this place was really hyped up for me. the tacos were pretty okay but I wish they had more texture and flavors. The best ones were the tripe and shrimp and spicy pork, also had the beef and the tongue but they were all really just okay.
Fabulous food, we went back for a second night during our NYC trip. Every we had was great. The Beef tongue tacos were great the meat just fell apart in your mouth. enchiladas had tonnes of flavour. I actually had a mix up I'm my order and was served the wrong dish but it was a plate I had being thinking about. Just went with it and it didn't disappoint. I just took it as a sign that I was supposed to have it.
I loved the tacos. Around noon they were very fresh and juicy. The staff was attentive. The price is great for the quality.
The night before I tried their food truck and was amazing, tacos campechanos taste exactly like in mexico and so does the agua de horchata, however enchiladas were not my fav
This is the best Mexican dinner I had in such a long time. Everything they fed me was so tasty. We got steak fajita, Mexican style shrimp with rice and beans and al pastor taco. Big portion, Free chips and salsa as well.
I wish they have more tripa tacos available though. It is often sold out at both the truck and the restaurant 😂
I was recommended here by a friend who said these are the best tacos she knows. For sure, they are the most voluminous tacos I now know. The sheer amount of meat they have in the tacos make it worthwhile, even though it has raised its prices like everyone else.
As a disclaimer, I came here at night, close to 9pm. That was probably my mistake, since the meat is a bit dry in the barbacoa tacos by then. I ordered nine tacos also, and I was absolutely overwhelmed by how generously sized the regular ones were. I somehow managed to finish. I got the buche, suadera, and barbacoa. The buche was the best by far. It's pig stomach and remained tender and juicy compared to the other two meats. The food also came with tortilla chips and grilled green onion and cucumber, as well as red and green sauce. It was all quite the feast and satiated my taco craving for sure.
The server lady was very nice. It wasn't very busy in the restaurant half I sat in. The decoration is quite beautiful, with painted images on the walls of horses and verdant scenery. The location is conveniently by the 45th street R train station.
Overall, it was a nice look at different tacos that didn't just make the usual meats in the mainstream. The prices are quite good considering how much this would cost you in the city, and I highly recommend it. Just, maybe come earlier than I did.
Went here for lunch and the service was stupendous!
I love how they served everyone fast. The food was also out in less than 10 minutes. The servers and kitchen were on point. They automatically serve you chips and salsa while you wait and bring you water.
(Some places you must ask for water, which I never understood)
I enjoyed: 2 mini chicken tacos and 1 regular steak taco. They delicious. The presentation of the food is a big plus.
Will definitely come back!
My boyfriend brought me here and the food was incredibly tasty. Large portions for very fair prices. I ordered the steak enchiladas which were cooked perfectly and unlike a few other places, there was perfectly juicy steak pieces in every bite. Absolutely recommend this place.
the quality has been consistent for the past year. I read with great difficulty those who give these folks 1 to 2 stars. They all admit that they have eaten from here numerous times, but then they got “disappointed.” ??? Mind boggling. People are just ridiculous lol
Anyway, here is my full 5 stars because these guys do a great job at producing what is gourmet tacos. I have tried over half their stuff. Fantastic. The tortillas never disappoint. And the sauces are on point. The fillings, flavorful. The lines are always there, evidence that great tacos are made here. I look forward to having their tacos.
A quick stop for some highly recommended tacos. They didn't disappoint. Simple yet flavoursome and delicious.
Don't be fooled by how this place looks. It's super legit and such big portions & great flavors! I got the tongue, the pork, and steak
Everything was delicious and I'll definitely come back
As a mexicain I'm proud to say the place and food were both amazing! I loved the first bite out of that taco. So delicious, definitely going again. The service was okay my friends and I waited like 30 mins trying to get the bill but overall it was great!
These tacos are a great bang for your buck. The standout tacos were the pork stomach and tender beef. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the fish & shrimp tacos or the chorizo (it was really dry and crispy).
The service was also kind of slow but they seemed to be understaffed and it was extremely busy.
Second visit and took a long 2.5 hour walk to get here from the city just to really appreciate the food on a good empty stomach. Got tacos: shrimp, fish, tongue, tripe; trip soup; nachos; steak tostada. Excellent service and the food is outstanding.
My first time here in my continuing quest for the best tacos in NYC. I took it as a good sign that there appear to be a number of Mexican restaurants and grocery stores in the area. And sure enough, this place is the real deal! They boast an extensive menu that I would love to explore but today was about the tacos. Ordered the bistec, campechanos, and carnitas. First off the corn tortillas - the foundation to any good taco - were on point. And they were all filled to the point of bursting and smothered with guacamole. All were delicious and served with a choice of green and red hot sauces. Of the three, the carnitas was probably my fave - nice moist shredded pork that had just the right amount of crispness to it. I’ll definitely be returning here.
It’s def the best tacos in New York! We had fish taco&three flavor tacos & Fajitas mixtas, everything just so fresh and delicious!
The food was good but the service was not perfect.
UPDATE - Ate here again yesterday evening around 10 pm. Still a great place to take out or sit down and eat. Service is slow as venues are still recovering from the pandemic but the food was 9/10 and horchata still very tasty 9/10. Six regular steak and salty beef tacos w guac, steak burrito and large horchata $38 and I have an $8 tip for the generous portions and friendly staff. They had a crazy amount of takeout orders as well!
Haha so good! The tinga is fantastic. Admittedly 4 tacos turned out to be a lot more food than expected. The guacamole is legit as well. Can’t wait to go back.
