Thanks to this Bakery I've been looking for cake for months for my wedding everywhere I go was overpriced and not nearly what I was looking for. As I drove by this place and remember coming here for the pastry when I was young. As soon as I walk in you can smell the taste of goodness of ALL the pastry. The kindness the way I was treated. I told them about my cake that i envision and they absolutely exceeded All my expectations thanks you so much. I have the cake that I always wanted. The taste was phenomenal all my guests wanted to take home. The look of the cake was gorgeous it's unexplainable it was just absolutely perfect. I'm definitely going to continue ordering from this place it's my number one to go to
Del Prete is the best traditional Italian Bakery in the northeast, let alone Bridgeport! There is no other bakery that can similarly compare! Throughout the decades of holidays and birthdays, my family has relied on Del Prete for the delicious taste of nostalgic memories in their cookies, cakes and pastries!
For my 50th birthday, my husband surprised me by bringing me home to CT from Delaware for a rum cake. No one makes them better than Del Prete. It was DELICIOUS!!! It tasted just like I remembered. Thank you for making my day special!

My husband had a cannoli cake made for my birthday....I have never had a better cake in my life! He also brought home pastries.....simply amazing! I don't believe I've ever had better.....

I went to the bakery on Friday because it was referred to my fiancé and I by the wedding venue we booked. It is very old school Italian bakery (which are the best). You walk in your senses arise to all the different smells that make your mouth water. I spoke to one of the employees who had the owner come talk to me. Lou who was a very nice man. He told me how you can tell the difference in pastries, specifically cannoli’s. As I told him my mom would love this place, because it would bring her back to her childhood. It was an awesome time. We went onto to talk about wedding cakes of course. I asked if he had cupcakes or something my fiancé can try to get a sense of what to expect. He put together a small sampling tray of pastries and said I wish your mom could try these as well, but I guarantee you won’t get the authentic taste anywhere else as I keep to tradition. That night his statement was correct. My fiancé and I went back the next day to purchase more. We even went to the other bakery that was referred to compare. What a huge difference. Everything Del Prete made was light, fresh, and moist. With an owner who can come out to speak to you for that length and his pastries are phenomenal. How can you say no to Del Prete.

Came home from New Orleans for a visit and celebrate my 62nd birthday wit a cannoli cake. It was awesome. Shared it with my children, grandchidren and great grands and they all enjoyed it.
So I always walk by this place, usually while working out so I never have funds on me, but this time i was just commuting on foot sho decided to stop in to see if they had black and white cookies. They did! Yay..
So got one of those. And a small box of assorted cookies (shortbread, fig, chocolate dipped fingerlings things, jelly sandwich) then helped myself to a large cannoli, 2 creme puffs, and a rum dipped pastry I can't remember the name. Yes i tasted them all, tees they were all delish. My fave outside the b&w cookie, was the jelly ones. Soooo good with a nice amount of sweetness. The cannoli was fresh and creamy. I was glad to stop in.
Del Prete is amazing! They couldn't have made me happier. I've never had a wedding cake that I've liked, from any of the weddings I've been to, so I was extremely against having a cake for my own. My whole family argued with me and made me get a cake, which I wasn't looking forward to. I was skeptical about the cake at first, but I loved how it turned out! It was honestly one of the best cakes I've ever had in my life, and they were super accommodating with the flavors I wanted. Thank you again for the delicious cake, everyone loved it!!!
I have been buying cannoli rum cakes and pastries at Del Prete for over twenty years, and for twenty years I’ve been 100% satisfied! Everyone who works there is always friendly and welcomes me with a smile. The bakery is always clean and the food is always fresh. I’ve never had a bad experience. The cannoli rum cake is my families favorite. If you haven’t tried it, I would highly recommend that you do!
I wish this place would be open forever but all I can say is go while you can. They are still the best and will remain so until they decide to shut down and retire. The cannoli cake is unbeatable and well they are really the best for everything they do. Thank you again for reminding me what heaven will be like
Went here because I was in the neighborhood and my stomach was grumbling, was on my way home. I didn't want to buy fas food so I looked over a this chain of what looks like a family owned business expanded of pizza, eat in dinning, bakery of fancy cakes. So I park, open the door to the bakery store side, but was actually looking for the pizza side. Folks let me tell you, that my words will not do justice to the actual reaction I had when I realized I was surrounded by pastries of edible proportion. Actual bite sized cookies, pastries, and cannoli. They had cannoli's. The kid in me couldn't help but come out and partake in the indulgence of these Godlike made pieces of heaven you ate as a kid but only on very super special occasions and holiday's. It was Mother's Day weekend and I went in hard. 2.5 lbs I happily ate on my drive home and for the next 2 days, til the last cookie.
I ordered a rum cake on Tuesday (for my sister's birthday) to be picked up Wednesday afternoon. This rum cake was SO delicious and fresh. I can't wait to order my dad's birthday cake in a few weeks!!
The small place on the row of eateries. Extremely friendly, fantastic filling, wonderful cookies - just a heaven for everyone sweetteethed. Just love it.
