Flat Black Coffee is charming and has excellent coffee! Their espresso blend is flavorful and was perfectly extracted. Seating is fairly limited, but never seemed to be an issue on a Friday morning. There were 2-3 seats open at a time inside, outside tables were mostly empty since it's a bit chillier right now. 2 hour street parking is available. There was limited availability, but I managed to find a spot.
The staff is really friendly and has clearly built a strong rapport with their locale!
Great coffee roaster. I tried their light roast black in three instances, which was originally from Guatemala, and it was consistently great every time.
This is probably the best coffeeshop you can find in South Boston. Apparently they have won 2nd and 3rd place in an Espresso competition in the US.
Plus, they have a nice variety of coffee making gear such as kettle for pour over, etc.
This local spot is great! Customer service is friendly and welcoming when coming in they have great selection of banana bread, blueberry bread or muffins fresh baked! The coffee or signature drinks are delicious and the barista will make you a cool design on your coffee selection! I went with the Gingerbread latte with oak milk, a large it’s delicious a must try! Support local businesses! The store is clean and very unique it has a tables to seat at if you like and it has a certain charm about it! It’s very nostalgic!
This is the best coffee in Boston, in my opinion. Micro-roasted on site, with beans from around the world. I love the Brazil, but bought the light roast of Peruvian beans this week and it also slaps. Don't sleep on this coffee shop. They also have wifi.
Friendly People, Good Coffee
A New Zealand Staple, bringing their Flat Black/Flat White Coffee to Dorchester. A small but nice location with the tools of the trade up on display inside and a single table outside to sit and sip. Right along two busy roads, so it is not the quietest place to sit, but close enough to Dorchester Park that you can take your brew for a stroll or to sit there.
I grabbed one of their cakes on display and it was average. Its an expensive brew, but you can drink the coffee black and it tastes quality.
Easy walk to shops in the area, the old chocolate factory, the park, and the Neponset trail.
Parking are street, at the CVS or in front of Dorchester park.
Cute little coffee shop in downtown Dorchester commuted to fine coffee, sustainability and good service. I ordered a latte this morning and it was excellent.
If you want to start your day off right or if you want to experience a perfect cup of coffee, go no further than Flat Black coffee
Great coffee shop and very knowledgeable! Wonderful place to stop while in the area. Very thankful that I found this place. Make sure to stop here!!
Wonderful service, wonderful atmosphere, wonderful coffee. What more could you ask for. Thank you!
I am a regular customer and can say great coffee, friendly service, and very welcoming. Moving back to Boston from New York I was in desperate search for some good coffee outside of the typical chains. I’m sooo happy I discovered this in between my commute and daycare drop offs.
Some of the best coffee I have ever had. Excellence in coffee making.
One of the few places that don't over roast their coffee beans. The flavors are nicely developed using some of the best coffee beans. A great coffee joint for everyone, including hipsters and serious coffee drinkers. They also have some pastry and other confections but the coffee is essentially where the attention goes and you can taste it in every sip.
My friend once ordered an iced coffee. She then eagerly grabbed the cup once it was on the counter and started enjoying her heavenly cup.
The barista had sampled the coffee before placing the cup on the counter, and decided that the flavor was ever so slightly off and brewed her another cup. Shockingly, it was even better!!! Now that's perfectionism and pride in making the best stuff! Yum!
One of the best places in Dorchester to get coffee... They roast their own beans right near where you order. The coffee is smooth and full of flavor notes. The cost is only slightly higher than DD and worth every penny.
Great little coffee place. Really liked their flatwhite.
A really great cup of coffee. I also purchased a bag of their home roasted Brazil. The coffee was buttery, smooth with just the right amount of sweetness. I will be visiting weekly. I wish they were located in downtown Boston too.
Great local coffee shop who roast their own coffee. Many pastry choices.
Nice place small 3 tables you can sit read your paper
