We loved It! Great pre game cheat meal before a Celtics game. Atmosphere was cool and service was completely fine. The food was phenomenal! We had cola wings, lobster Rangoon’s, rice noodle Mac n Cheese which was delicious & the Double Chin fried rice which was great too... And you gotta end the night with a Cube Toast! Craziest dessert that was absolutely enormous and friggin awesome. Definitely a great hidden gem!

Saw this place on Phantom Gourmet and just had to try it. Was not disappointed at all. Small establishment, not fancy. The food was AWESOME. The cola wings were incredible! We ordered more than we could eat, just to have take home (Live over an hour away). Looking forward to going here again.

Unbelievable creativity in all their dishes. It's like someone took all of the coolest ideas for food and crammed them into this place in Chinatown. They have poutine! What more could anyone ask for?

I had a delicious lunch with a friend Friday, May 10, at Double Chin. Service was prompt, helpful and friendly. It was a pleasure meeting and talking with one of the owners! I'll be back!

Fun and unique Asian- Fusion restaurant that won't break the bank. Very casual and open until the early hours of the morning. Just a stone's throw from Emerson College.

Stopped by here for a late lunch. Was seated immediately as it was pretty empty. The menu's were kind of old with prices marked out for new ones and some dishes just marked out. My wife and I got the kimchi fried rice and chili popcorn chicken. The kimchi fried rice was really good, could've had more kimchi for the price though. My chili popcorn chicken was also really good, however it did not come with rice so I paid an extra four dollars for a cup. It was seasoned fairly well with an extremely light coating of fry batter. However, the chicken came with no sauce. I anticipated a sauce coating on the chicken or on the side to dip instead of just chopped chili's sprinkled over. I Don't know if I'll be back seeing how Chinatown has an almost endless amount of great restaurants. The service was fine. It was a bit pricey for the taste but you get a good portion size so it kind of balances out.

great place to dine in after a late night at a goth club. friendly staff, great food, with the ‘small on the outside but big on the inside’ type of space. i loved the boardgames and books that you can take off the shelf and bring over to your table to enjoy. the only thing i would recommend is that they should renovate the quality and overall cleanliness of the bathrooms

I dined alone, so I'm unsure if this swayed how my service went, but after being seated it took quite a while for my order to be taken and then I was ignored for the remainder of my stay after my food was delivered, I had to get someone else's attention to get my hill and pay. The food however was absolutely delicious. I ordered the XO Sautéed Rice Rolls - housemade XO sauce w/ beansprouts & fresh rice rolls. The dish is served in a warm cast iron skillet that is roughly 7-8" in diameter, the smell is mouthwatering with the savory flavor profile of the dish, and the umami flavor is rich with a nice depth of flavor from their XO sauce. The rice rolls were extremely filling with me barely able to finish half before I had to tap out. I also ordered the Ube Crepe Cake with Taro Boba, it was very rich and extremely delicious. The taro Boba paired well with the cake and it's creme filling. The service staff took my plate but left my "cup" of Boba when I finished the cake but was still eating the boba, removing my only eating utensils, so I had to take the Boba as a shot. Was still pretty tasty. Decent food, didn't finish the rice roll fish, took to home and had it for a late night dinner. Reheated up well.

I went there with my friends and the atmosphere was really cozy and nice. Staff really nice and they have a lot of dessert that I wanted to try. My friends and I shared a toast with ice cream, which was pretty good price considering the amount you got.

Visited Double Chin Modern Asian Restaurant recently and had a delightful time. We checked out the desserts and absolutely loved the ube cake - a distinct, vibrant, and palate-pleasing delight! The service was excellent, efficient, and friendly, adding to the overall dining experience. This place is evidently popular, as judged by the constant influx of patrons, which we took as a strong testament to its quality and appeal. If you're looking for an engaging, culinary adventure filled with modern Asian flavors, Double Chin is undoubtedly a go-to spot. Don't forget to leave room for dessert - the ube cake is a must-try!

