My husband and I have heard great things about this place, and finally made it to their Sunday Brunch today. Wow! It was superb! They have an abundant selection of yummy breakfast and lunch foods, including an omelet station and waffles, a carving station with roast beef, pork and fried turkey, and great desserts and fresh juices. We also had a delicious berry mimosa. The restaurant is located in a beautifully restored Victorian house. We ate on the charming front porch, in comfortable leather chairs. The service was great and the owner/chef, Jason, made sure all of the guests were happy. We can't wait to go for dinner. Don't miss this place if you are near Bristol!
An incredible dining experience. 5 stars for each of my senses that were indulged at this charming restaurant. The wine selection was excellent, the food was cooked to perfection and we savored each and every bite. The service was nothing short of outstanding. Natasha (our server) fulfilled her duty with detail and enthusiasm. Very personable. Highly recommend this place for any dining occasion. As we sipped a glass of wine on the porch, we watched patron after patron compliment the owner as he offered a smile and kind word as they all left with a satisfied smile on their face as well.
Set in the middle of 6th ave in downtown Bristol, this unassuming Victorian home comes to life with fine dinning and Southern charm. The prices are reasonable compared to the quality of this one of a kind restaurant in the Tricities. No matter where you live, it's worth the drive to check this place out. You will not be disappointed.
Huge thank you to the staff at J Frank's for making my step-mothers birthday fabulous. Special shout out for the delicious cake they made.......highly recommend J Frank's for any occassion. Thank you!!!
I do believe this is the best non chain restaurant in tri cities. It was fabulous and for a breakfast buffet and lunch buffet at the same time you can't beat the price. It is well worth it. I will be going back. And the choice of drinks spot on.
Best service, best food, best choice for a nice dinner with your spouse or whole group of friends anywhere around the tricities !! Love it
6 of us Celebrated our grandsons 16 birthday there last night and it was perfect! Two in our group have food allergies and the chef came to our table and made suggestions which were delicious. If you have food allergies J Frank is the place to go! Can't wait to go back.
The only place you can get this level of service and inventive food in the Tri City area. Plus, the brunch is mind blowing.
Our favorite place! Jason and staff make sure your experience is welcoming, relaxed and extraordinary. The food..oh my the food!..there aren't enough adjectives! Treat yourself...you wont be sorry!
Amazing food, service and atmosphere!! Totally worth the short drive from JC!! Jason has outdone himself here!!!
Incredible food and amazing service! Jason never disappoints. If you have not eaten here you are missing out on some of the best food in this area!
Great breakfast buffet. The food is awesome with a wonderful variety. Loved the music and service. Breakfast and dinner specialties
Best Sunday brunch for miles and miles. Great food, great staff, even better times!
Love the atmosphere but the food and the hospitality are what makes it 5 Star. Jason is the best.
We absolutely love everything about this restaurant. Jason is brilliant. Brunch has always been my husbands favorite, especially, him being a NewYorker, he has been at some of the best. Hands down, J Franks is the top notch restaurant that you don’t want to miss. Loved the jazz music he played while enjoying the array of delicious foods. Can’t wait to go back.
We had a late Valentines dinner here. This was my first visit to the old "Troutdale's" restaurant. We had the crab hushpuppies app and the rainbow trout. Both were amazing. The cocktails were perfect as well. Finished the night with their Italian berry cream cake. Beautiful venue, food, and company!
Plenty of seating. This place is a historical building built in 1872. You can seat indoors, on wicker furniture on the wrap-around front patio, or their lateral outdoor courtyard with a fire pit. The evening ambiance is evening chill and “romantic”. Hanging lights and tabletop canters with kerosene. The courtyard flooring is pebble and shells so heels are not ideal. Dress is smart to business casual, skip the athletic gear. I noted a business dinner and an anniversary being celebrated while there. I went on a Thursday evening at 8pm. Portions are generous. Order the duck fat Brussels sprouts! They are the most tender ever! The old fashion cocktail was a bit on the sweet/artificial side however the food is well prepared and very rich in flavor. The shortcake was homemade and delish but the key lime cake was a bit on the artificial tasting side as well. Overall a fabulous evening with great care by our waitress,
April.
Had a great time at Brunch to wrap up our weekend in Bristol. We had a personal tour of the history, architecture, kitchen, decor of the establishment while the food was coming. The staff shared some ghost experiences. Food and cocktails were excellent. The whole experience was like being in Charleston. If we lived closer we would certainly head over in the evening to check out the bar or outdoor scene.
It was wonderful. Enjoyed the whole experience. Perfect for date night, anniversary, birthday etc.
Staff was friendly and great. Nice atmosphere inside and out. The food was both beautiful and delicious. Will visit again when we are in the area...would highly recommend!
Delicious as always! Great service too!
Chef's table was amazing!! Stuffed shrimp first course was to die for! Salad course with the crusted goat cheese was divine! Sea bass course was delicious. Lamb was good - didn't taste any lamb at all which was why it was good. Dessert course was not overly sweet. Wines were great! We were stuffed & had a wonderful experience.
Excellent all the way around! The food was delicious with good portions. Our server Annabelle was friendly and attentive. The best restaurant I've eaten at in Bristol yet!
