The year before last I spent New Years Eve Bar Tabac. The place was Festively Bustling. There were no tables available and I did not have a reservation. I asked the manager if we might have dinner. With a snap of his finger the workers carried out a table and some chairs. They literally created a space for us. It was one of the best New Years I've ever had. We enjoyed the pre-fixe menu with wine pairings for each course. The food was divine. The band was excellent. The service wonderful. I will definitely return!!!

I went with a couple of girlfriends for dinner on a rainy weeknight. A beautiful glass of Bordeaux, some shared appetisers was a lovely start to the meal (the fried calamari was light and not oily or rubbery with a delightful piquant marinara sauce). The coq au vin was rich and comforting on a bed of mash with green beans and the mussels had a white wine and garlic sauce that was worth drinking afterwards! The waitstaff were so attentive but not at all obtrusive. One of the best dining experiences I have had in NYC. Highly recommended!!

Loved the tuna tartare....the best I ever had! I recommend to try the rose' wine Corsica! It is delicious and dangerously "light". Good service. I will for sure go there again!

Great brunch place!!! The best croque monseure I've had in NYC. The food was delicious but we waited for over an hour (which is quite tricky when you come with a toddler.

If you happen to be in the Boerum Hill area I would stop by and grab the salmon burger. It was juicy, lemony and super fresh. The calamari was also very well done, crispy and the sauce that comes with it was tangy and mildly spicy. I was not the biggest fan of the charcuterie board we got. The meats were regular cuts of deli meat and a patee that was good but I have no idea what it was made from. I still ate it though- it’s an acquired taste. I wouldn’t recommend it but if you’re in need to grab something to share then that’s a good idea.

This place is as French as can be when you're in Brooklyn. The ambience, the decor, the music, the bottles on display, the food and drink menu. I had the tartar, and it was great! Will come back if I'm in the area again!

Great place for French casual food & atmosphere. Went there 3+ times, got steak frites, charcuterie board once. Recommend! Wish they would serve fresh baguette instead of rye bread with certain dishes though.

A nice laid back restaurant. The food and cocktails were great. The atmosphere is perfect for a relaxing afternoon. We went for late lunch and the service was a little slow, however we didn't complain as the ambience was nice. The outside tables are spaced out enough unlike the cluttered NYC places.

Stopped in here for drinks and appetizers and sat at the bar. The lighting is low, music at a good level, & the service was great. The calamari was perfection, French fries were pretty basic for truffle fries. But overall this is a great spot for quick bite, a date night, or solo dinner/drinks.

I'm a big fan of bar tabac! I live in the neighborhood nearby and whenever i'm in the area I make sure to stop by. everything on the menu is pretty classically french, not a "riff on a classic" so you know what you're getting into. the french onion soup, burger, niçoise, and frites were great. I love the jugs wine. on weekends they have live music which is a special treat! the staff is lovely and very french too.

Went for brunch - simple restaurant inspired from French brasserie. No frills place that does the job and makes you feel in a true brasserie. Dishes were quite good, coffee was decent but nothing exceptional.

The bar is a good vibe and the moules frites and spicy margs were solid. The service, unfortunately, not so much. Our bartender was (apparently) getting off their shift after taking our order, yet never told us nor the new bartender. We waited around for a bit, and no one helped us out or said anything, so I went to the bar to re-order. The new bartender was nice and made a great drink, and while apologetic, it was still a bit clueless...But, this stuff happens. Unfortunately, it happened twice tonight. We had a server come by later to check on us, and he took our food and second drink order. The drinks never showed nor did he check on us again. Food was very solid though. We're hoping it was just an off night for service and we're going to give it another shot and I'll amend my review if so ... 🤞🏻

Excellent experiences here and I’m writing this review after my 4th visit. Each time I thought it was excellent and each time has been ever better than the last. I have to say, the calamari is amazing. I don’t usually order calamari and am not a fan of the fried version generally, but their version was perfect - tender, not even the slightest bit of greasiness from being fried and amazing flavor and the accompanying sauce really complimented the calamari and did not mask any of the flavor at all. If I lived closer I would go all the time.

Nice French restaurant— we went for brunch and the drinks and food were tasty, but the food was a little on the cold side. Service was pretty good— everyone is friendly and polite. I think they were setting up for a really large group which distracted people a bit.

The best stuff on the menu is definitely the salads. The warm artichoke and the duck confit are standout. Otherwise, it's a pretty chill neighborhood bistro/diner with a good vibe, below-average bread and great outdoor space. As everyone else has mentioned the live music is a fantastic addition but it's got a lively energy regardless.

Had the pleasure of celebrating my birthday at Bar Tabac and had a wonderful time! We enjoyed great wine recommended by their sommelier, Pierre, who is very attentive and kind, and were able to cut my birthday cake there. As a group of 16 we were able to book the back lounge for a cozy private experience. 10/10

Absolutely excellent. I cannot rave enough about the food here. The warm lentil salad was fantastic. The poached egg was perfect, the lentils, peppers, and bacon came together very well. The grilled chicken was delicious too! This place is a favorite of my partner's, and she loved her chicken sandwich. And the fried calamari was some of the best I have had outside Italy

Went for Bastille Day. It was so busy and full but we still were seated in 15 minutes. Got the steak Frites. Staff was very kind and swift. Brunch at this spot is also great. Live music on the side walk and at night in the bar. it’s a great vibe in the neighborhood

We had an excellent lunch, sitting outside of their restaurant. They are not serving inside. The waiters were helpful and maintained social distancing. While they do not have their liquor license at the moment, we enjoyed excellent drinks and a wonderful lunch. I had the grilled chicken on a wrap with guacamole. My wife had their artichoke salad and another friend had their burger!

Cozy bar and restaurant. The staff were friendly and helpful. My favorite part was the live band on Monday night - they were outstanding! I'll be back to listen to them and enjoy some food and drinks.

Had been meaning to try this place for a while. I was definitely missing out on great food. Went for brunch and had their baked eggs. They were absolutely delicious as was their coffee and fresh orange juice. Service was wonderful as well. I will definitely be back for more.

Lunch time delight! French Onion Soup was great, I needed more salt but everything else was delicious. The mushroom & spinach quiche for the lunch special is superb. It tastes fresh and the flavors are great. My favorite part is the crust, not to hard not to soft.