Over all really good! Some of the food was delicious, and some was pretty flavorless The good; The Salt & Pepper wings, Lobster Rangoon were great! The kimchi fried rice and Korean rice cake cheesy sausage dish were good, but a little less flavorful than I would have expected on the spices level from the description, pretty tasty though! And the honey toast was phenomenal! The not so good; The "mac and cheese" wide noodle dish was totally flavorless, I think I understand the fusion they were trying to go for, but boy was it bland... The fish and chips was not all that as well, though the fries were very good, and between the two bubble tea that me and my friend got one was almost watered down tasting, and the other one was super concentrated and tasted more like coconut than taro. I loved the atmosphere though, and the service was super nice, and it was super cute to be able to just walk on over up some stairs to the bakery and get some to go dessert, and they were very kind in there too. So overall even though some of the dishes were hit or miss, I definitely come back to try more the good stuff was very good! And the not good stuff was just okay at the worst.

I always love coming to this place. It has really fun fusion food (say that three times fast). This time, I had Hong Kong style milk tea, scallion yakisoba ramen, and poutine. The poutine has kimchi but not a lot. I wish there was more cheese too. But I did enjoy having waffle fries at a place other than Chik Fil A The ramen was very greasy and oily. It had a lot of scallions and bean sprouts. And the milk tea wasn’t very hot when I got it, but it was still tasty. It’s hard to do milk tea wrong, though I’ve also had the cube toast in the past. If you get that, bring a big appetite or a lot of people because it’s a lot of bread

After a second visit, unfortunately I have to revise the rating down due to disappointing tasting of their four dishes I ordered this time. Peanut butter tofu was just way too sweet, kimchi fried rice (the sunny side egg was pre-made, hard and cold, rice was filled with chill oil, cheesy Korean rice cake was very bland, everything was thrown together, and the worst one, siracha honey chicken was just sweet and sour chicken without the siracha flavor. Love the idea of being fusion, but it’s got plenty of room to improve. A so-so 3.5🌟 (too bad Google doesn’t have half point stars). Walked by many times but never had the urge to step in until this time. Perhaps the name or the menu looked too unconventional for those looking for Chinese cuisine, simply not “authentic” like Dumpling House or Lee’s seafood. I had to admit my inherent biases after the visit. Owned by the two Chin sisters (hence the name Double Chin) who shared their deep passion for Chinese cuisines, they wanted to created something unique yet preserving the Chinese cuisine’s identity. Double Chin’s menu was simple and many items can be found in many Asia-fusion restaurants, however, their specialty menu page was what caught my eye. To be honest, it is a daring act to create a fusion menu when it is Chinese + something due to the dominating flavors demanded by Chinese style cooking. So I gave them a 5 🌟 for taking on the daring act. We ordered two recommended items from the specialty menu, the Corn Elote Skillet Rice, mixing lime spice used in preparing corns among Mexican street vendors and melted cheese with fried rice. I was pleasantly surprised by the refreshing taste from the lime spice and the taste of fried rice on a skillet. The other item was Hong Kong hot chicken Katsu Boluobao-wich, the easiest way to describe this is basically chick-fil-a + Popeyes spicy chicken sandwich on steroids. Covered by the Hong Kong style sweet tasting Boluobao buns (one of my favorite pastries), the deep fried chicken (as tender as those from chick-fil-A), sits right in-between the buns, oh and there are spicy kimchi in the place of traditional pickles. Take a bite of it, the mouth-watering taste of five layers of sweet->spicy->tender->spicy->sweet travels through every taste bud in your mouth until you furiously taking the second bite. A little heavy for sure, but who thought of Popeye’s spicy chicken sandwich being heavy when we were devouring it? Overall, I was impressed with the innovative menu items and their courage to offer a never-tested fusion menu in the highly competitive and brutal Chinatown Food Colosseum, where restaurants frequently open and closes every couple of years. A must try for those enjoying great food and especially the foodie explorers!

I went for a dinner for six and it was fantastic! The Bang Bang Shrimp was great and the Vermicelli noodles are a good choice too. There are tons of dessert options as well. The atmosphere was very welcoming and the whole place was very clean and pretty inside. Everyone was very polite. 10/10!!!

Love the fusion of HK Café style dishes! I would come again to try more. My one complaint is the HK Milk Tea did not seem to be sweetened by condensed milk like the traditional Milk Tea. Must order the Spam & Taro Fries which is served in a Spam tin!

Great place, really like the mac and chesse with rice noodles, and the span fries, deserts are interesting. Siracha bites are too small, like you dont feel the chicken, but no bad. The duck missed the mark salty and not well clean, do not order.
