Party of 2- aug2023: cute atmosphere desserts were pretty okay. The mango dishes were good but the savory products not a fan of. They have an assortment of drinks and many desserts to choose from. Quick service to go in and out of quickly staff there for business.

My co workers and I were wandering through Chinatown and stopped in this bakery on a moon cake mission. $20 later, we had moon cakes AND chocolate cake, and I’m sure if we had more space we would have taken even more of the pastries to go with us. Wow. What amazing food art, everything here looks and smells incredible. I also highly recommend the pineapple moon cakes!

Egg tart and buns were spectacular. Prices were cheap and the people working there were also very kind and friendly. Glad I was able to finally try what seemed like authentic Chinese pastries

Lots of traditional pastries and buns! I love that I can find steamed taro cake (woo tow go) here and other savory treats, like fried dough stick (yow zha guai) and fried dumplings (ham sui gok). Most bakeries in the area only offer sweet options that cater more to modern tastes. However, I'm disappointed that some of Ho Yuen's offerings taste overly oily and just aren't great, like the egg tart (dan tat) and cream swiss roll. The workers tend to be unpleasant, but they are efficient and move through the line of customers quickly.

Great Hong Kong style pastries including char siu (roast pork) buns, egg custard tarts, etc. Reasonable prices, fast service, and the shop was quite busy when I visited on a Saturday morning.

This is an amazing, hole-in-the-wall type of place. To me, they are the best around for Chinese pastries. I love the sesame black bean buns. I can't visit Chinatown without bringing some home.

It's a nice bakery but the items are a bit expensive. We tried the sticky rice balls with red bean paste filling. Ant they don't accept card payment if less than 10!

Good variety of traditional baked and steamed Chinese/Cantonese pastries and desserts. They even have plain white sugar boot jai go that many places don’t have.

Fantastic buns for a great price. Parking is very tricky so either take the T in or get someone to drop you off.

One of the few mom & pop bakeries still standing in Chinatown. Great buns and sweets. Cash only.

I had a good deal of difficulty communicating and ended up not getting exactly what I ordered. It still tasted good though.

The warm coconut buns are the most delicious sweet bread that I’ve ever tasted, and you can’t eat just one. Simply amazing!

Saw these things that resembled churros when I walked by and I just had to get them. I'm guessing it's a super crispy fried dough but it was good!

Authentic and affordable! This has been my favorite Chinese bakery since I was a kid. I always get egg tarts and red bean rice cakes from here. The pineapple buns are also great.
