beautiful table settings, art, and professional and kind service. Can’t recommend this restaurant enough!

We get Himalayan at least twice a month and can’t say enough good things about it. The chicken tikka, chilis, paneer korma, and samosas are our favorites. Some of the best Indian I’ve had!

Himalayan Bistro is one of my favorite Indian places in the Greater Boston Area. I used to live somewhat near by, and would go somewhat regularly. Even now that I've moved a bit farther away, I'll still periodically make the trek back down. I've never had a problem getting a booth, with or without a reservation. In fact, many nights it seems downright empty. From watching the comings-and-goings, it looks like a lot of their business comes in as takeout orders. Before you order anything, you are given what I believe is papadum, with a trio of chutneys: coriander, tamarind, an onion. All of the chutneys will give a huge boost to the other foods you'll have during the course of your meal. My favorite appetizer from Himalayan Bistro is the coconut soup. Creamy with chunks of shaved coconut, with a strong hint of honey and some notes of cardamom. With a perfectly tangy and savory masala sauce, I've always enjoyed their chicken tikka masala. Big chunks of chicken drenched in sauce, served in a neat pot over a tea light to keep it warm. For science, I can tell you that the pot gets very hot under the tea light... no need to burn yourself... I've done that for you. Depending on what is ordered, they may give the table a big plate of rice to share. It's fragrant and moist, anything but bland. I could eat just the rice itself and be happy; when mixed with the masala sauce, it's amazing. Adding a big spoonful of the onion chutney just sends the flavor through the roof. We usually get a side of garlic naan. One piece is enough for two people, and it's a great vehicle to eat as much of the masala sauce and chutney as you can. The meat is generally sort of dry, and this is where I need to dock a star: every time I've gone, the sauces, the chutneys, and the rice have been amazing. But the meat is always slightly lacking in flavor and is a bit dry. I've tried the chicken, and the lamb several times, and have always had the issue. But clearly, it's not a big enough problem to keep me from going back if I'm in the area.

Some of the best Indian food in the Boston area!! I can't recommended them more. I usually go for their lunch buffet which is great if you like to try different dishes. Definitely give this place a try, you won't regret it!

My family and I love going here. When it first opened we tried it and fell in love with it. We stopped going for awhile due to vivid but omg this is a place where it keeps on getting better and better. I want to thank the staff and the owners for opening an amazing restaurant in west Roxbury. I hope that we can go back soon to sit down. The food to me is tasty and it transports you to Nepal and Indian.

The veg dinner for two is a great deal, but make sure they give you everything that comes with it! Last night I ordered take out, only to come home and realize they hadn't included the raita, and also forgot to include one of my favorite sauces! :( :( Ironic, too, as the cashier exclaimed that I had ordered "a lot of food!" :P The *best* deal is to dine in, because then tea is included, as well as those papadum chips which are not included when you order take out. It is a lot of food, but it makes for great leftovers!!

This is a nice restaurant with lovely decor, good food, and affordable prices. The food is usually spicy so a medium was very spicy. The mulligatawny soup was excellent. The lamb in the lamb biryani could have been more moist. The veggie biryani was good.

Great food. I've been going there for years. Moved an hour away. NO indian/Nepalese restaurants where I live now. Whenever I'm in town, I stop by for lunch. Food is still good.

I hardly write reviews but this is the Best Indian food I have had in Boston.. beautiful ambience and tasty food.. This restaurant deserves more footsteps. The lunch buffet awsome for one person with the minimal price you can imagine for such tasty authentic Indian food. People who want to spend less and eat tasty Indian food should definitely pay a visit. I ordered lunch buffet with mutter paneer, chicken momos, gulab jamun and mango lassi.. Everything tasted like restaurants at home.
