This place is amazing. Love the vibe, the unique and incredibly flavorful food, and the drinks... oh the drinks! So excited to have this in the neighborhood!
Cocktails were amazing, Jonathan our mixologist not only made amazing drinks, but was friendly and helpful with suggestions.
While we already had dinner plans, we wanted to try the beet tostada - and so glad we did as it was just as delicious as it was stunning looking. I truly can't wait to go back and try more of the menu.

Glorious food! Must go back to try everything else! Love Mezcal? Imagine flight options!
Their food is delicious and has a lot of complex.
Service is good. Whenever service is needed, they would come to help.
The place is quite packed. I hope they would have fewer tables to make customers more comfortable. The place is way too dark that I could not even see what I was eating.
Claro is some of the best, most delicious food you’ll ever eat! It happens to be authentic Mexican. From the starters, to the mains to the desserts 🍮, it’s all remarkable. One of the best mezcal tasting menus in NY. Friendly service rounds out the experience. PS: it’s now alacarte! So, if you just want a taste, have a taste!
My mother is very sensitive to gluten and it was such a relief to be in a restaurant that has 0 gluten. The food was also insanely good. We got the four course tasting menu and highly recommend it.
This restaurant was on my list and it didn’t disappoint. We decided to do a pre-fix menu and try most of the dishes, which I highly recommend. A lot of the dishes were creative and I got to explore a different take on mexican dishes. I enjoyed all the dishes but my top fav dish was the short ribs with bone marrow. This restaurant is also famous for their mezcal drinks as well.
Cute spot in the neighborhood with a great brunch. It’s been years since I’ve had an amazing MOLÉ and this one definitely was. You could taste the quality in the heirloom tortillas. Looking forward to coming again.
Celebrated my 28th birthday here and it didn’t disappoint. As a Mezcal fan, I needed to experience the food and Mezcal tasting. It was such a delicious and unique experience to try the food and the different Mezcals. I didn’t know how different they can all taste. Had the best lamb tacos of my life here, the red rojo pork cheeks were to die for and the desserts were amazing - rice pudding for the win. Loved the heat and spice of all the food. Such a quality establishment and would love to dine here again.
lovely service, but personally thought the food was overrated. not bad prices at all. beautiful plating but everything was so rich, even the starters, it was a little too much. nothing light on the menu, would have appreciated a salad or something light to start.
The most delicious meal I've experienced so far this year. Underrated, unfussy, incredibly clear flavor profiles, and the Mezcal pairings were impeccably done. There are no glowing signs to attract your attention, in a nondescript part of Park Slope, a simple intimate ground floor setting. The food was incredible, from the first bite to the last. The short rib mole was indeed the most memorable, but the rest was a close second. Never had a Mezcal pairing with food before, but this clean freshness of some seriously authentic Mexican flavors, coupled with the smoky and sweet at times, I will not soon forget. I hope to return often. One Michelin star, very affordable, with the largest Mezcal collection I've ever seen. Whatever your notion of Mexican cuisine, this will not disappoint.
The yellow fin tostada was great, but the short ribs with mole was way too salty. The desert was very indulgent bordering cloying but nevertheless it was good. Good restaurant but maybe not worth going to just for the reputation of the Michelin star.
Excellent, fairly-priced meal. The food is downright finger-lickin’ good. If you’re not already familiar with Oaxacan cuisine and mezcal, this meal will be eye-opening and educational. Portion sizes are big enough to make you leave absolutely stuffed, yet the judicious use of vegetables prevents the meal from becoming too heavy.
The mole doesn’t come with tortillas. You should order a stack. Claro is proud of their masa, made in-house with criollo corn imported from Oaxaca. What a difference that makes! The tortilla are soft, as if they dutifully followed a skincare routine, and almost fluffy—just as satisfying as eating rice.
Claro is more than a restaurant. It’s also a mezcal bar. In hindsight, I should’ve gotten the mezcal pairing instead of a cocktail. I thought all mezcals will be smoke-bombs, but that’s far from the truth! It’s a liquor with a rich tradition and a wide range of flavors, like wine or sake. If you’re not familiar with mezcal, please don’t order cocktails; give mezcal a chance.
Service is excellent. The staff are warm and knowledgeable. They’ll guide you through the menu and explain the traditions behind the drinks.
Claro has a Michelin star, yet they don’t mention it anywhere on the website or premises. They let the food speak for themselves. I personally think they’re on the higher end of the one stars, especially for the value delivered at that price.
Amazing and lovely presentation of their items. Their mezcal selection is lovely and unique. Their veal garnachas are a must and blew me away. Delish. Their moles were delicious, I got the red mole and my boyfriend got the black mole. The meat in our mole was falling apart and the dish was well composed, although I felt like the red mole was a little too salty. The rice was white, and although was seasoned, I felt like the right pairing should have been red rice. Please do not hesitate to get the peach rice pudding if it’s in the menu because even though we were stuffed, we couldn’t stop eating it.
Came here Father's Day for the set menu lunch and was blown away. I've never had mole before and this experience sets a really high bar for it.
The mole with short ribs was the highlight, but honestly every dish was very tasty and flavor combinations that I've never had.
Dessert capped off the meal perfectly, with fresh made churros, mezcal ice cream (whaaattt 🤯) and chocolate mole cake.
Service was great, our server Alan was very attentive and offered to help take a group photo for us when we were done.
Definitely coming back again!
Parking around the area was not bad at all on a Sunday afternoon, easily find a spot half block away around the corner.
What an awesome meal. Great drinks, food and service. We walked in at 6 pm on Friday night and were able to easily get seated at the bar for a la carte. High recommend! There’s a huge patio so consider this spot when the weather is swell.
We had four people and we did the tasting menu which means we got to taste everything on the menu! We were having a hard time describing what was our favorite items amongst those served. The mole was just excellent, but the unsung hero might have been the fresh maid blue corn tortilla chips and all of the details. Also don't skip the cocktails because they craft them and they are quite excellent. Overall I am going to remember this meal particularly.
One of my favourite stops on our visit to NY. I will reccomended to anyone in NY. The food was amazing, as was the service. Well deserving of is michelin star with absolutely 0 pretence. A really chilled evening with great food
The food here was excellent, the drinks were strong but creative and delicious. I personally enjoy that compared to other Michelin starred restaurants, its a more laid-back vibe while maintaining a high quality of food. The dishes are creative, perfectly proportioned and will leave you feeling like you want to try the other menu items the next time you come!
Claro was fantastic - $48 for a 3 course meal at brunch was such a great deal, especially for a Michelin star restaurant.
We got the tostada de atun, masa pancakes, chilaquiles, and mole rojo for food. Favorites were the atun and the pancakes - highly recommend both. The chilaquiles were good but a bit salty and gets a bit tedious to eat by the end; overall still great though.
Cocktails, we liked the San Pascqualito Rey a lot, for dessert, we got 1 of eat - my favorites were the gelato and the churros
Would def come again!
This place serves great food. If you do a reservation for dinning on a table each person must go with the four course menu. Although all courses were good, I would prefer to seat in the bar and pick myself from the bar menu since I have more flexibility.

Good value for money! The appetizers i would say are the best. It's an explosion of flavors. Then comes the mains, I think it's quite similar to flavors in the Philippines but it was very filling. The desserts are also a bit underwhelming. But overall, love the experience. I felt I was transported to a different place with this cultural food journey
