Salam! I just ordered some take out and mashallah, the food was so DELICIOUS and reminded me of being back home! But-… my drink came half empty as it has spilled in the bag. I work for a restaurant myself and would like to suggest to the owner to plastic wrap his cups ontop of taping the straw hole in order to ensure it won’t spill, I got the zaytoon palmer, the lemonade mint juice and rose water, absolutely delicious and so sad to only get half a cup.
Love love love itttt!!! They have pne of the best falafels in town. We ordered the the mezze platter, chicken shawarma pizza, falafel wrap, veggie wrap. Shrimp kabob and baklava cheesecake are a must try. The service was quick and the restaurant decor has the typical middle eastern look.
The food at this place has been consistently delicious for 20 years. I just love it. The price point has gone a little beyond two dollar signs, but it is worth it. The staff are friendly and courteous. The food is fresh.
Zaytoon is a hidden gem tucked away in Brooklyn, offering a delicious Middle Eastern cuisine that will tantalize your taste buds. From the moment you step in, you're greeted with a cozy and welcoming atmosphere that sets the tone for a great dining experience.
The Hummus was a standout dish, full of rich, creamy flavor that left us craving for more. It was served with freshly-baked pita bread that perfectly complemented the dish. The Babaghanouj with rice was also a highlight, with smoky eggplant and nutty tahini flavors blending together perfectly. The Chicken Kebab was wonderfully cooked and well seasoned, providing a juicy and flavorful experience.
While the food was exceptional, there was one downside to the restaurant - it's cash-only. This can be frustrating for those who don't typically carry cash. Additionally, the menu service is done through a QR code, which can be a bit inconvenient for those who prefer a physical menu.
Despite this minor inconvenience, the overall experience at Zaytoon was delightful, and we'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic Middle Eastern culinary experience in Brooklyn. The food is full of flavor, and the ambiance is perfect for a casual evening with friends or family. Very affordable too. Our combined meal was only around USD 30.
The food is good and the prices are very reasonable, I’ll definitely be coming back here in the future.
Great restaurant! Came here for dinner, and enjoyed my time and food. Everything is quite reasonably priced as well: pizza was around 10 bucks, a variety of breads for around $8, with most meals settling in a similar 10-15 range. What you see below totaled to around 65 dollars: a 3 person meal in this case with a number of side dishes that was more than enough for us. Great service, where food came quite fast (15-20 minutes) with the breads (which again do cost money) of course coming earlier as an appetizer. Proof of vaccination (through phone, etc.) is required, and you order through a website you can access through a QR code at the table: it worked wonderfully and we had no issues using it. Altogether great place, highly recommended.
It's a wonderful spot to eat for a quiet afternoon lunch. The food is excellent, and the service is superb. This is another one of my favorite Middle Eastern restaurants in Brooklyn.
Loved this place!! I got the mezze plate (you choose 5 options we got tabbouleh, grape leaves, hummus, baba ghanouj, and foul) + falafel plate + za’atar bread. It was all so delicious and beautiful!
This place is CASH ONLY but they have an ATM on site! We sat in the back garden which was really nice 😊
Quaint little Mediterranean restaurant that offers good portions with good food. They only accept cash, but have an ATM for use if needed.
The service is very fast and they have a lovely outdoor seating area as well as indoor seating depending on the weather.
First off - the staff is so welcoming and polite. Even when there's lunch/dinner rush you are surely taken care of and treated with respect. The hostess was SO kind and the waitstaff are amazing.
Now the food is SO flavorful and delicious. The chicken pitza specifically is my favorite and go-to. Highly recommend! The drinks are so refreshing as well. Def a gem in Brooklyn! If you want some good middle eastern lunch or dinner def check out zaytoons!!
The food here was very very good. We smelled the food walking down the block. Everything was made fresh and quick to order. The dishes were amazing and the flavor was incredible. Definitely worth it, and will be coming back here again.
My friends and I ate there recently and were all very happy with what we ordered. I had the goat cheese pizza and it looked gorgeous and the taste was as great as the look! The mint tea was also tasty. The service was friendly. All food must be ordered via a site you scan with your phone from a sign on the table so don't expect the food to come out at the same time if you are a lot faster than your friends. Also, bring cash as that's all they accept.
I went to Zaytoons with one other person for dinner. While I can recommend all the Middle Eastern dishes, I thought the pitza was ultimately a bit of a non sequitur. I’m not sure what I expected other than a flatbread, but it left me feeling like it was more of an appeal to the limited American pallet as opposed to an innovation.
The service was good, vibe of the inside is good, and I had a great time dining here. Watch out, they’re cash only and their Turkish coffee has star anise in it.
What an excellent find! Fresh hummus with high turnover. Crispy falafels cooked to perfection, full of spice and flavor and not dry. Super juicy and savory burger. Chicken shawarma was excellent and beef/lamb platter was die for. It's one of those dinners where we were all suddenly quiet and too preoccupied eating only to rave about it after.
The star of the show is the food: simply bursting with amazing flavors. Delicious food across the board: tahini, hummus and babaghanouj all some of the best I've had in NYC. Considering the economy and being a table-servuce restaurant in Brooklyn prices are very reasonable and the portions are generous. Cash-only. Single unisex bathroom was clean. Staff were attentive and polite. 5 out of 5 for a middle eastern restaurant. This is my new go-to spot when I'm in the neighborhood, I'm looking forward to more meals here
Zaytoons is always a great spot for a light bite and cool drink. The mint tea is also awesome. Mom had Shrimp Kabob with side salad. She enjoyed it !
Absolutely delicious!!! The pita bread is made by them, very authentic taste, I felt in the Middle East.
