This restaurant is inconsistent in the service and food quality. One day good, next day not so. For a restaurant claiming halal, their main image is a display of alcoholic beverages! One day, the person in the reception said their meat is not halal. Perhaps it was not a good day for that employee. For the price they charge for lamb curry, they won't substitute rice for a plain nun! You have to pay $4 more. Living in the Middle East for a few years, I got spoiled perhaps.
Food: I ordered Garlic Naan, Chicken Jalfrezi, Goat Biryani. The Naan and Chicken Jalfrezi was utterly delicious. The biryani was a bit different with a mix of dry fruits and the meat could have been cooked a little longer and the biryani rice had stickiness. Rating: 3.5/5
Service: The best service you get at any restaurant. The boys kept checking if I needed anything and had a very warm and welcoming personality. Rating 5/5
Atmosphere: The atmosphere was very pleasant with some soothing music playing in the background. It was not very busy when I went but I hope more people come and try out their food. Rating 4/5

This is one of the best Indian restaurants in Boston. I've eaten here many times. There are lots of choices; hot and cold apps, different kinds of naan, with the main dishes having deep, robust, sweet, and creamy flavors. There is plenty of meat, chicken, lamb, and shrimp in each dish and many vegetarian/vegan choices as well. It's a good place to share a few dishes.
The papri chat starter, lamb korma, and garlic naan are my favorites.
The staff is very attentive.
Shanti is ok to great depending on the day, which is the main issue we noticed. The food is a bit inconsistent. My friend and I ordered spicy vindaloo, and mine was fantastic, but his lacked any hint of spice. Hopefully, it's a temporary issue, but I'd give it 4 stars in its current state.
Got takeout from here recently and it was pretty good! I look forward to trying other types of naan in the future and increasing the level of spice that I got! If you enjoy spice, it's on the milder side.
Always a great experience! Good food, friendly service, what more can you ask for?
Their garlic Naan is the best around
My favorite local Indian buffet which has top quality food and reasonably priced!
I'm from Hyde Park and passed this place I'm sure a million times and never really noticed it. I ended up being invited to a social gathering and finally had the chance to know it exists and try the food. I like Indian food but rarely eat it so this was a chance to really go all out and I did. I ordered the Mixed Grill along with some rice. I had never seen so many different types of meat on one plate. It was too good, cooked really well. All the ladies at my table were jealous since they all ordered chicken tikka masala (boring). Naturally I couldn't eat it all at once and had leftovers for a couple days afterwards. It's not far from me so I'll definitely try to go back.
Food is delicious. Interior, facilities, tableware superb. Buffet options are fantastic. Prices are more than reasonable. Will come here again
Very solid food.Vegetable samosas are excellent. Tandoori chicken is very good. Great options all around.
Amazing food! We had butter chicken and lamb saag, as well as naan and pakora. Service was incredible. We showed up 30 minutes before closing and we were not rushed and served quickly.
Got takeout. Really amazing food quality!!
One of the best Indian restaurants in the Boston area, especially for north Indian food. After being disappointed with some other highly recommended places, Shanti is easily the best for quality and quantity of food each time I've ordered delivery.
