Absolutely delicious. The beans were soft and filling. The chicken was tender inside and roasted(?) outside. You may have to wait a bit for the food, and some people may struggle communicating with the staff, but it is well worth the mild inconvenience. Jamaica Plain should be proud to have delicious comfort food like this on their main drag.
I ordered for a 15 person event roasted chicken, rice and beans, and sweet plantains. The food was delicious, seasoned well and more than enough on the portion size. I love supporting Latin businesses, they always deliver on everything.
The food is so delicious! It bring back my former friend’s mother’s cooking! It tastes just like that! So good! My partner and I got white rice with beans and we want to get beef. It was so good! We got fried pork, too and it is so delicious!
Ordered by phone. Lady only spoke Spanish but was super patient with my attempts at pronouncing things. Beef Patties were the best I’ve ever had, and the chicken empanadas were equally good. The tostones were also hot, fresh and delicious. Will definitely be going back!
Authentic flavorful Dominican food. You can’t go wrong. The garlic shrimp, oxtail or pork/eggplant stew. All favorites
Delicious Spanish homemade food and at an affordable prices. The best in town, trust me.
Fried shrimp was delicious but the rice and beans were excellent!
I’ve been coming here for over 15+ years, ever since I lived in JP as a child and this is my #1 spot for Dominican food! Everything just simply down to the white rice is authentic and after trying other good Hispanic restaurants in the Boston area, this tops all of them by far. Definitely a staple in my childhood & in the JP community!!!
This is on the best places I've visited to eat across the 48 states visited in my lifetime. The food is tremendous, portions are generous, and it feels like your sitting at your family table. They are friend, kind, and love to serve. I can't wait for my next trip to Boston to visit again.
Fun and down to earth. Delish food. A favorite of Jamaica plain for over 20 years.
The food was absolutely amazing!!!! The ladies was very nice definitely will be back
I absolutely love the food here. I always get rice and beans with plantains and eggplant sauce (if they have it, which they usually do). They also have great desserts. I don't speak Spanish, so I sometimes have a little bit of confusion communicating with the staff who seem to be mainly Spanish speakers (like if I were to ask if something is vegetarian), but they are always totally friendly and it's never become an actual issue.
My only regret is not trying El Embajador sooner. I had the fish sandwich which was delicious. I believe the sandwich is pressed and the bread had the perfect amount of crunch and overall was very tasty. While I was a bit concerned watching the sandwich a tarter sauce concoction of mayo and ketchup applied to the edge of the sandwich it added just the right amount of flavor. My husband ordered the Pollo Guisado daily special which was flavorful and huge-it came with lots of rice, beans and a side salad too. Looking forward to working my way thru the rest of menu.
El Embajador offers Dominican Style food which my wife and I love , when we come here to get Take Out we always get a Mofongo, which is mashed Plantines stuffed with chicken, and tastes amazing.
The food is always consistently good , my biggest issue with El Embajador is the inside of the restaurant looks cheap , and very aesthetically displeasing , and the reason why we always get Take Out vs. Eating in.
It's definitely an easy fix and hopefully they read this and learn it's what holds them back from earning their 5th star from me , because it's not the food holding then back.
Either way , definitely worth buying food from , I have never been disappointed from El Embajador , taste wise
This place is closed for ever now, they are no longer there anymore, the property was sold for new building.
