We stopped in for a bite today on a whim, and I am so glad we did! The food is amazing. I had the Prince Albert Pierogis, boiled. My husband had sausage and sauerkraut. The sauerkraut is made "Baba's way" which is NOT the strong vinegar we're accustomed to. Instead it has a warm spiced flavor that we really enjoyed. Everything was perfect.
This review is specifically for food delivery, which I usually use Uber eats. The past three times I have ordered the blueberry pierogies and the potato latkes and All three times the sour cream, applesauce, and whip cream Were all missing. I called the restaurant to double check if those things were included and they are, so it’s an error on their part. There’s not much I can do except contact Uber Eats to credit my account. The food here is really really really good. I just wish that there was more attention to delivery orders because this is happened time and again and it’s honestly discouraged me from re-ordering in the future. When I called to ask about the issue, the person on the phone was very apologetic and polite, but there’s nothing they can do. I’m giving them a four out of five because the food is really good but I don’t think I’ll be ordering delivery here again.
Super tasty. The place is very nicely decorated. My bill + tip ended up being around $26 for 9 pierogies and a Diet Coke.
Had such amazing food here! The staff are amazing! Having been to Slovakia and had same dish as well as my fiancé being from Slovakia I can confirm this is exactly Slovakian Traditional food!! And tasted exactly the way it was supposed to be! Thankyou for making such cosy and unique place on our trip to NYC!!👌
The waitress was super friendly and the restaurant is quite small. So if you're larger than 4 people. I would call ahead and make sure they have enough space. the food was cooked very quickly and the menu selection is perfect to give you all the things that you would want, including beer. I had the spinach and cheese parogies and also the cheddar parogies. I really recommend the calbasa and it was a great atmosphere with a lot of visitors coming. Just to look for this place. So if you're in the area and you want Polish food, this is where you need to go.
Their food was absolutely delicious. The employee was so sweet and so helpful. If you’re ever in the area, you have to check them out.
Also, definitely try the applesauce with the pierogies!
My Slovak girlfriend and I had a great time here. We ate a lot and loved the food.
The service is outstanding and it was a pleasure spending our evening in Baba’s Pierogi. :)
Absolutely fantastic atmosphere with comfy seating and nice vibes. The pierogies speak for themselves! You HAVE to get at least a couple sides! Definitely recommend the onions and bacon. Family owned and it shows! Would come here twice a week if I lived in NYC!
Very clean and friendly service. Sloppy Kielbasy sandwich had a great flavor snd went perfect with their beer Czechvar on tap..
We love ordering take out from Baba’s. It’s my favorite pierogies spot that I’ve had in the city (comparing it to Veselka and pierogi boys). I like their assortment and the different ways you can customize it (fried or boiled with all kinds of toppings and sauces). Favorites are probably the potato and cheese and jalepeno but they are all great!
Made our foray into Brooklyn even more memorable! The fillings are well-thought out and would be great spreads (or dishes) on their own. Staff are as great as the food!
This place is a lovely gem! The pierogies are delicious and they offer a nice variety. We have always found the service very pleasant. It actually feels kind of homey in the best way possible. The atmosphere is light and airy. It is definitely small, but we have never had to wait for a table. It is a little pricey and if you order a variety, the bill adds up, but the food is so good and the fare different than the usual offerings, we think it is worth it! Best pierogies!
So good!! I got the carrot salad for something lighter but I tried a piece of my dad and brothers latkes and pierogis and they were delicious! Service was great, she was very kind! If we were locals we'd come here again!
These pierogies are light, fluffy and delicious. The restaurant is simple, but cozy. They are one of the few places where you can get sour cream, apple sauce, and caramelized onions to put on top and have a delicious festival of flavor in your mouth. They also sell bags of frozen pierogies to take home! I had Mom's Favorite Pierogies (farmer's cheese) and they were awesome.
The pirogies are good.
We had Mac and cheese, feta and spinach, potato and cheese. With onions.
The onions and fries were amazing. The pirogies I liked. I would eat them again but would not make specifically the trip there.
Service was excellenr
Amazing variety of pierogis including dessert pierogis. My favorite dessert option was the apple pie pierogi. It’s nice that you can order them fried or boiled. I always buy some frozen ones to make at home. This is my go-to place for pierogis. Highly recommended.
Love this place. I used to pop in when I lived nearby and now we order delivery once in a while. Always liked their pierogis but had to review after having their latkes. Best takeout latkes I’ve ever had - I come from a family that only ever ate homemade. We also recently tried their vegan pierogi. Not quite as tasty but a very serious contender. Would highly recommend trying this place.
Small eatery featuring a menu of pierogies and other Eastern European delights. Service could not have been more nice, friendly, and welcoming. Love the simple yet modern interior with wooden touches, it makes for an airy ambience. The dishes were quickly prepared, and all were scrumptious and filling! Will definitely come back again for more!
