Room is nice albeit a bit dated. Concierge is nice and responsive but housekeeping could be a bit better. Don't expect high turn around times which is disappointing for the price tag. If you are expecting a sub par 4 star hotel you will be right at home, but it is certainly a better experience than a 3 star hotel. Also apparently you cannot bring your own alcohol into the rooms which is a big ???.

We spent two nights here. Only one was planned but after our flight was cancelled we were happy to check back in! The staff was wonderful and even upgraded our room to a gorgeous view of the garden on our second night. I've always had a love for this hotel as my grandparents have been staying there since I was little and my college graduation party was held in the beautiful ballroom overlooking the Gardens. Never had a bad time here!

I love this hotel. I haven’t spent the night but I’ve had drinks here several times and attended a holiday party in one of the ballrooms. The staff is wonderful, and I’d like to recognize James in particular. He is by far the best concierge I have worked with in Boston and will bend over backwards to accommodate guests. I don’t find it dated inside, but I haven’t seen the guest rooms, so my experience is a little limited.

Great location. Decor, furniture and fixtures were a little dated, but all were clean and fully functional. This was clearly a luxury hotel 30 years ago (there was a telephone in the bathroom). Room was spacious and well decorated - it had a full dresser, large desk and large bathroom. I would stay there again.

We had a very nice stay here. The room was clean and nicely appointed, the staff was all very friendly, and the bed was quite comfortable. The bathroom was very nice with a strong shower and plenty of space for two people's things on the vanity by the sink. The breakfast was quite tasty with bagels, pastries, fresh fruit, cereals, hard boiled eggs, and good coffee. My only small complaint is that there wasn't a coffee maker or hot water kettle in the room. I assume they don't have them because they are time consuming to clean. But for an early riser, waiting until breakfast at 7 on the weekend would be much more pleasant if I could have made some coffee or tea in the room.

There is no parking at the hotel, you must pay to park and then walk. The hotel is very nice, there is a Tiffany's connected to it. The price of the hotel was decent, paid 200 for one night. The staff there are very nice. The rooms are clean, beds are comfortable, and some rooms over look the park. Worth the money spent.

Booked the rooms online and got a substantial discount vs the advertised rate. Hotel staff went above and beyond for every reasonable request. Great service from the valet to the concierge to the cleaning staff. Everyone we encountered was friendly. Very surprising level of service vs other hotels I've stayed in. Doesn't disappoint. Great location too.

Location is very convenient near public transportation and within walking distance of many other businesses. The atmosphere in the French room for afternoon tea was very welcoming. The service was very good overall, but our waiter did not come by very often, and we had to wait a long time near the end to get our check and some boxes.

Genuinely one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in - everything about it is excellent, the staff are great, the food is outstanding, with a lot of the produce grown on it's rooftop garden, the hotel is kept in excellent condition, the rooms are large and have a great selection of options in the mini-bar - the room service is quick also. One of the highlights is the log fires in the rooms - you have a selection of woods, which make the room smell great. The hotel bar is one of the best cocktail bars in the city...which also helps. I have stayed in 5 star hotels all over the world and this is up there with the best.

Excellent customer service, everyone is very helpful. Food is quite pricey as to be expected. Basic wifi is...passable for surfing the internet or checking email, and they offer faster speeds for a daily charge. Furnishings are lovely but I very much wish they would provide more drawer space for their double rooms. There just isn't enough space for (2) adults worth of clothes. Overall an extremely nice hotel with a very high price and very high service.

One of the finest upscale classic hotels you can find. I stayed in a junior suite and it was wonderful. The detail cleanliness decor and class were of the highest quality. Has someone in the construction business I'm very picky about bathrooms, theirs were perfect. When I arrived my father and I sad at the bar to have drinks and dinner. We both thoroughly enjoyed it and I admired their selection of bourbon, which does not happen often. I tip my hat to the Taj Boston.

Beautiful hotel. Beds very comfortable. Close to some neat places like Cheers (Bull & Finch). Expensive but most places are in Boston. No coffee maker in room. But they do offer it downstairs in lobby in mornings.

Stayed one night at the Taj. Room was spacious and very comfortable. The location of the hotel is right in the middle of everything, and it's super easy to get to just about anywhere in downtown. All the staff was courteous, friendly, and helpful. The price was competitive and much cheaper than surrounding options, but that did not compromise the quality fo our stay! Would definitely recommend staying here.

If I could give the Taj 6 stars I would. Everything was absolutely perfect. The staff couldn’t be more attentive. Food was fantastic. Afternoon Tea was fantastic. Room service was fantastic. Fireplace and fireplace butler were fantastic. I used to stay around the corner, but after my experience there and then at the Taj I will never go back to the around the corner place. ( hint, the name of the round the corner place starts with four). I most definitely will come back to the Taj next year on my annual pilgrimage to Boston.
