Surprisingly great sushi for the middle of the mountains! Dave's never disappoints, the quality is really great and the food is delicious. Pros - lots of gluten free options (including the tempura!!), good size portions, new menu additions often and friendly staff. Cons - the menu is overwhelmingly large, a little pricey. I prefer to pick up and take home rather than eat at the restaurant most of the time since it's consistently SUPER busy and packed with people. worth a stop!
Had a great time at Dave's. The sushi is amazing and well worth the price. Best sushi I've had to this day. The sushi chefs know what they're doing, chef's choice is always a good way to go. Amazing atmosphere and our server Matthew provided awesome service. 10/10 reccomend. I'm happy they enclosed what use to be their outdoor seating.
On the drive to Bozeman from the airport, highway billboards proclaim that Dave's sushi is the best in Montana - a message that stuck days later when someone proposed sushi for dinner. Wow was that billboard right! Surprised and delighted at every course, we enjoyed many rolls, the fried collar, and a bowl of churashi. Quality through and through. Highly recommended and will definitely be back. Significantly better sushi than most everything in its price tier.
The food is absolutely delicious! Best sushi and I’ve ever had! If you go I high recommend getting the New Zealand salmon nigiri. Everything we tried here was great.
Wow!! What a wonderful hidden local gem! The wait is definitely worth it. Great service and wonderful, fresh sushi. We sat at the sushi bar and admired the knife work of the sushi chefs. Had a great time.

Dave's was delicious. Id go check it out again if I'm in Bozeman as they have some very unique rolls that Id still love to try. Great atmosphere and our server was just a gem. It'd be fun to check out in the summer months as they have garage doors that open up. Add the avocado and get the Bliss Roll. So good!
As if Dave’s needs another 5 star review…. To start off, we love this place. I’ve been coming here maybe every other month for the last 8 years, if not more. Often enough that it’s not uncommon for the staff recognize us! The food is just amazing — we always get edamame, two canned Sapporo’s, and a bunch of rolls. She gets salmon sashimi, a John Wayne, and two other rolls; I get a Christmas Showers (arguably the best single roll ever) and 3 other rolls. The per-roll price has gone up quite a bit since we started eating here, but the quality has remained the same or gone up the whole time. I understand why it’s getting more expensive, I just wish it didn’t have to be that way.
The specials are always something really interesting — recently they’ve had Uni, which is not common in Montana. They serve it on crispy rice squares, which is fantastic. They also always have good stuff for people that aren’t fond of fish. Their ramen and other noodles are amazing. Not what I usually get, but it’s pretty neat of them to make that to the same very high standards as the rest of their food.
I want to say that between my SO and I we’ve had everything on the menu so long as it doesn’t have Escolar. Only because of this weird not-so-fun fact about eating Escolar steaks that we’d prefer to never ever confirm first hand. It not unsafe to eat or unsanitary or anything, it just disagrees with some peoples’ stomachs
This was a fun place to check out in Bozeman. The atmosphere is very relaxed and fun with a large variety of traditional and unique varieties of sushi to choose from. The place seemed pretty busy which proves that the food and vibes were good all around. The rolls and nigiri we ordered were really well made and quite satisfying. There was also a great selection of local beers and drinks to enjoy as well. I would definitely recommend this place for a night out in Bozeman!
